A Cooperative Marketing Strategy using Mobile Communications: The New OB Mobile Campaign (모바일 채널을 활용한 협동적인 마케팅 전략: OB 맥주 신제품 모바일 캠페인)

  • As the mobile telecommunications industry in Korea boasts record-high revenue from its businesses, consumers and other industries are looking for new business applications and opportunities using mobile technologies. Many firms are seeking guidelines or business models for an effective use of this new mobile technology in their operations. This paper reviews the characteristics that distinguish mobile marketing, and analyzes marketing approaches which utilize the potential of the new mobile technologies. This paper shows that the new mobile advertising channel is not only complementary to traditional marketing channels, but also delivers benefits for multiple parties involved in mobile marketing. The key success factors in the new OB (Oriental Brewery) marketing campaign include a shortening of the stages in the AIDMA model and a broadening of customer contact points by exposing the brand through well-coordinated marketing efforts. The OB case shows that a mutually beneficial relationship between co-marketing participants can lead to a win-win marketing strategy. It also highlights that collaborative channel management in mobile marketing methodology is critical for successful mobile marketing.

Improving the Detection of the Water Mains Underground Facilities (상수도 지하시설물 탐사 개선에 관한 연구)

  • Water mains underground facilities are essential components to make up urban infrastructure. In order to manage these water mains underground facilities systematically and scientifically, GIS (Geographic Information System) had been constructed. For the sake of construction of GIS for water mains underground facilities, an exact underground detection and the construction of DB (Data Base) for buried water mains underground facilities should be preceded. In this study, in order to find out the ways to improve exact detection rate of data, the statistical analysis for the causes of detection raw degradation was done, and standardization methods of detection through a case study were suggested, When water mains underground facilities were measured, the detection of non-metallic water pipes was not carried out. The reason was that the results of detection was uncertain and detection was difficult because the assessment of public measurements was vulnerable. Moreover, due to the absence of standardized operating regulations for detection, systematic surveys weren't conducted. In this study, methods to standardize works over the detection of water mains underground facilities were presented so that we can improve the detection rate when we are doing that. As the proposals to improve detection rate, effective performance assessment over non-metallic pipes were presented, and related issues to supplement work regulations of public survey were described systematically.

  • This paper is designed to look for a specialized strategies by drawing the special features of Busan New Port from both a comparative analysis of major factors of harbor competitiveness and a SWOT analysis of Busan New Port and Yangshan Port, one of the biggest competitive ports in Northeast Asia, so that Busan New Port may preoccupy a status as the hub port of the area. The researcher would like to suggest the following measures to make Busan New Port serve as the central port of Northeast Asia on the basis of the findings; Korea should push ahead with creating a railroad transportation linking with Eurasia Contient, secure the amount of goods and resources with the help of the early development of the surrounding complex of the port, make a considerable progress in the level of port service, come up with a differentiation strategies for harbor marketing activities and improve its productivity.

  • The potential competitiveness for new routes and resources has been theoretically discussed with regards to the Arctic route but is gradually becoming a reality as global warming increases. In June of 2017, China officially included the Northern Sea Route (NSR) as part of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), and major countries' interests in the NSR are greatly expanding. This paper presents the general characteristics of the NSR, NSR development in China, the expected relationship between the NSR and the BRI, and this relationship's implications for Korea. The NSR has poor facilities and information infrastructure and is not economically viable for commercial navigation due to its high-cost conditions compared to competitive routes. In order to explore the Arctic and develop the NSR, large-scale projects must be funded over a long period of time; this has caused major difficulties in development. However, as the NSR is included in the BRI, there could be an opportunity to utilize BRI funds, such as Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). Further, China's NSR development and the NSR development of partner countries, such as Korea, should be further stimulated. As Korea has strengths in terms of its shipbuilding technology and geographical location, which is located at the core of the NSR, Korea would have chances to expand the economic cooperation and business opportunities with China and Russia.

  • This study is aimed at enhancing mobility rights for the transportation underprivileged that has been made light of relatively compared to normal people. In order to do this, we've suggested having ITS (Intelligent Traffic System) built and improving satisfaction through the test operation of its main system. The existing sound signal device for the visually handicapped has one problem with managing it. Because, the people in charge of it had to visit each problematic site directly to maintain and fix some problems every time it was out of order. Moreover, it couldn't provide sustainable services about voice guidance and the visually handicapped had to control it by either confirming the location of buttons that were installed on the pillar of traffic light and then pressing one of them or using a remote controller on their own. In order to improve such inconveniences, we have created a new typed sound signal device for the visually handicapped by applying the cutting-edge wireless technology based on ergonomics considering actual road situations. Such technology enables it report the status of signal device and light to them by using its voice guidance system automatically every time they have access to it. Additionally, we've already introduced it to a couple of test areas and then known the fact that they recognized traffic situation more conveniently and safely compared to the existing sound signal device. That is above average in terms of satisfaction. In addition to that, we've provided LTS (Location Tracking System - Location-based service intended for elementary students) by utilizing the existing wireless infrastructure and founded the fact that about 87% of their parents were satisfied with the service based on LTS.

