A Study on the Comparative Study on the Work Obstacles and Safety Culture Perceptions of Elderly Welfare Facility Employees in Korea and Japan (한·일 노인복지시설 종사자의 업무저해요인과 안전문화인식 비교)

  • This is a comparative descriptive research conducted to compare work obstacles and safety culture perceptions of elderly welfare facility employees in Korea and Japan. The number of subjects are total 680 including 460 Japanese employees, working at elderly welfare facility in city 'N', and 220 Korean employees in city 'A' and 'S' of province 'K'. This study had been conducted from April 1, 2018 to August 30, 2018 and the data was analyzed by x2-test, t-test, ANOVA. As a result, work obstacles were korea and japan, there were no statistically significant differences between two groups. In the safety culture perceptions, employees of elderly welfare facility in Korea showed significantly higher level of safety culture perception than employees of that in Japan. furthermore, it is revealed in both countries that the less work obstacles they have, the higher safety culture perceptions they get. And it is a work obstacles that affects safety culture perceptions. Lastly, it is expected that the result of this study can be used as basic data for the improvement of working environment and for the strategy development in human resource management to enhance the safety culture perceptions and to reduce work obstacles.

A Study on the Current Status Associated with Challenging Behaviors of Adults with Developmental Disabilities and the Perception of Workers: Focused on Cases at Lifelong Education Centers for the Developmentally Disabled in Seoul (성인 발달장애인의 도전적 행동 관련 현황 및 종사자의 인식에 대한 연구: 서울시 발달장애인 평생교육센터를 중심으로)

  • This study was conducted to understand the current status associated with challenging behaviors of adults with developmental disabilities and review the perception of workers at lifelong education centers for the developmentally disabled. To that end, a survey and a focus group interview were conducted. The findings were as follows. First, 85.4% of people working at lifelong education centers for the developmentally disabled had experienced injury in the past year due to challenging behaviors, and those who experience injuries responded that they suffered burnout, psychological trauma, and considered changing jobs. Second, in terms of preemptive response by the organization to address challenging behaviors, 'securing individual space' and 'preemptive identification of causes of challenging behaviors' ranked the highest, with 87.5% of the respondents giving this answer, respectively. For follow-up measures, 81.3% of organizations answered that they hold meetings on individual cases and provide supervision. Third, in terms of suggestions for ways to address challenging behaviors, establishment of an organization-wide system and cooperation with related organizations were cited as needed.

The Relationship between Job Satisfaction and Turnover Intention among Fire Protection System Management Workers (소방시설관리업 종사자의 직무만족과 이직의도와의 관계)

  • This study examined job satisfaction among fire protection system management workers in the fire industry and analyzed how job satisfaction affects turnover intention. The results revealed that, among the control variables, including age, rank, academic background, payment, total career, license, and tasks, significant differences in job satisfaction were found in the tasks between groups, while no significant differences in turnover were found in any control variable between groups. Additionally, the results revealed that, among the lower variables of job satisfaction, increased satisfaction with payment and organizational system affected the degree of turnover intention, while work and promotion did not. These results are to be used as data for human management of technicians and for creating alternatives. Future studies are required to establish a reasonable task rotation cycle for raising job satisfaction, to examine the current status of low-cost orders and countermeasures, and to analyze the direction of development of fire protection system management business.

A Study on the Development of ICT Curriculum for Private Security Workers (민간경비 종사자의 ICT직무교육과정 개발에 관한 연구)

  • This study developed the ICT curriculum focusing on apartment security guards and analyzed the actual application results. We developed the educational contents and it designed ICT job courseware for elder education by considering and that designed in consideration of the computer attitudes and physical and cognitive characteristics of the elderly. The educational program was applied to the experimental group and the satisfaction and the educational effect were analyzed through the pre and post test results. As a result of the analysis, the satisfaction level of the education program was higher than the average of 4.00 points. The elderly informal education program was examined by using the qualitative assessment test tool before and after the application of the education program. Internet self-efficacy of experiment group, improvement of internet utilization ability, usage of internet use, personal information willingness, life correction, elimination of conflict among generations, self-confidence, and internet stress increased statistically significantly. These results suggest that the "Private Expense ICT Job Training" program developed in this study can be effective for elderly informatization and can be applied to other elderly education programs and contribute to promotion.

A study on the level of codependency among social work related professionals and its effect on their burnout: Focusing on moderating effects of Sex-role attitude (사회복지종사자의 공동의존성과 소진에 관한 연구 : 성역할태도의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is first, to explore the level of codependency among social work related professionals since codependency of professionals in the field has not been explored much in Korea. Second purpose is to examine whether codependency affects the level of burnout. Last purpose is to examine moderating effects of the Sex-role attitude on the relationship between codependency and burnout. Data were collected from the 11th of December in 2014 until the 28th of February in the following year. Self-administered questionnaires were distributed to care professionals practicing in social work institutions in Daejeon City and Choongcheong province, via email and mail. In addition, surveys were administered at several continuing education training venues. Instruments used for this study include CODAT(Codependency Assessment Tool) developed by Hughes-Hammer and colleagues in 1998, MBI(Maslach Burnout Inventory) developed by Maslach and Jackson in 1981, and SRA(Sex Role Attitude) developed by Osmond and Maryin in 1975. In total, 368 surveys were used for final analysis. The results include that gender did not have statistically significant relationship with the overall codependency, however, male showed statistically higher score than female in one of subscales of codependency called hiding oneself. Workers in the residential settings showed higher level of codependency than those in non-residential settings, especially in the subscale of Other focus or Self-neglect. Codependency showed a strong relationship with Burnout. Among the five-factor structure of the CODAT, Medical problem, Low Self-worth and Family of Origin showed strong relationship with the Burnout score. And the moderating effects of Sex-role Attitude showed a statistically significant relationship between codependency and burnout. Conservative sex-role attitude amplified the level of burnout on the relationship between codependency and burnout. Based on the result, educational and policy implications were made in order to prevent burnout among social work related professionals.

