A Spare Ordering Policy with Random Lead Times (조달기간이 확률적인 경우의 예비품 주문정책)

  • A generalized spare ordering policy is treated in this paper. If the operating unit fails before a scheduled ordering time an expedited order is placed at the failure time instant, otherwise a regular order for a spare is placed at the scheduled time. The original unit is replaced when the ordered spare is delivered. The lifetime, regular and expedited lead times have general distributions. The problem is to find the optimum ordering time which minimizes the expected cost rate including the observation, ordering, uptime and down-time costs. Some properties regarding the optimal policy are derived. To explain the spare ordering policy a numerical example is also included.

  • The software reliability have to be improved as one major method to enhance the quality of developed software, and its defect is detected and modified through testing as a direct way to meet the purpose before releasing. Once its reliability grows up to the target and it is released to public. there nay be operational reliability problem. The operational software reliability trend nay be different depending on the condition whether it is universal or dedicated. And its reliability estimation is changed based on the condition if it follows uniform testing efforts or Weibull testing efforts. I study the operational reliability trend of dedicated software, applying two case testing efforts for the released item.

A proxy driving system supporting user convenience and system efficiency (사용자 편의성과 시스템 효율성을 지원하는 대리운전 시스템)

  • This paper describes the design and implementation of a 3-tiered proxy driving system utilizing smartphones. This system provides customers with a convenient request facility, and enables proxy drivers to provide a prompt service based on customer's location information. Implemented system supports two methods such as the existing phone-call and the online requesting method using smartphones. Performance analysis shows that the higher the ratio of online requests, the greater the effect of decreasing of phone jockey's workloads and the reduction of request processing time through the automation of receipt and processing. From a proxy driver company's standpoint, this system minimizes the increase of phone jockeys, and improves customer satisfaction through good service quality. This system also helps the company reduce the cost and increase the market share.

A Dynamic Optimization for Automotive Vehicle Shipment and Delivery (자동차 선적 및 납기를 위한 동적 최적화)

  • The automotive industry has made much efforts to deliver finished vehicles to customers with speed and reliability. Decreasing the time a vehicle stays within an assembly plant from production release to shipment contributes to reduce the total order lead-time and consequently, the total transportation cost as well. Conventional shipment planning algorithms are limited in accommodating the dynamics of assembly plant operations as to finished vehicle shipment. This paper presents a market-based multi-agent shipment planning algorithm to optimize the performance of vehicle shipment process, capturing the operationally disruptive events. Experimental results using simulation show that the algorithm improves vehicle shipment performance with respect to lead time, labor efficiency, finished product quality, and transportation efficiency.

  • 오늘날 컴퓨터의 발달과 인터넷의 확산으로 멀티미디어 컨텐츠의 보급이 급격히 확대되고 있으며, 이들 컨텐츠에는 원거리 화상회의, 감시시스템, 주문형 비디오(VOD), 주문형 뉴스(NOD), 디지털 편집 시스템 등 동영상이 포함되어 있다. 이처럼 동영상은 정보교환과 정보표현의 매개물로서 중요한 역할을 한다. 그러나 이와 같은 동영상은 노이즈나 전송과정 중 발생하는 문제 등으로 인해 항상 좋은 품질을 보장되지 않는다. 이런 훼손된 영상을 원영상으로 복원하거나 사용자가 제거 혹은 복원하고자 하는 영역을 지정 처리함으로서 다양한 정보를 획득할 수 있다. 일반적으로 pc에서 사용되어지는 대부분의 동영상은 $15fps{\sim}30fps$이다. 대부분의 동영상 편집 기술은 각각의 frame을 추출하여 수동적으로 처리하므로 비용과 시간이 많이 든다. 이런 단점을 해결하기 위해 여러 방법이 기존에 시도되고 있다. 제거 혹은 복원하고자 하는 영역을 전 frame에서 처리하기 위해 움직임 검출 및 추적기법이 사용되며, 제거 혹은 복원하기 위해 median filtering, image inpainting 처리 방법들이 있다. 본 연구에서는 사용자에 의해 미리 정의된 바운딩 박스내의 객체를 추적하여 객체의 중심값을 찾는 mean-shift algorithm을 이용하여 움직이는 객체를 추적하였고 image Inpainting algorithm을 이용하여 훼손된 영역을 복원하거나 제거하고자 하는 객체를 제거하였다.

