The purpose of this study is to fined out the characteristics of using & change of the residential space according to the children age and family life cycle. The results of this study are as follows: The first, as children grow up, children's activity space changed from living room to the private room, and housing condition was related to the frequency of each activity. The third, changes of the using of dwelling space come out several pattern, increasing bedroom number through reconstruction, exchange of An-band and children room, parents' sleeping space move to living room, and change the function of rooms. The change pattern of the correspondence to the housing needs differed from each family life cycle stage.
People grow up and build up most of their character through living in dwelling space and have relax and refresh at home. Creating healthy dwelling space is being considered very important in architectural planning and design for providing comfortable living environment and improving quality of life. Many research papers and experiments indicates that the geomagnetic field affects the people and living organism. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate the geomagnetic field and people's response in dwelling space. In this study the Importance and Effect of Geomagnetic Field in dwelling space are studied through literature survey of related science field.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the present status of dwelling spaces and deduct sustainable elements in transformation of them by comparing the restored drawings with the surveyed drawings focused on traditional houses that exist in the urban area of cheongju city in Korea. In alteration and extension of these traditional houses, scale of a private room became larger as it has been connected and expanded, the exterior main hall (Daecheong) became the interior living room, and the conventional kitchen was westernized and changed from K type to DK or LDK type. The toilet located at outside was installed by the attached aisle (Toetgan) inside and the existing room. The extension was completed with equipments, storage space, and rental accommodation. The conservative and sustainable elements in the various transformation of them are as follows. Firstly, it was to maintain 3 rooms such as main room (anbang)-main hall (daecheong)-detached room (gunnunbang). Secondly, it was to sustain the circulation of kitchen and arrangement of the - type worktable even though it was westernized. Thirdly, extension of storage space was completed less than 600 mm within the eaves. Although there were functionally and structurally many changes in 18 houses, 4 houses had maintained wooden floor of main hall, 5 houses long planked wooden floor of the attached aisle, and 12 houses rafter ceiling of the main hall and the attached aisle.

A set of constitutive equations is formulated to predict elastic-plastic strain hardening response of sintered porous iron under combined tension and torsion. The proposed constitutive equations were capable of predicting characteristic behaviors of porous metals. Agreement between theoretical curves and experimental data for elastic-plastic response of sintered porous iron was very good for various initial porosities.
The purpose of this study was to analyze spatial characteristics of Chinese traditional residents. This study was carried out in order to have a clear understanding of how cultures of neighboring countries influence Korean residential history and to grasp an objective view on characteristics of Korean houses by comparing and contrasting the characteristics of Chinese residents. This survey was conducted by observing, interviewing, taking pictures and analyzing the pictures that were taken on the real spot. Additional data were collected by participating the seminars of Chinese experts on the traditional house. The spatial layouts and function of Chinese traditional house were analyzed by using pictures, sketches and data which were gathered by interviewing and observing. The shape of Chinese traditional unit plans of houses is basically linear. By repeating this linear shape in the south.north and east.west side, various shapes are formed as an outcome. tangwu and woshi, the living space of Chinese traditional house are strictly hierarchical.
The purpose of this study is to find some major factors which can be used as basic design guideline for the elderly housing as the comfortable dwelling circumstances to keep life as self-reliant and secure as possible in their life. The subjects for this study were 200 elderly women in Taegu, data were collected through an individual visiting interview from 29th, Oct. to 15th, Nov., 1997. This study is to categorize systematically interior environmental design elements for improving sustainability with a view to developing an evaluation model of super high-rise apartment unit plans. With a literature survey and design guide lines concerning sustainable design elements, three hierarchical categorization levels of human, environment, energy and resources systems that consists of upper, middle, low design elements have been proposed. A total of 6 items have been suggested for middle level of categorization and 24 items for lower level. Finally a total of 107 design elements concerning the 24 items and their relationahips have been revealed. The needs for a systematic approach to interior environmental design for sustainability have been discussed.
