  • The visual environment in an educational building, apart from providing the comfortable seeing conditions needed for the performance of a wide variety of work tasks, must also satisfy the psychological and emotional needs of learners. This paper presents study on actual illumination environment of college and comparison of economical efficiency in order to figure out illumination problems. Furthermore, it attempts to suggest an optimum design of lecture room illumination through computer simulation. We try to evaluate economical efficiency of lighting design in lecture room under the illumination plan which is based on illumination maintenance and uniformity ratio that KS. illumination standard sets.

Smart Emotional Lighting Control System based on Mobile (모바일 기반의 스마트 감성조명 제어 시스템)

  • This paper proposes the smart emotion lighting control system of a mobile-based. The proposed smart emotional lighting control system to reduce the emotional lighting device, internal heat and the power consumption was configured to the android platform mobile device and zigbee module, emotional lighting device, lighting control module, power supply, and general-purpose transistor. The mobile device was to transmit the real-time control information to the emotional lighting device when connected to the system, and it was designed to control the emotion lighting device based on the control messages and status monitoring. In this paper, the efficiency verification results of the proposed smart emotional lighting control system showed that it was possible to control by emotion lighting control and the color temperature variable. The heating value and the power consumption could be reduced by21% and up to 48%, because of the controlled lighting using emotion language.

  • This paper presents a stable lighting method for HID lamp for ship from initial discharging current limit with discharging voltage control. The output voltage of the proposed control scheme is boosted for ignition, and the charging voltage is decreased by the resistor discharging. The proposed controller fires the initial discharge at the designed discharging voltage to limit the discharge current. After the discharging, constant current controller is used for brightness in steady state. The proposed control scheme can limit the initial discharge current using the starting point control without a complex voltage controller. so it can improve the life-time of HID lamp and get a stable discharge from restricted the initial discharge current. In order to improve the protection of the system, a simple instantaneous error detecting circuit for open state and short state of HID lamp is used. The proposed error detecting of HID lamp can protect the power system of lamp control. The effectiveness of the proposed controller is verified from the experiments of practical 2.5[kW] HID search light for ship.

피팅 부식을 이용한 LED용 Al 6063 방열판의 열 방출 특성 향상

  • 에너지 효율이 높은 LED조명을 사용하면 에너지 절감, 이산화탄소, 환경오염물질 배출 감소의 효과를 얻을 수 있다. 그러나 LED조명에서 발생하는 열은 LED조명의 수명과 에너지 효율을 감소시킨다. 따라서 LED조명을 상용화하기 위해서는 LED조명에서 발생되는 열을 효율적으로 제거하는 것이 필수적이며 LED조명 방열판의 생산단가 또한 낮아야 한다. 이러한 조건을 충족하는 LED조명용 방열판은 Al 6063이 주로 사용되고 있다. Al 6063은 열전도 특성이 우수하고 생산단가가 저렴하다. 그러나 100 W급 이상의 고출력 LED조명에 Al 6063을 사용하기 위해서는 Al 6063의 열 방출 특성을 향상시킬 필요가 있다. 금속의 열 방출 특성을 향상시키기 위해서 주로 이용되는 방법은 표면적을 극대화 시키는 것이다. 금속에 국부적인 깊이 부식을 일이키는 Pitting corrosion을 이용하면 저렴한 비용으로 Al 6063의 표면적을 극대화하여 방열판의 열 방출 특성을 향상시킬 수 있다. 실험에 사용한 기본적인 구조의 Al 6063 방열판의 크기는 $50{\times}50{\times}30(mm)$ 이며 1M HCl + 0.05M $H_2SO_4$에서 $I_a$ = +40 mA, $t_a$ = 60 ms, $I_c$ = -40 mA, $t_c$ =20 ms로 50, 100, 200 cycle AC 에칭 하였다. Pitting corrosion된 방열판은 $3W{\times}3$개의 LED모듈에서 1시간 발광 시킨 후, 열화상 카메라를 이용하여 표면온도를 측정하였다. 실험결과 AC에칭 cycle이 증가할수록 발열특성이 우수하였으며, Pitting corrosion을 이용하지 않은 방열판에 비해 최대 $5^{\circ}C$의 표면온도 감소가 이루어졌다. 본 연구를 통해, 저렴하면서도 열 방출 특성이 높은 방열판을 설계하면, 고출력 LED조명의 상용화를 앞당길 수 있을 것이다.

The design and the analysis of a LED illumination lens using the overlapped model (중첩모델을 이용한 조명용 LED 렌즈설계 및 분석)

  • In this research, the overlapped illumination model was used for designing a freeform LED lens with a uniform illuminance distribution on its illuminating plane, and their performances and tolerances were compared. And, the illuminations on a illumination plane was measures for change with average illuminance and illuminance uniformity. As a result of the tolerance analysis about z-axis direction change, thickness change in lens and tilt change of light emission and characteristic change in LED source, overlapped model and divergent illumination model are similar to the performance about Z-axis direction change of light emission in LED source. but the uniformity illumination value in this overlapped model is more remarkably value than it in divergent illumination model about thickness change in LED lens. Also, even though the lens based on a divergent illumination model showed good performance compare to the lens based on an overlapped illumination model, the latter was less the deviation to variation of LED beam radiation ability.

The Master-Slave structure and Synchronization Method for a higher-Capacity Lighting Performance (대용량 조명연출을 위한 마스터-슬레이브 구조와 동기화 방안)

  • The indoor and outdoor lighting industry has become the bigger and more systemized using the semiconductor LED with each control R(Red), G(Green), B(Blue). The communication standard DMX512(ANSI E1.11) protocol of it can control and perform max. 512 lightings, especially 170 lightings in 24 bit true color. As the performance of below 100 lightings is distinguished small-size, this paper proposes a bigger capacity lighting performance above 1,000 using connection to 1 master to 32 slaves. Also, this paper proposes the synchronization method in order to accomplish a designed performance. In proposed method, the master sends the synchronization signal to slaves every 400ms. Slaves receive this signal and use to initialize the timer becoming the basis of DMX512 output. The example of the developed products using proposed method and the operation is introduced.

A study on Economic Evaluation of the Theater Stage Lighting System Using LED (공연장 LED 조명시스템 구성의 경제성 평가에 관한 연구)

  • This study analyzes economic feasibility of the LED lighting system compare to the halogen. To evaluate economic feasibility of the LED devices, we analyzed the size of theater, current value of the lighting devices in kinds, annual cost and annual cost according to the surface in case of designing stage lighting system with LED using WEELS 2011. Also, to compare energy consumption, we analyzed consumption and amount of electric energy by the surface and the amount of CO2 emission. Data showed that annual cost of the LED devices are highly inexpensive than halogen and now the value is of great. However initial cost of the equipment 200% higher than halogen. Though LED devices are expensive in startup setting, the value of utilization factor is large and depreciation years of LED(30years) are longer than halogen(2years). Therefore, annual cost of LED can make up the minus. Consider the tendency of reducing price of LED devices, we can assume that annual cost of the LED will be lower than halogen devices. Further, in 3years the expense of LED and halogen is reversed.
