Harmonic Compositions and Progressions for Tonal Characteristics Based on Emotion Vocabulary (정서 어휘에 반영된 선율 특성에 적합한 화음 구성과 전개)

  • This study purposed to investigate harmonic compositions and progressions that are appropriate for emotion vocabulary. In study 1, eight(8) professional music therapists were asked to provide harmonic compositions and progressions reflecting the tonal characteristics of emotion vocabulary and the rationales. Various attributes of harmonic compositions and progressions were examined and the content analysis were administered. In study 2, the obtained data on study 1 were evaluated by 124 music therapy and music majors for the validity. In the first study, analyzed results showed that 'happy' vocabulary utilized major, tonic, consecutive chord changes, 'angry' vocabulary utilized minor, augmented, $9^{th}$, $11^{th}$, unsolved $7^{th}$ chord progression, 'sad' vocabulary utilized minor, diminish, chromatic chord progressions. In the second study, there was statistically significant difference with 'happy' vocabulary. These results can provide basic evidences for musical ideas of harmonic compositions and progressions to better communicate emotional aspects of lyrical messages when composing melody in a song.

Factors Influencing Turnover Intention in Clinical Nurses: Affective Events, Affect, and Job Satisfaction (임상간호사의 이직의도에 영향을 미치는 요인: 정서사건, 정서, 직무만족)

  • This research was conducted to investigate the influence of affective events, affect, and job satisfaction on clinical nurse's turnover intention and to provide guidelines for interventions and strategies to decrease turnover intention. The participants consisted of 296 nurses recruited from three general hospitals in South Korea. Data was collected by a structured self-report questionnaire, and were analyzed using SPSS Statistics 24.0 and AMOS 24.0. The final path model was a good fit for the data based on the model fit indices. In the path analysis, positive events, negative events, positive affect, negative affect, and job satisfaction had statistically significant effects on turnover intention, explaining 37.0% of the variance. This research provided evidence identifying factors influencing turnover intention in clinical nurses. Therefore, findings from this research can be used to design appropriate strategies to decrease the clinical nurse's turnover intention.

Risk Factors, Symptoms, and Intervention Analysis of Delirium Subtypes in Hospitalized Patients (입원환자에게 나타나는 섬망 아형별 위험요인과 증상 및 중재 분석)

  • This study aimed to investigate subtypes, risk factors, symptoms and the interventions to inpatients with delirium. The data of 108 inpatients who had the diagnosis of delirium during their hospital stay were collected from Electronic Medical Record at a university hospital and were analyzed by SPSS for Windows V. 26.0 program. As a results, Patients had a high proportion of elderly, male, orthopedic, and with fractures or amputations. The subtypes of delirium were hyperactive (51.9%), hypoactive (6.5%), and mixed (41.7%). Among the risk factors, depression and use of psychotropic agent were more common in those with hypoactive delirium. Among delirium interventions, behavioral symptom management and aggressive behavioral intervention were mainly implemented for those with hyperactive or mixed types, and emotional support was mainly implemented for those with hypoactive or mixed types. The delirium related intervention was more likely given immediately when the patients showed aggressive behaviors. Therefore, intervention strategies and protocol development are required for early detection of delirium in inpatients.

  • Today. the mental health has a great deal of impact on individuals and the society surrounding. Therefore. this research is to propose a way of bibliotherapical intercession by stages and patterns as to examine the recovery process of students with negative emotion by using the grounded theoretical method. This research collected materials through focus-interview, participant observation and book reports of 4 experiments involving female college students aged from 21 to 23, all having emotional and psychological difficulties. The recovery process of female students with negative emotion involved causal factors such as "recognition of hidden wound" "Sense of inferiority", and "difficulty in forming relationships", as well as contextual factors like "sympathetic attitude". which altogether brought about the core phenomenon. "pursuit for healthy ego". This core phenomenon induced to recovering the bright and positive attitude through using the strategies of 'self insight' and application of 'management plan', influence by such incoherent conditions as 'intimate surroundings' and $\setminus$ 'support system patterns'. And as time passed. the recovery process appeared tin four stages: 'issues recognition'. 'emotional responses', 'issue solution' and 'self application'.

