Convergence Comparative Study of Presenteeism by Long-term Care Hospital Nurses Versus General Hospital Nurses (요양병원과 종합병원 간호사의 프리젠티즘의 융합적 비교연구)

  • This study is a descriptive study to investigate the presenteeism of nursing in long-term care hospital and general hospital. Data collection was conducted from October 01, 2019 to December 30, 2019. 74 nursing in long-term care hospital and 75 nursing in general hospital in this study. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS Win 21.0 program. Long-term care hospital nurses perceived higher health problems, job loss and perceiver productivity than general hospital nurses. This shows that there is no difference in work intensity according to the classification of patients in long-term care hospitals and general hospital nurses. In order to improve the quality of nursing care services in long-term care hospitals, it is necessary to manage the organizational aspects of long-term care hospital nurses' presenteeism.

  • 종합병원에서는 많은 환자들의 데이터를 효과적으로 관리하기 위해 각종 자료를 전 산화하고 있으며, 그곳에서 근무하는 간호사들은 VDT (Visual Display Terminal) 앞에서 작업시간의 대부분을 보내야만 한다. 간호사들의 요통 유병률이 타 직종에 비해 높은 편이며, 업무와 관련해서 경험한 요통이 간과되는 경향이 있고, 사고보고를 하지 않는 경우가 많아서 실제의 요통 발생률은 보고된 것보다 더 높을 수 있다[1]는 연구결과가 발표된 바 있으며, 이러한 이유에는 여러 원인이 있겠으나, 그 중에서 특히 VDT작업을 하는 간호사들과 작업환경과의 관계를 규명해 보고자 서울 지역의 일부 종합병원 VDT(Visual Display Terminal) 작업 간호사들을 대상으로 실태조사를 하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 VDT 작업 간호사들의 설문지 응답과 직무분석 그리고 작업자세와 작업환경조건 등을 고려하여 VDT증후군에 대한 위험요인을 파악하고, VDT 관련 직업병 예방대책을 마련하고자 하였다. 설문지 분석결과 종합병원 간호사들의 근무환경 및 업무활동과 통증발생 결과간에 관련성이 있음을 알 수 있었다. RULA 프로그램 분석결과인 Level 5가 나왔으며, 이는 3단계 위험수준을 가리키는 것으로 곧 작업환경을 바꾸어야 하는 것으로 나타났다.

Comparison of Job Stress, Hardness, and Burnout of Nurses between Advanced general Hospitals and general Hospitals (의료기관 종별 간호사의 업무스트레스, 강인성과 소진비교)

  • This study was conducted to compare nurses' job stress, hardness and burnout between general hospitals and advanced general hospitals. Data were obtained through structured questionnaires from 394 nurses(general 198, upgrade general 196) in the C and S city between April and May, 2010. Data analysis was done with independent t test, ANCOVA, ANOVA, Scheffe & Eacute test and Pearson correlation coefficient with SPSS WIN v 17.0. Job stress, hardness, and burnout of nurses in general hospitals were 2.45, 2.11 and 3.70 respectively. Those in advanced general hospitals were 2.69, 2.70 and 3.70 respectively. Job stress and hardness were significantly higher in general hospitals. There was no significant difference of burnout between general and advanced general hospitals. Burnout of nurses in both hospitals was positively correlated with job stress and negatively correlated with hardness. Further studies are necessary for identify factors influencing job stress of general hospitals. Program for enhancing hardness of nurses in upgrade general hospitals should be developed.

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the stress from nursing care between nurses in cancer unit and nurses in the general unit. A total 114 of nurses were recruited from a general hospital. The job stress level of the nurses and the somatic symptoms level of the nurses working in cancer unit was significantly higher than the level of the nurses working in general unit. It is important to eusure the methods that contrive to perform care efficiently by generating hospice nurses.

Effects of Emotional Labor and Positive Psychological Capital on Burnout among Nurses at a General Hospital (일개 종합병원 간호사의 감정노동, 긍정심리역량이 소진에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of emotional Labor and positive psychological capital on burnout in general hospital nurses. Participants were 157 nurses working at F General Hospital in C City, Gyeongsangnam Province and data were collected from February 8 to 22, 2019. Data were analyzed by t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, multiple regression analysis using SPSS Win 23.0. Burnout was positively correlated with emotional labor (r=.531, p<.001), whereas a negative correlation was observed with positive psychological capital (r=-.391, p<.001). Factors influencing burnout included emotional labor (β=.47, p<.001), positive psychological capital (β=-.28, p<.001), with 34.9% explanatory power (F=42.78, p<.001). This result may be useful in developing new strategies for reducing burnout. Further research is needed to identify other factors affecting the burnout of general hospital nurses.

