  • This study is a preceding research designed to deduct an institutional supplementary measure that minimizes any inevitable side effects from the improvement of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, which is the core element of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. In this specific case in which the Robo-Advisor, the representative type of AI-applied technology, was hacked by a third party and ended up manipulating prices, the study was intended to examine the responsibility relationship of the current legal framework. Although the current legal framework strictly prohibits acts such as hacking and manipulation, it was confirmed that if the Robo-Advisor management firm acts in compliance with protection measures regarding hacking, the firm is free from any legal liabilities and there is insufficient legal protection available for ordinary investors with grand-scale damage from price manipulation Based on this study, further studies are needed to derive more institutional supplementary measures on overcoming these problems.

  • It is very important to have pre-service teachers enhance actual content development skill for STEAM classes through deep understanding of the concept. Thus the purpose of the study is to explore the educational methodology for improving pre-service teachers' competence of designing STEAM classes. The research performed with 17 pre-service teachers from Y university and 15 from S university in 2015. It includes blended learning methodology mixing online and offline classes. The result revealed that the students' perception on and the materialization skill of the STEAM education was improved by the methods of Lesson Study and blended learning. A positive result also came out in the respect of the perception on teaching with technology.

  • This review article summarizes the trends and issues around the mobility business and government regulations in Korea. Key issues identified involve unclear government regulations, conflict management between key stakeholders, platform labor, and regional conflicts. The study then offers an overview of the current government regulations on the mobility business and conflict management, along with some policy recommendations in the areas of linking conflict resolution efforts with the welfare safety net, and corporates' social responsibility for the sustainable ecosystem. Ultimately, an ecosystem is required for multiple ministries and stakeholders to participate in the process of improving the regulations, as well as a control tower (government agency) who plays the pivotal role as a coordinator.

  • Concomitant with development of AR(Augmented Reality) and VR(Virtual Reality), interest in location based games and augmented reality have increased and various services have been developed. Due to this, AR, VR, MR(Merged Reality) techniques are considered one of fourth industrial revolution techniques. Oculus Rift which is representative of VR technology, and HTC VIVE need separate controllers, and don't offer service such as receiving external video information when users are using devices. In the case of project Alloy, which is a MR device of Intel, this has advantages such as controlling devices through hand signals and facial expressions, and receiving external video information. In this paper, we propose tourist guide system based on current position using MR. This system makes economical tour possible by arranging tourist attraction information which is from current position of tourists in correct places through external video information using MR, location determination using GPS, tourism information search using wireless internet.

  • In the wake of the fourth industrial revolution, the paradigm of human resources and education required by reality is changing. School buildings are also improving to accommodate changed education and with that move, school building reform policies have been established at home and abroad. The purpose of this study is to present the architectural planning characteristics of Future Schools related to space design. The research methods are as follows: First, the characteristics of Future School planning are compiled through prior research surveys in Korea. Second, the characteristics outlined earlier through advanced case analysis are examined of their application to architectural planning in order to establish the status of utilization factors, and the direction of planning is presented. This study names the school architecture as 'Future School' in reference to the use of the term in the preceding study. This study is meaningful in that it focuses on architectural planning characteristics in Future School planning and on actual application cases of theory.

  • The emergence of a hyper-connected-super-intelligence society, called the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, brought about a new change in the security environment. With ICT (Information Communication Technology) convergence and high-tech technologies introduced across the board, the person-centered driving force that moved the real space is replaced by the code-oriented cyberspace, and its dependency is constantly increasing. Paradoxically, however, these technological changes serve as another security vulnerability that threatens our society, and have brought about the justification for building a cyber defense system while simultaneously facing the opportunities and challenges brought by technology. In this study, the theory of self-defense was put forward on the basis of the theoretical basis for actively responding to the increasingly intelligent and mass-evolving cyberattacks, and firstly, the need to enact a cybersecurity law, secondly, and thirdly, the need to develop a response cooperation system with the U.S. and other cyber powers.

  • The fourth industrial revolution era calls for the ability to solve problems creatively based on basic literacy for technology. These capabilities can be enhanced through the maker education linked to SW education STEM convergence education. Meanwhile, one of the tasks that must be set prior to the maker education is to take an educational approach rather than a tech-centric approach and consider ways to stimulate interest and motivation of the participants. For this purpose, this study developed and applied an engineering-oriented Reading & Maker education program to prospective teachers so that they could participate in active making activities on their own with interest and sympathy rather than simply guiding maker activities. As a result of the study, the results of the maker education recognition survey after the application of the program showed a statistically significant improvement(p<.000).

  • As the fourth industrial revolution begins in earnest, related technologies are becoming a hot topic. Hardware development is accelerating to make the most of technologies such as high-speed wireless communication, and related companies are growing rapidly. Artificial intelligence often uses desktops in general for related research, but it is mainly used for the learning process of deep learning and often transplants the generated models into devices to be used by including them in programs, etc. However, it is difficult to produce results for devices that do not have sufficient power or performance due to excessive learning or lack of power due to the use of models built to the desktop's performance. In this paper, we analyze efficiency using boards with several Neural Process Units on sale before developing the performance of deep learning to match embedded boards, and deep learning accelerators that can increase deep learning performance with USB, and present a simple development direction possible using embedded boards.

  • This is an exploratory study on facilitators, impediments and their priorities of firm innovation activities regarding the Fourth Industrial Revolution. This study adopted an inductive method to explore the properties and contents of the facilitators and impediments. 10 main factors and 30 sub-factors (15 facilitators, 15 impediments) were extracted through the Delphi survey. The highest priority goes to the factor of executive-level officers' minds and future strategies. By examining the properties and contents of 15 facilitators and 15 impediments of innovation activities, this study notices that the most factors are related to the prior stage of innovation. It indicates that each firms' innovation activities regarding the Fourth Industrial Revolution is not about the managing problems in (or of) innovation process, but closely associated with the degree of whether they are willing to be engaged with their innovation activities of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. In addition, this study proposes that the relationship between each firms' innovation activities on existing market/business and the new market/business regarding the Fourth Industrial Revolution can be predicted as a dynamic reverse one. 15 facilitators and 15 impediments can influence two types of innovation activities. Finally, this study suggests that through priorities of facilitators and impediments, leadership and future strategies, culture and organization, and (human) resource acquisition are the prioritized areas for a further study of innovation activities.

  • Modern society is exposed to various types of crises. In particular, since the September 11 attacks, each country has been increasingly responsible for managing non-military crises. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to consider ways to utilize artificial intelligence(AI) for national crisis management in the era of the fourth industrial revolution. To this end, we analyzed the effectiveness of artificial intelligence(AI) operated and under research and development(R&D) to support human decision-making and examined the possibility of using artificial intelligence(AI) to national crisis management. As a result of the study, artificial intelligence(AI) provides objective judgment of the data-based situation and optimal countermeasures to policymakers, enabling them to make decisions in urgent crisis situations, indicating that it is efficient to use artificial intelligence(AI) for national crisis. These findings suggest the possibility of using artificial intelligence(AI) to respond quickly and efficiently to the national crisis.