Children's Academic Stress and Their Sense of Hopelessness - The Effects of Moderator on Children's Emotional Processing Style as Manifested in a Depressed Mood - (아동의 학업스트레스와 무망감 - 우울기분에 대한 정서처리 양식의 중재효과 -)

  • This study examined the relationship between children's academic stress and their sense of hopelessness. In order to expand the study on this relationship, special attention was given to the possible effects of moderators on children's emotional processing style as manifested in a depressed mood. The subjects were 424 $5^{th}$ and 6th graders(197boys and 227 girls) residing in Seoul City and Kyunggi Province, South Korea. It was found that the children's level of academic stress was significantly related to their sense of hopelessness. The results indicated that the higher the children's academic stress, the higher the levels of hopelessness they indicated. No significant effects from moderators as applied to a ruminative emotional processing style were found in the relationship between children's academic stress and their sense of hopelessness. In addition, children's reflective or distractive emotional processing styles were found to be a significant moderator in the relationship between their academic stress and hopelessness. These findings indicate that children's reflective or distractive emotional processing styles could function as a bumper for children who feel academic stress.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of health status on sleep quality and quality of life among elderly patients in geriatric hospitals. A survey was held to the elderly patient of 5 geriatric hospitals in Kyunggi-do and Busan from May 8 to May 28, 2013. As result of factor analysis, the health status divided to the 7 domain: Emotional function, Strength, Daily activity, social role, Change of body, Social function and pain. Pain and Emotional function revealed the negative effect on sleep quality and Change of body and Daily activity were positive effect on quality of life. In conclusion, it is need to improve sleep quality through finding pain and emotional problem in elderly patient, and in order to upgrade nursing in geriatric hospitals, it have to develop nursing strategies considering the geriatric hospital for health screening and health promotion to take care of daily activity and change of older's body.

Experience of non-Korean Traditional Musicians in the Process of Pansori Music Listening (비국악인의 판소리 감상과정에서의 경험적 요소)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the empirical elements of non-Korean traditional musicians in the process of Pansori music listening. 5 non-Korean traditional musicians who are not professionally trained Korean music were participated in this study. The data were collected in depth interviews and analyzed from modified ground theory method. The findings showed that the elements of performer's voice, Chang-bub, contents, Gosu's buk sound and Gosu's role evoked various physical, emotional reponses and thoughts in all listeners. Through these responses the listeners awared internal issues related to inner problems and positive intervention aroused inner feelings. Also, emotional responses and awareness were reorganized their negative emotion and resolved through the different dimension of Pansori music.

  • This study was attempted to improve the mental and psychological health of nursing students through the intervention of positive psychological programs using complementary alternative therapy. This study applied a Non-equivalent control group pre-test and post-test design to verify the effects of negative emotions, career decision making self-efficacy, self-compassion, and flourish in nursing students. The experimental group is the students who received the positive psychology program using complementary and alternative therapy, and the control group is the students who did not receive the program. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS Version 21.0 program. The experimental group showed higher career decision making self-efficacy, self-compassion, and flourish scores and lower negative emotion scores than the control group that did not participate in the education. After applying the positive psychology program using complementary and alternative therapy, it contributed to the expansion of the nursing intervention area using complementary and alternative therapy by reporting positive research effects on career decision making self-efficacy, self-compassion, and flourish.

The Effects of Emotional Burnout, Resilience and Job Embeddedness on Organizational Commitment in Clinical Dental Hygienists (임상치과위생사의 정서적 소진, 적응유연성 및 직무착근도가 조직몰입에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the associations among emotional burnout, resilience, job embeddedness, and organizational commitment, provide basic data for an effective dental care delivery system and manpower management, and promote organizational commitment in clinical dental hygienists. For data collection, convenience sampling was performed among dental hygienists working in Daejeon and Chungcheong and Jeolla Provinces from November 11 to December 30, 2019, and a self-administered questionnaire was used. Organizational commitment was positively correlated with resilience and job embeddedness and was negatively correlated with emotional burnout; emotional burnout was negatively correlated with resilience and job embeddedness; and resilience was positively correlated with job embeddedness. The factor most significantly affecting organizational commitment was emotional burnout, followed by resilience and job embeddedness. It is therefore necessary to give another consideration to a customized intervention strategy, which involves emotional burnout, resilience, and job embeddedness, in exploring a program that helps clinical dental hygienists maintain and manage organizational commitment efficiently.

The Mediating Effects of Difficulties in Emotion Regulation between Anger Expression and Interpersonal Problems of College Students (분노표현과 대인관계문제에서 정서조절곤란의 매개효과)

  • This study identifies the relationship between the anger expression and interpersonal problems of college students, and then confirms the influence on emotion regulation difficulties as a mediating effect. And, it was conducted to understand college students who complain of interpersonal problems and to provide basic data for developing programs that can solve their problems. As a result of the study, anger expression showed a positive correlation in interpersonal relations problem and emotion regulation difficulty, and interpersonal relations problem showed somewhat high positive correlation with emotion regulation difficulty. In addition, it was found that emotion control difficulties were partially mediated in the anger expression among college students and interpersonal relationships. In conclusion, we could see the need for future research to develop educational programs that reduce the difficulty of emotion control and lead to positive anger expression among college students, and intervention programs that can improve interpersonal relationships.
