The Study of Organizational Structure and Loyalty in Libraries: With a Focus on Public and University Libraries (도서관의 조직구조와 애사심에 관한 연구: 공공도서관 및 대학도서관을 중심으로)

  • This study aims to investigate how librarians' loyalty is affected by the organizational structure of libraries. For this purpose, 39 university libraries and 21 public libraries in Seoul were surveyed, and 126 questionnaires were collected and statistically analyzed. The main findings of the analysis are as follows. First, the centralization factor of organizational structure significantly affects the belongingness, responsibility, and devotion factors of loyalty. Second, the communication factor of organizational structure significantly affects the belongingness factor of loyalty, and it has a more substantial effect than centralization. Third, the moderating effect of library type on the effect of organizational structure on librarians' loyalty was found to be statistically insignificant. Based on the above results, this study suggests organizational structural measures to increase librarians' loyalty, and it is meaningful in that it is a study on an organizational field that has not been covered in depth in the literature.

Trust in organizations: Conceptualization and Trends (조직내 신뢰: 개념화와 연구동향)

  • This paper examines the diverse conceptualizations of trust and explores the multi-level factors affecting trust in organizations. Trust in organizations can be defined as a willingness to be vulnerable to the actions of others and to take risks based on the positive expectations toward the others' intentions and behaviors. The process of building and the content of trust in organizations can vary depending on the social and cultural backgrounds in which. the organizations lie. The reengineering process toward a flatter and flexible organizational structure requires the presence of trusting relationships within organizations. Networks within organizations can function as a basis and channel of trust formation. Finally, the importance of trust in efficient leadership process was discussed.

  • This paper explores alternative organizational models for ICT units of local governments, while analyzing the task contents, organizational structures and work relations of ICT departments in 17 Korean metropolitan provinces. We employed both quantitative and qualitative methods including in-depth interview, open-ended survey, and hard data analyses to collect a wide variety of information on organizational performance, human resource development, and task characteristics of ICT units. As strategies to enhance task contents, organizational structures and work relations of ICT departments, we suggest four ideal ICT organizational models for local governments: Relation Model, Resource Model, Curation Model and Creation Model.

A Study on the Organizational Support for Smart Work (스마트워크 지원을 위한 조직적 준비에 대한 연구)

  • In the case of ICT-enabled organizational changes such as Smart Work, appropriate change management is required. To achieve work-life balance, organizational change management should be conducted from both a structural and a cultural perspective. This study looked at organizational factors that affect Smart Work facilitation through a case study with the view of ICT-enabled change management. From November to December 2019, eight Smart Workers of Company A were interviewed and analyzed for organizational support. The results show that structural support such as institutionalization, ICT infrastructure office environment improvement, Smart Work center as well as cultural support such as enhancing autonomy, communicating style of managers, trusting organizational climate are required. The findings suggest balanced organizational support to provide cultural support along with structural support for activating Smart Work operations. In the future, it is necessary to demonstrate the causality between structural/cultural support factors and outcome factors.

Antecedents of Organizational Citizenship Behavior: The Mediating Role of Leader-member Exchange (조직시민행동의 선행요인에 관한 연구: LMX의 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • The main purpose of this study was to find antecedents of organizational citizenship behavior(OCB) and to investigate the mediating role of leader-member exchange(LMX). This study categorized the factors that influence OCB and LMX into individual(distributive and procedural justice), group(transformational leadership and team empowerment), and organizational levels(complexity). A total of 773 cases were used in this study, which were collected in one of industrial complexes. The research participants were any employees who participated in their work by collaborating with their co-workers. This study found that procedural justice, transformational leadership, and team empowerment had positive influences on OCB, and distributive justice, procedural justice, transformational leadership, team empowerment, and complexity significantly influenced LMX. Moreover, LMX played a mediating role in the relationship between each of the five input variables and OCB.