The Influencing factors on the General Hospital Nurses' Turnover Intention (종합병원 간호사의 이직의도에 미치는 영향 요인)

  • The purpose of this study was to find factors affecting on emotional intelligence, career plateau, nursing work environment on the turnover intention among general hospital nurses. The data were analyzed by SPSS/SIN 22.0. Negative correlations were turnover intention and nursing work environment(r=-.397, p<.001), turnover intention and emotional intelligence(r=-.112, p=.033). Positive correlations were turnover intentions and career plateau(r=.352, p<.001). Factors affecting on turnover intention were career plateau and nursing work environment. The career plateau and nursing work environment explained 21.1% of turnover intention. These results can be used as a basis for reduce the turnover intention.

The Effects of Patient Safety Culture Perception and Organizational Commitment on Patient Safety Management Activities in General Hospital Nurses (종합병원 간호사의 환자안전문화인식과 조직몰입이 환자안전관리활동에 미치는 영향)

  • This study aimed to identify the effect of patient safety culture perception, organizational commitment on patient safety management activities in general hospital nurses. The data were collected from 191 subjects from August 2 to August 16, 2017 using a structured self-report questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS WIN Version 22.0. The results showed that patient safety management activities had significant correlations with patient safety culture perception and organizational commitment. Also, the influencing factors on patient safety management activities were patient safety culture perception, organizational commitment, and patient safety education experience. These factors explained 33.3% of variance. Therefore, in order to improve the patient safety management activities among general hospital nurses, it is necessary to develop and apply an nursing intervention programs considering patient safety culture perception, organizational commitment, and patient safety education experience.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the experience of workplace bullying among new nurses in general hospital. Method: Participants were 7 new nurses in 3 hospitals located S city Korea. The data were collected through in depth interviews with open ended questions from September to December. The collected data were analyzed using phenomenological analysis method. Results: The experience of workplce bullying among new nurses was verified into theree themes and 9 categories. Conclusion: Preventing workplace bullying which is aimed at new nurses is essential as a challenging issue. This study is significant in that it can be used as primary data when developing effective strategies and intervention programs to improve the nursing environment in the future.

Converged Influencing Factors on the Career Commitment of General Hospital Nurses with Preschool Children (미취학 자녀를 둔 종합병원 간호사의 경력몰입에 미치는 융합적 영향요인)

  • This study aimed to identify the parenting competence and parenting stress of nurses in general hospital with preschool children, and to identify convergent factors affecting career commitment. A cross-sectional design was used with a convenience sample of 214 nurses from seven general hospitals. Data were collected through self-evaluation questionnaires from August 10 to August 31, 2016 and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and structural modelling using the SPSS WIN 18.0 and AMOS 18.0 computer programs. Parenting stress had a full mediating effect on the influence of parenting competency on career commitment. It is expected to be used as a basic data for improving career commitment of nurses in general hospitals with preschool children, and further studies on factors affecting career commitment, including job-related characteristics, along with parenting-related factors, will be needed.

Effect of Health Belief of Emerging Infectious Disease on Self-Efficacy for Healthcare among General Hospital Nurses (종합병원 간호사의 신종감염병 관리에 대한 건강신념이 건강관리 자기효능감에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was to examine relationships among health belief of emerging infectious disease and self-efficacy for healthcare and identify the factors that influence on self-efficacy for healthcare in the general hospital nurses. The data were collected from 150 nurses working in the three general hospitals, located in S and Y city using self-administered questionnaires. Data was collected from January 11, 2021 to January 22. Among sub-factors of the health beliefs, perceived benefit (β=.17, p=.040), perceived sensitivity (β=.19, p=.020), and age (β=.21, p=.005), and these variables explained 14.0% of self-efficacy for healthcare(F=4.28, p<.001). Through this study, it is necessary to develop educational program self-efficacy for healthcare is needed for improving perceived benefit and perceived sensitivity among general hospital nurses.
