Velvet Regulators in Aspergillus spp. (Aspergillus spp.에서의 Velvet 조절자)

  • Filamentous Aspergillus spp. are the most common fungi in our environment and can be beneficial and/or pathogenic to humans. Many Aspergillus spp. reproduce by forming asexual spores and can synthesize various secondary metabolites. A series of studies has revealed that Velvet regulators are fungus-specific transcription factors coordinating fungal growth, development, and secondary metabolism in the model fungus Aspergillus nidulans. Proteins of the Velvet family form various complexes that play diverse roles in the life cycle of A. nidulans. In other Aspergillus spp., proteins of this family are highly conserved and coordinate asexual development and secondary metabolism. This review summarizes the functions of Velvet proteins in Aspergillus spp.

Constructing Gene Regulatory Networks using Knock-out Data (Knock-out 데이터를 이용한 유전자 조절망의 구성)

  • A gene regulatory network is a network of genes representing how genes influence the activities of other genes. Nowadays from microarray experiments, a large number of measurements on the expression levels of genes are available. One of typical data is the so-called "steady-state model" data measuring the expression levels of other genes after knocking out a particular gene. This paper shows how to reverse engineer a parsimonious gene regulatory network, using these measurement data. Our model considers auto-regulation, which forms a cycle in a genetic network. We also model repressor and enhancer roles of genes. which are not considered in previous known methods.

  • 강변저류지 설계를 위해 주로 사용되고 있는 방법은 1차원 부정류 수치모형인 HEC-RAS의 Storage 기법이다. HEC - RAS의 Storage 기법을 이용할 경우 설계자는 유입부 설계제원과 저류용량 외에 두 개의 매개변수를 결정해 주어야 한다. 하나는 하천의 조도계수이며, 다른 하나는 횡월류 위어의 유량계수이다. 그 중 횡월류 위어 유량계수는 강변저류지 홍수조절효과에 직접적으로 영향을 주는 저류량과 관련되어 있다. 따라서 저류량을 결정하기 위한 유량계수는 기존 연구자들에 의해 다양한 산정식들이 제시되어 있다. 하지만 횡월류 유량계수가 동일한 흐름 조건에서도 산정식별로 차이를 보이고 있어서, 설계자가 어떤 유량계수를 선택하느냐가 매우 중요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 홍수시 발생 가능한 유량계수의 범위를 결정한 후 설계 인자별로 유량계수의 변화에 따른 강변저류지 홍수조절효과를 분석하였다. 분석 결과 유량계수에 따라 크게는 최대홍수량 대비 약 5 ~ 6% 정도의 차이를 보였다. 이는 가장 작게 산정된 홍수조절효과의 범위가 약 15 ~ 20% 정도인 것과 비교하면 큰 차이를 보이는 것으로 확인하였다. 따라서 강변저류지 홍수조절효과 산정시 발생 가능한 다양한 유량계수를 적용하여 보수적으로 설계하는 것이 바람직할 것으로 판단된다.

  • Pollen microspores isolated from peony anthers were cultured by agarose embedding method in the MS medium with 2,4-D(1mg/l) or phenylacetic acid(1, 10, 100mg/l), and without plant hormone. It was observed that pollen microspores cultured on hormone-free medium were directly developed into embryos. Callus formation was enhanced from microspores which were cultured on medium supplemented with 1mg/l PAA. Embryos were also formed from the calli transferred into the hormone-free medium.

  • 본 논문에서는 선박 디젤엔진의 속도를 조절함에 있어서 환경 변화에서도 지속적으로 만족스러운 성능을 유지하도록 시스템 파라미터 추정자, 제어기 계수 수정자를 결합한 자기동조 PID 제어기를 설계한다. 유전알고리즘을 기반으로 한 온라인 추정자가 시스템의 파라미터를 추정하면, 제어기 계수 수정자는 제안한 동조규칙으로 계수를 조정하게 된다. 이를 위해 시스템을 시간지연 1차 모델로 근사화하여 유전알고리즘 기반으로 그 파라미터를 온라인 추정하는 문제를 다룬다. 제안한 방법의 성능은 B&W사의 4L80MC 디젤엔진을 제어대상으로 퍼지모델을 얻고 모의실험을 통하여 확인한다.