Microsutructures of Carnonaceous Materials within Illite of the Daedong Group Slate from Jeongok Area, Korea (전곡지역 대동층군 점판암의 일랑트내에 협재된 탄질물의 미세구조)

  • 이 연구에서는 대동층군 탄질 점판암내에 산출하는 탄질물의 미세구조를 고분해능 투과전자현미경(HRTEM)을 이용하여 조사하였다. 관찰된 탄질물은 구조가 부분적으로 흑연화된 흑연화과정의 초기단계 물질로서$ 100\AA$ 이하의 매우 얇은 크기로 일라이트 결정들의 경계면 사이나 일라이트 결정내에 협재되어 나타난다. 탄질물의 층상구조는 휘어있거나 불연속적이며, 부분적으로 원형조직을 보이는 "지문" 조직을 이루고 있다. 이러한 특징은 많은 결함구조를 가지고 구조적으로 충분히 흑연화되지 않은 물질에서 볼 수 있는 전형적인 구조다. 미세한 규모로 협재된 조직을 보이는 탄질물은 퇴적물의 속성작용과 저변성작용시 일라이트가 성장하는 동안에 포획되었거나, 또는 일라이트 이전의 점토광물내에 흡착되었던 물질들로부터 유래된 것으로 보인다. 이처럼 탄질물과 일라이트가 미세한 규모로 협재되어 산출하는 특징은 저변성암에서 일어나는 흑연화작용시 복잡한 미세구조의 변화가 수반되었음을 지시한다. 다양한 미세구조를 보여주는 흑연질 물질의 산출은 탄질물이 고온에서 균질한 흑연으로 생성되기까지 불연속적인 단계를 거쳐 반응할 가능성을 지시한다. 끝으로, 이 연구는 이온 빔을 이용하여 제작한 시료를 관찰함으로써 암석내에 함유된 탄질물들의 조직을 훼손하지 않고 관찰할 수 있음을 보여준다.

  • Socially, organizations are required to effectively manage their information resources, both in terms of acquiring information from external sources and safeguarding against potential breaches by insiders. While information security policies and technologies implemented by organizations contribute to achieving internal security, an overly complex or disorganized security structure can create uncertainty among employees. In this study, we identify factors of structural information security (IS)-related uncertainty within organizations and propose that they contribute to non-compliance. We develop a research model and hypotheses based on previous studies on the information security environment and test these hypotheses using structural equation modeling. Our findings indicate that uncertainties related to IS policy, technology, and communication decrease employees' IS role identity and their intention to comply with IS measures. By addressing these uncertainties, organizations can improve their IS environment and work towards achieving there is goals.

  • 조직공학은 결손된 조직의 구조 및 기능을 신속히 수복할 수 있도록 적절한 생체소재, 세포, 활성인자 세가지 구성요소를 적절히 조합하는 것이다. 이렇게 하므로써 결손된 조직을 대체할 수 있는 세포에 대한 부착, 이동, 증식, 분화조건을 최적상태로 만들어 주는 것이다. 이러한 관점에서 치아임플랜트의 조직 공학적 적용은 다음 몇가지 관점을 고려할 수 있다. 첫째, 인공치아 임플랜트도 넓은 의미에서 그 자체로서 조직공학의 범주에 들어간다고 할 수 있다. 따라서 결손된 치아의 구조 및 기능을 신속히 회복시킬 수 있도록 조직공학적인 관점에서 검토할 수 있다. 생체소재는 표면에너지의 관점에서, 세포는 골모세표와 섬유모세포관점에서, 활성인자는 세포분화 촉진인자의 관점을 고려할 수 있다. 둘째, 치아임플랜트의 기능회복 촉진을 위한 조직공학기법을 부가적으로 적용하는 것이다. 임플랜트와 생체조직사이에 기능성 조직을 신속히 형성시키므로써 임플랜트의 기능회복을 촉진하는 적절한 생체소재, 세포, 활성인자를 적절히 이용하는 정통 조직공학기법을 적용하는 것이다.

A Study on the Subject Specialization System Model of University Libraries in the 21st Century (21세기 대학도서관의 주제별 자료실 조직모형 연구)

  • It is searched that 56 out of 185 university libraries(30.2%) has adopted 'subject specialization' organization. This 'subject specialization' emerged when university libraries began to care about their users and services for them more than other factors in planning and structuring their organization. The number of university libraries which try to adopt that organization has been continuously increasing. To settle 'subject specialization' in the university libraries under Korea's proper condition and to maximize its effect, each library should consider one's own conditions and step the reasonable procedure in adopting that system. Considering the similar condition which the university libraries in Korea face such as shortage of material support, 'Mixed Model of subject specialization" is reasonable, which means in whole structure of library function-oriented organization is adopted and in Reference Service, subject specialization is adopted. However, the ideal and final destination of Korea's university libraries is the adoption of 'Full subject specialized model": it can be reached when they are supported by sufficient human resources and good conditions.
