Surgical Correction of Total Anomalous Pulmonary Venous Connection without Total Circulatory Arrest (완전 순환 정지 없이 시행한 총 폐정맥 환류 이상의 수술 교정)

  • Background: Circulatory arrest under deep hypothermia is an important auxiliary means for surgical correction of total anomalous pulmonary venous connection (TAPVC), However, cardiac operations under deep hypothermic circulatory arrest are associated with the risk of post-arrest neurologic abnormalities. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the results of the surgical correction of total anomalous pulmonary venous connection without the total circulatory arrest. Materiai and Method: Between April 2000 and October 2004, hospital records of 10 patients were reviewed retrospectively. Result: The locations for abnormal anatomical connections were supracardiac in 7 cases, cardiac in 1 case, and infracardiac in 2 cases. The mean cardiopulmonary bypass time and aorta cross clamp time were 116.8$\pm$40.7 and 69.5$\pm$24.1 minutes. There was no surgical mortality. Postoperative complications were post-repair pulmonary venous stenosis in 1 case, pneumonia in 1, pneumothorax in 1, wound infection in 1,and diaphragmatic paralysis in 1. All patients without pulmonary venous stenosis were in NYHA class I at mean follow-up of 16.6 months (3$\∼$49 months) Conclusion: We could obtain excellent results by repair without the total circulatory arrest for total anomalous pulmonary venous connection.

  • ${\square}{\square}$ 발전기가 운전 중 계자차단기의 Trip으로 인해 계자가 상실되었으며 이의 파급에 의해 계자상실보호계전기의 작동으로 발전기가 정지하였다. 고장분석을 위해 현장에 설치된 계통현상분석장치에서 기록한 실측자료와 계통해석프로그램인 PSS/E의 계자상실 모의결과를 비교 분석하였으며, 이를 토대로 계자상실보호계전기 정정기준의 적정성을 검토하였다. 또한 계자시스템 관련 보호계전기기간 시간협조 미흡으로 불필요하게 발전기 정지를 유발하여 계통 불안정 상태를 더욱 악화시킬 수 있기 때문에 종합적인 시간협조의 적정성 검토 필요성을 제안하였다.

  • 건축물 마감재료의 연소시 발생되는 독성가스는 대형화재로 인한 인명피해의 주된 원인 중의 하나이다. 현행 건축법에서는 건축물마감재료에 대하여 동물의 평균행동정지시간을 측정하는 가스유해성시험을 실시하고 있다. 본 연구는 동물시험이 아닌 NFPA 269에 의한 유효량분율(FED: Fractional effective does)을 이용하여 건축물 마감재의 독성지수를 도출하였다. 현행 가스유해성 평가 방법에서 사용되는 채임버(피검상자)를 이용하여 적외선분광분석 및 산소분석기로 연소가스를 정량 분석하였으며, NFPA269에서 규정하는 FED를 도출하였다. 몇 가지 건축재료에 대한 가스유해성시험의 평균행동정지시간과 FED의 상대적인 비교를 통해 연소가스독성평가를 수행하였다.

  • 무선 네트웍 환경에서의 이동컴퓨팅에서는 특성상 잦은 끊김과 높은 에러율 때문에 비연결시에도 수행을 계속할 수 있는 기능이 필요하다. 이러한 이동컴퓨팅 환경에서 비연결 수행기능을 제공하기 위해 많은 개념과 이론들이 제안되고 있다. 본 논문에서 마코프(Marcov) 모델링 기법을 이용하여 모빌 컴퓨팅 환경에서 비연결 수행상태를 포함한 평균 태스크의 수행시간을 분석하였다. 모빌 컴퓨팅 환경은 데이터 호딩(Data Hoarding), 비연결 수행(Disconnected operation), 정지(Stop)의 3가지 상태로 구성할 수 있다. 이러한 3가지 상태에서 여러 가지 입력 파라메터들(에러율 Error rate), 재연결율(Recovery rate), 태스크 수행 정지 확률(Stop), 호딩 오버헤드(Hoarding overhead), 재연결 오버헤드(Reintegration overhead)들이 태스크 수행시간에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 이러한 분석을 통해서 통신망 단절을 고려한 이동컴퓨팅에서 보다 효과적인 태스크 수행기법을 선택할 수 있다.