  • With a population of more than 10 million people worldwide, MegaCity was only three in 1975, but it is expected to grow to 24 in 2013 and more than 30 in 2025 and more than 3 billion worldwide by 2050 It is expected to be absorbed into smart city. Especially in Asia and Africa, urbanization is expected to proceed rapidly. As the urbanization progresses and the population living in the cities increases, there are various problems such as rapid increase of energy consumption, congestion of traffic, various aging of the infrastructure and the like. As a result, smart city is emerging as a new alternative for solving urban problems. Smart City is rapidly expanding with the development of related technologies and can improve costs, improve urban services, improve quality of life, productivity and sustainability. Therefore, this paper analyzes the size and trend of the domestic and overseas smart city market, and analyzes the smart city related policies, trends and case studies of major countries to see the development status and market of smart city related industries, Present a business utilization model.

  • 4S (Ship to Ship, Ship to Shore) communication is the key to strategic development of e-navigation, a core element of IT vessel convergence. 4S communication is intended to integrate and standardize various communication infrastructures on land and communication equipment complying with communication equipment equipped in ships. This paper aims to apply the Korean technology IEEE 802.16e adopted as an international standard, to replace and compensate for existing vessel communication media such as low speed HF/MF/VHF to the ocean environment. To this end, various experimental conditions between the coast station where a relay station was installed and related equipment equipped on a ship are set. Communication signals were monitored and the RSSI and CINR were measured. Based on experimental analysis and results, various challenges and solutions which may occur in ocean environment were sought, and communication availability was analyzed through transmission data throughput, at the maximum effective distance range of the signal. It was proven that high speed multimedia data could be exchanged for up to 20 km even among 80km kph ships moving around near the sea, ensuring that this technology could be applied to the ocean environment.

  • 2010년 기준 세계 물산업은 약 4,800억불 규모이며, 2025년에는 약 1조 달러 규모로 성장할 것으로 전망된다. 또한 기후변화 등의 요인으로 물산업의 범위는 물순환체계 전과정을 포괄하는 "유역종합개발+상하수도+대체수자원"으로 확장될 것으로 예측된다. 그러나 지금까지의 국내 물산업 육성은 주로 상하수도 분야 중심으로 국한되어, 기후변화에 대응한 유역종합개발 분야에 대한 시장 진출기회를 상실하고 있다. 상하수도 중심의 물산업은 이미 선진 메이저 기업들이 선점하여 치열한 경쟁이 벌어지고 있는 '레드오션'이라 할 수 있으므로, 새로운 물산업의 강국으로 부상하기 위해서는 우리가 가진 장점을 바탕으로 물산업의 새로운 영역을 개척하는 방안에 대한 연구가 필요한 시점이다. 본 연구는 먼저 국내외 물순환체계 전과정(유역종합개발+상하수도+대체수자원)에 대한 시장 조사을 통해 세계 물산업 시장을 프로젝트 유형별, 지역별로 분석하고, 이를 토대로 국내 물산업 육성과 해외진출을 위한 당면 과제를 다음과 같이 제시하였다. 첫째, 민관협력을 위한 제도적 틀을 형성할 필요가 있다. 정부의 역할이 매우 중요한데, 정부 또는 기금이 자금의 단순한 대부자에서 적극적인 투자자로 전환함으로서 국내 민간기업들의 해외시장 진입장벽을 낮추어 줄 필요가 있다. 정부 주도의 민관협력이 활성화되면 참여 기업의 재무적 리스크를 현저히 줄일 수 있다. 또한, 상하수도 운영 경험을 축적한 공기업이 해외진출 지원기능을 수행하도록 하여야 한다. 즉, 공기업이 민간 기업의 경쟁자가 아니라 지원자가 될 수 있도록 프레임을 바꿔주어야 한다. 둘째, 물산업 클러스터의 형성이다. 물산업 제조업은 대부분 중소 벤처기업으로 독자적인 해외진출이 곤란하므로, 물전문 공기업이 중소 벤처기업 육성 및 해외진출의 앵커 역할을 담당하는 것이 필요하다. 이스라엘이나 싱가포르의 물산업 클러스터처럼 Anchor 역할을 행하는 공기업과 민간기업이 장기적 협력관계를 구축할 수 있는 기반을 마련해야한다. 셋째, 신시장 역량의 창출이다. 기후변화로 크게 성장할 전망인 통합물관리 시장에 대한 전략적 접근이 요구된다. 우선 ODA 등 대외 원조자금을 활용하여 투자비가 적게 들고 정보를 선점할 수 있는 조사 설계부터 시작하여, 댐 및 수력개발, 상하수도 건설 운영 등에 단계적으로 접근할 수 있을 것이다. 또한, 향후 도입될 예정인 물인프라의 Smart 기술, 첨단 수처리 기술 등을 활용하여 새로운 시장을 개척해야 한다. 4대강살리기 사업, 해수담수화 등 조기에 경쟁우위를 갖출 수 있는 사업과 기술을 Flagship Project로 브랜드화하여 우리나라를 "물강국"으로 포지셔닝할 경우 세계 물시장 공략에 보다 효과적일 것으로 판단된다.