A Study on Perception Difference for Service Quality of Abroad Logistics Center by the Characteristics of Shippers (화주기업 특성에 따른 해외물류센터 서비스 품질 인식차이에 관한 연구)

  • Shippers face uncertainty and risks until the delivery of goods to the buyer (importer). To avoid these uncertainty and risks, shippers use the abroad logistics center and then try to construct continuous contract relations. From this viewpoint, this study examines the motivations of shippers to take advantage of the logistics center and perception difference for service quality according to the characteristics of shippers. For this purpose, T-test and ANOVA analyses are conducted using SPSS 21.0. The results suggest the following implications. First, there are no differences in perception regarding the motivation to take advantage of the logistics center for the size and characteristics of products. Second, the main motivating factors are maneuver to competitors and meeting buyers' demands by using the abroad logistics center. Furthermore, there is the level of perception for service quality regarding packaging and labeling in the logistics center. In contrast, the problem process and the quality of the order progress information is higher. Finally, specific logistics services are required depending on individual products because each product's characteristics are different.

  • Using mobile bookstore application is increasing in accordance with the proliferation of internet and mobile devices. In this circumstances, the purpose of this study is to explore the factors regarding to mobile bookstore application quality evaluation are effecting to customer satisfaction and reuse intention. Thus information, transaction, design, communication, ubiquitous access, personalization, safety are set as a quality evaluation factor. And it is analyzed the effect of these factors to customer satisfaction and reuse intention with path analysis method. As the result, transaction, ubiquitous access, personalization, safety factors effected customer satisfaction and customer satisfaction effected reuse intention. These results show that user mainly access mobile bookstore application for purchasing book. Thus it is important for mobile bookstore operator to keep the application accessed anytime, and serve personalized information, and simplify transaction process, and intensify security for protecting personal or transaction information.

A Study on the SCM Capability Modeling and Process Improvement in Small Venture Firms (중소·벤처기업의 SCM역량 모델링과 프로세스 개선 방안에 관한 연구)

  • This study is empirically intended to put forward the modeling and process improvement measures for the SCM capability in small venture firms. The findings are summarized as follows. There were strategic alliance, technological development and centralization in the modeling of strategic planning for supply chain, not the least of which is strategic alliance, followed by centralization and technological development. There were routing scheduling, network integration and third party logistics outsourcing in decision making, not the least of which was network integration. There were customer service management, productivity management and quality management in management control, not the least of which was quality management. And there were order management choice, pricing demand, shipment delivery and customer management in transaction support system, not the least of which was order management choice. As for the above-mentioned findings, to maximize the SCM capability and operate the optimized process in small venture firms, the existing strategic alliances can optimize the quality management and stabilize the transaction support system through the network sharing and integration from the perspective of relevant organizational members' capability and process improvement. And the strategic linkage between firms can maximize the integrated capability of information system beyond the simple exchange relation between electronic data, achieving a differentiated competitive advantage. Consequently, the systematization and centralization for the maximization of SCM capability, including the infrastructure construction based on the system compatibility and reliability for information integration, should be preceded before the modeling of the integrated capability for optimum supply chain and the best process management in the smart era.

  • During the last decade, Internet protocol television(IPTV), broadcasting of multimedia services using well understood Internet technologies, is a fast spreading technology for distributing multimedia content to consumers. As IPTV services advance, an increasing user demand and tremendous content volume of multimedia content cause some difficulties in network resource management. In this paper, we propose an improved load balancing algorithm for video-on-demand(VoD) service. Unlike existing algorithms, the proposed algorithm considers user's behaviors for VoD service, and determines the most efficient allocation of VoD requests by estimating expected server load and expected user waiting time.

  • Recently, broadband access networks have been competitively deployed all over the world with the development of various multimedia services for such a network. ETRI(Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute) built the FTTH(Fiber-to-the-Home) service center to develop a next-generation equipment and a high-quality service/platform as well as to promote domestic industry in the field of optical communication. The FTTH service center has a variety of test equipments such as FTTH standard testbed for a BMT(Bench Mark Test), a network operation center, and IPTV service equipments. Also, ETRI deployed a new type of commercial optical access networks cooperating with ISP(Internet service provider). In this paper, we analyzed the quality degradation appeared in QoE(Quality of Experience), when IP data broadcasted from the FTTH service center is transmitted to subscribers through the commercial optical access network. Moreover, we proposed a noble solution to address this problem.