국립축산과학원 양계 연구 동향 - 사육밀도와 성장률이 육계 복지와 행동에 미치는 영향 평가

  • 육계는 '살코기를 위해 기르는 닭'을 말한다. 우리나라도 2014년부터 육계 농장의 동물복지 인증제를 시행하고 있다. 우리 제도는 닭의 사육밀도, 먹이와 물 공급 시설, 휴식 공간 등의 기준을 정해놓았지만, 해외에서는 닭의 품종까지도 고려하고 있다. 빨리 자라는 육계는 다리에 힘이 약하거나 발바닥 피부염 등의 문제가 발생할 수 있다. 그래서 육계 동물복지를 위해 천천히 자라는 품종을 기르자는 의견도 있지만 천천히 자라는 품종은 생산비가 많이 들기 때문에 농장에서 쉽게 받아들이기 어려운 실정이다. 최근 외국의 한 연구팀이 기존의 빨리 자라는 육계 품종을 이용해 사료 급여량과 사육밀도를 조절하여 천천히 자라게 한 뒤, 닭의 복지와 행동을 살펴보았다. 사료를 적게 주고 사육밀도를 낮추면 닭이 천천히 자랐고, 깃털 상태, 활동성, 발바닥의 건강상태는 좋아졌지만, 사료 효율은 낮아지고 원하는 무게에 도달하는 데 더 오랜 시간이 걸렸다. 이 연구를 통해 닭의 복지를 위해서는 성장률과 사육밀도를 잘 조절해야 한다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 향후 육계 농장은 생산성과 동물복지를 함께 고려해야 하는데, 이번 연구 결과는 앞으로 더 나은 육계 농장이 되기 위해, 우리가 풀어야 할 문제를 엿볼 수 있었다.

An Empirical Study on the Difference in Perception of Introducing Smart Port between Port Operators and Users in Gwangyang Port (스마트항만 도입에 대한 항만 운영자와 이용자 간의 인식차이에 관한 실증연구 - 광양항을 중심으로 -)

  • Overseas advanced ports are promoting smartification, as well as full automation of the terminals surrounding container terminals. A smart port can be defined as a comprehensive concept that pursues increased operational efficiencies, maximization of profit, efficient use of energy, and construction of eco-friendly ports with the introduction of fourth-industrial-revolution technology, including port automation. However, Korea is making efforts to introduce fourth-industrial-revolution technology into ports, but indications are that they are somewhat insufficient compared to advanced ports abroad. Therefore, this study conducted a survey about operators and users of container terminals in Gwangyang Port by deriving the factors determining the introduction of smart ports, such as cost, service, time, safety, and environment, from previous studies. This study analyzed the factors determining the introduction of smart ports and moderating effects when the adjustment variables of operators and users were applied to the pros and cons. As a result of the analysis, it was found that port operators and users have a moderating effect on cost, time, safety, and environmental factors, but not on service factors. These results indicate that port operators try to reduce costs through efficient operation, time management, and by reducing safety accidents by building smart ports, but analysis showed that the negative effects of smart ports have affected port users. The results of this study were derived through a moderated regression analysis and suggested implications for introducing smart ports in the conclusion.

Moderating Effects of 3 years over Startup QFD Training Participants' Characteristics on Transfer Intension (창업기업 QFD 교육 훈련 학습자 특성이 학습 전이의도에 미치는 조절 효과에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to assess the training effect of QFD(Quality Functional Deployment) program for 3 years over startups, adopted from the conventional QFD widely used in the large companies to break up to a sluggish sales and growth, for employees working in startup whether the participants in startup and venture company taking this lessons into their real tasks or not. In particular, the focus of this study falls on figuring out whether individual characteristics of the participants play a role in moderating effect over transfer intension factors and its link path structure. The research results drive out two significant findings. First, in terms of relationship between the influence of transfer intension by self-efficacy and the validity of training content with the learner's readiness, the moderating effect of demographic features of the participants is effective partially by the sex and fully by their working position, but not statistically significant by age, education, and the prior startup career. This research deliver the following significant implication that the active participation of CEO level, decision-maker guarantee the higher performance of the training program like QFD program, more stresses falling on practical implementation in real business rather than just ending up with career training. This study gives significant policy implication to quasi-government organization running all public startup training projects.

Design Method to Control Wind-Induced Vibration of High-Rise Buildings Using Resizing Algorithm (재분배기법을 이용한 고층건물의 풍응답 가속도 조절 설계기법)

  • As increase of height and slenderness of buildings, serviceability design criteria such as maximum lateral drift and wind-induced vibration level play an important role in structural design of high-rise buildings. Especially, wind-induced vibration is directly related to discomfort of occupants. However, no practical algorithm or design method is available for structural designers to control the acceleration level due to wind. This paper presented a control method for wind-induced vibration of high-rise buildings using the resizing algorithm. The level of vibration due to wind is calculated by well known estimation rules of ASCE 7-02, NBCC 95, SAA83, and Solari method. Based on the fact that the level of wind-induced vibration is inversely proportional to the magnitude of natural periods of buildings, in the design method, natural periods of a high-rise building are modified by redistribution of structural weight according to the resizing algorithm. The design method is applied to wind-induced vibration control design of real 42-story residential building and evaluated the efficiency and effectiveness.