A Case Study on High-Performance-Computing-based Digital Manufacturing Course with Industry-University-Research Institute Collaboration (고성능 컴퓨팅 기반 디지털매뉴팩처링 교과목의 산·학·연 협력 운영에 관한 사례연구)

  • Digital manufacturing (DM) technology helps engineers design products promptly and reliably at low production cost by simulating a manufacturing process and the material behavior of a product in use, based on three-dimensional digital modeling. The computing infrastructure for digital manufacturing, however, is usually expensive and, at present, the number of professional design engineers who can take advantage of this technology to a product design accurately is insufficient, particularly in small and medium manufacturing companies. Considering this, the Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI) and H University is operating a DM track in the form of Industry-University-Research Institute collaboration to train high-performance-computing-based DM professionals. In this paper, a series of courses to train students to work directly into DM practice in industry after graduation is reported. The operating cases of the DM track for two years since 2013 are presented by focusing on the progress in establishment, lecture and practice contents, evaluation of students, and course quality improvement. Overall, the track management, curriculum management, learning achievement of students have been successful. By expediting more active participation of the students in the track and providing more internship and job offers in the participating companies in addition to collaborative capstone design projects, the track can be expanded by fostering a nationwide training network.

  • 초고속인터넷 접속서비스 시장이 성숙 단계에 접어듬으로써 성장세는 급격히 둔화되고 경쟁환경은 심화되는 과정에서 통신사업자들이 기존의 신규가입자 유치 위주의 정책에서 벗어나 초고속인터넷 가입자 인프라를 기반으로 새로운 부가 서비스 및 차별화 된 서비스의 개발을 통해 가입자 확대 및 ARPU(Average Revenue Per Unit)를 중대 시킬 수 있는 수익원 개발이 절실하다. 이러한 상황하에서 통신방송 융합 서비스는 통신사업자에게 기회와 위협이라는 상반된 현상으로 다가오고 있다. TV-based VOD 서비스는 보다 양질의 멀티미디어 서비스를 원하는 고객의 수요와 신규 고객을 유치하고 가입자를 Lock-in 시키며, 타 통신 사업자의 고객을 자사 고객으로 전환시키고자 하는 차별화 전략의 일환으로 도입되기 시작하였고, 또한 ARPU를 증대 시키고 다양한 수익원 개발의 일환으로 인터넷 접속서비스 외에 부가가치를 창출 할 수 있는 Killer Service로서 주목을 받고 있다. TV VOD 사업이 성공적으로 국내 시장에 정착될 경우, 통신사업자에게는 여러 형태의 수익원 발굴이 가능할 것으로 예상된다. 즉 가입비, 월 이용료, 부가 사용료 등과 같은 포괄적인 형태의 가입비가 주된 수익원이 될 것이이며, pay-per-view(PPV) 형태의 이용료 역시 주된 수익원이 될 것이다. 이 외에도 셋톱박스, 홈게이트웨이/서버 등과 같은 단말기의 임대와 판매를 통한 수익 창출방안과 다른 서비스들과 마찬가지로 광고도 중요한 수익원천으로 활용 할 수 있을 것이며 또한 미디어업체 또는 CP(contents provider)를 대상으로, 보안, 인증, 과금, 결제, 회원 관리, 이용정보 제공 서비스 등도 사업자의 수익원으로 활용할 이 있을 것이다. TV-based VOD 서비스는 망 진화에 따른 차세대 초고속인터넷 서비스 기술인 VDSL이나 Advanced 케이블모뎀을 이용 DVD 급 고화질의 TV-based VOD 서비스가 시작되면서 ARPU를 증대 시키고 다양한 수익원 개발의 일환으로 인터넷 접속서비스 외에 부가가치를 창출 할 수 있는 Killer Service로서 VOD서비스가 주목을 받고 있다. TV-based VOD 서비스는 가입자망의 진화 와 밀접하게 연관되어 전개되는 서비스로 Post-ADSL에 대한 예측과 VOD에 서비스에 대한 설문조사 결과를 토대로 하여 예측 한 바에 의하면 Post-ADSL 가입자는 2003년 153만명에서 2004년 444만으로 증가하고 2006년 987만 명에 이를 것으로 전망되고, VOD서비스 가입의향도 16%에서 2006년 34% 까지 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 VOD서비스 가입자는 2003년 24만 명에서 2004년 98만으로 증가하고 2006년 335만 명으로 증가하는 것으로 예측되었다.