Estimated Additional Number of Workers and Additional Collective Dose by Reducing Dose Limits (선량한도 하향이 방사선작업인력 및 집단선량에 미치는 영향예측)

  • An analysis has been performed to estimate the additional number of workers and the additional collective dose in man-cSv which would be required, nuclear industry-wide as a result of reducing individual dose limit. This analysis can be extended to the reduction in the dose limits recommended by ICRP Publ.60 and BEIR V report as well as the proposed dose limits by regulatory authorities. An industry-wide database was employed in the analysis based on a summary of industry-wide occupational radiation exposure compiled by the Korea Radioisotope Association. Correlation model was employed to compute the affects of setting specific annual individual dose limits. In this study, we have addressed worker non-productivity while in the radiation environment on a parametric or 'sensitivity analysis' basis. This alleviates the need for developing such data underlying a summation of many individual tasks at many nuclear facilities. It has the advantage that very low non-productivity assumptions can readily be defended as conservative, in that it is difficult to approach such low worker non-productivity factors even in the best of environments in any industry. On a per facility basis, for calendar year 1997, the number of workers required would be increased from 231 workers to 269 workers and collective man-cSv dose would be also increased by approximately fourteen percent if the individual dose limit was reduced to 2 cSv/y and an individual worker non-productivity fraction of 0.1 is assumed.

  • The aims of this work are to find the management plans for enhancing the human resource management of hospital organization with more comprehensive approach which are the types of bundles for individual activity in the same medical institution. According to the group clustering with individual system of human resource management based on the above and below average group that is the comprehensive approach of individual human resource management, some differences were shown in the types of jobs for the individual systems of human resource management used for the judgement of affiliated group. However, the system for the supply of career development opportunity and the opening of management information among the human resource management individual system was significance variable for discriminant function to all types of jobs.

  • This study focuses on the characteristics of culture and art industry organizations that emphasize tradition and artistic values. The purpose is to investigate the relationship between transformational leadership, job meaning and collective efficacy, and to clarify the effect of this study. In order to clarify this relationship, research models and hypotheses were set up based on literature research, and 377 questionnaires were distributed and retrieved for the relevant industry workers. The results showed that transformational leadership had a significant effect on group efficacy. In addition, the influence of transformational leadership on job meaning, the effect of job meaning on collective efficacy, and the mediating effect of job semantics were confirmed. These findings can provide guidelines for organizational change by identifying the effects of transformational leadership on the attitudes of members in the culture and arts industry.

  • This study investigates the differences between IT workers, who possess a high understanding of technology, and non-IT workers in the resistance to accepting an innovative service like mobile commerce. From a total of 317 survey respondents, the results of the study revealed that perceived risk, compatability, and complexity were the significant factors for resistance to mobile commerce for IT workers, while relative advantage, compatibility, and complexity were the factors of resistance for non-IT workers. Higher innovation resistance was shown to result in lower intention of use for both groups of mobile commerce users.

  • 한국건강관리협회는 1998년부터 국민건강증진기금의 지원으로 금연사업을 수행하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 협회에서 실시한 '07년 민간단체 금연클리닉 사업을 대상으로 사업의 효과성을 분석하여 사업의 과학적 근거 확보 및 향후 효과적인 사업 수행방안 마련 등 사업의 발전방안을 모색하고자 실시되었다. 대상은 2007년 민간단체 금연클리닉에 참여한 군 경, 중소업체 종사자, 운송업체 종사자, 국방부지정부대 참여자, 학교/공공기관 종사자 중 설문조사에 성실하게 응답한 3,170명이다. 민간단체 금연클리닉 사업 효과성 평가 설계는 구조화된 평가도구를 활용하여 금연클리닉에 참여한 집단만을 대상으로 참여 전(사전조사)과 금연클리닉 종료 후(사후조사)의 조사결과를 비교하는 단일 전후조사 설계(one-group pretest posttest design)방법을 사용하였다. 연구결과 민간단체 금연클리닉 참여자의 하루 평균 흡연량은 15.96개비, 평균 흡연시작연령은 18.59세, 평균 총 흡연기간은 146.39개월로 나타났으며, 참여자의 니코틴 의존도는 평균 3.81점으로 조사되었다. 또한 참여자의 84.5%가 의지로 금연 시도하였으나 실패한 것으로 나타나 이에 대한 개입이 필요함을 알 수 있다. 참여자들의 상황별 흡연욕구는 높은 수준이었으며, 특히 술자리, 스트레스상황 등 특정 상황에서 흡연욕구가 높게 나타났다. 금연관련 경험요인은 5점 기준 2.84점으로 조사되었으며, 인지적 과정이 행동적 과정에 비해 높게 나타났다. 마지막으로 민간단체 금연클리닉의 전반적인 만족도는 높았으나 상담환경에 대한 만족도가 상대적으로 낮았음을 감안할 때, 환경적인 부분에 대한 개선이 필요할 것으로 보인다. 더불어 금연클리닉의 효과나 만족도 부분에서 대상자의 특성에 따른 차이가 발생하므로 참여 대상자의 특성을 감안한 맞춤형 프로그램 개발이 필요할 것이다.