  • 전력시스템 등, 산업 전반의 많은 분야에 최적화 문제가 산재해 있다. 또한 이러한 최적화 문제를 해결하기 위한 많은 연구가 있었다. 특정 응용에 국한되지 않고 모든 응용에 적용 가능한 메타휴리스틱 알고리즘은 그 중 많은 비중을 차지하고 있으며, 가장 대표적인 방법은 유전알고리즘과 타부 탐색이다. 그러나 최적화 문제에 속하는 많은 문제들이 탐색공간이 방대하고 많은 제약이 존재하는 대규모 최적화 문제로서 기존의 메타휴리스틱 기법들을 그대로 이용해서는 빠른 시간 내에 최적의 해를 찾아내기 힘들다 본 논문에서는 대규모 최적화 문제의 하나인 발전기 기동정지 계획 문제를 해결하기 위하여 유전알고리즘과 타부탐색을 적용하고 그 성능을 분석한다. 그리고 각 방법을 병렬화하여 수행함으로써 병렬화를 통하여 시간상의 이득과 함께 부가 효과로서 집중화와 다각화의 효과를 얻을 수 있음을 보여준다.

  • We developed an approach to automatically synthesize time-stationary controllers for a given pipelined data path of Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs). This work consists of automated production of control specifications and Finite State Machine (FSM) Optimization. A FSM controller is implemented by performing horizontal partitioning so as to minimize the total controller area. We compared our approach to published work on FSM generation and optimization, and the results indicate large savings in total controller area.

Effects of target types and retinal eccentricity on visual search (시각탐색에서 표적 유형과 망막 이심율 효과)

  • Two experiments were conducted to investigate effects of target types and retinal eccentricity on the search of a target while both target and background stimuli were static or moving. A visual search task was used in both experiments. The retinal eccentricity was determined by five concentric circles increasing by the unit of 1.6 and the target was different from the background stimuli in either orientation(orientation target) or a distinctive feature(feature target). In Experiment 1 where both the target and background stimuli were presented statically, an interaction between retinal eccentricity arid target type was found. While search time of the orientation target was not affected by the retinal eccentricity, that of the feature target increased as the retinal eccentricity increased. In Experiment 2 where all stimuli were moving, the interaction effect was also found. But the reason was not the same as that in Experiment 1. In the moving condition, while the search time of the orientation target decreased consistently as the retinal eccentricity increased, that of the feature target was not affected by the retinal eccentricity. The implications and limitations of the present results were discussed with respects to the real world situations such as driving cars or flying airplanes.

  • In this paper, we introduce a cyber-physical intersection systems (CPIS) which intimately interconnects roadside units (RSU) located at intersection, on-board units (OBU) of moving vehicles, and smartphone apps. Based on the architecture of CPIS, we also present a green light optimal speed advisory based on the reference mobility models (GLOSA-RMM) to reduce intersection stopping time (IST) and fuel consumption. Based on several reference mobility models, the GLOSA-RMM determines the appropriate speed advisory by taking into account the current mobility and the intersection traffic light status, and then provides screen/voice GLOSA instructions to minimize the driver's distraction. We show that the GLOSA-RMM can reduce both the IST and the fuel consumption through the numerical results obtained from the prototype of the CPIS consisting of the OBU, the RSU and the smartphone app.

Effects of growth interruption on the photoluminescence characteristics of InGaAs/InP quantum wells (성장정지효과에 의한 InGaAs/InP 양자우물구조의 Photoluminescence 특성 변화)

  • The InGaAs/InP quantum wells(QWs) were grown by low pressure metalorganic chemical vapor deposition and the effects of growth interruption steps on their interfacial structures were investigated by measuring photoluminescence spectra. When InP or InGaAs surface was treated under the same group V ambient, the full width at half maximum (FWHM) of the QW peak increased possibly due to the incorporation of impurities during the growth interruption time. When InP surface was treated under $AsH_3$, howerer, the PL peak showed red-shift due to the As-P exchange reaction and the change of FWHM was not remarkable. The effective thickness of InAs interfacial layer formed during $AsH_3$, treatment on the InP surface was calculated to be 1~2 monolayers. In the case of InGaAs treatment under $PH_3$, the PL peak energy and the FWHM increasied. This results suggest that $PH_3$ treatment on the InGaAs surface suppresses the incorporation of As into the subsequent InP layer and the local replacement of As by P occurs simultaneously.

  • This paper presents a Case-Sort method to solve the unit commitment problem using database in electric power systems. The formulation of the unit commitment nay be described as nonlinear mixed integer programming. However, it is hard to optimize a problem with discrete and continuous variables in a large-scale system at the same time. The Case-Sort method is based on the unit[MW]generation cost considered drive hour. Then, this paper shows effectiveness and economical efficiency of the proposed algorithm.
