Soil Loss Reduction and Stabilization of Arsenic Contaminated Soil in Sloped Farmland using CMDS (Coal Mine Drainage Sludge) under Rainfall Simulation (광산지역 비소오염 경사 농경지 토양의 안정화 및 유실 저감을 위한 석탄광산배수슬러지의 적용성 평가)

  • Soil aggregation begins with flocculation of clay particles triggered by interfacial reactions of polyvalent cation such as Ca2+ and Fe3+, and they are also known as important elements to control the mobility of arsenic in soil environment. The objective of this study was to investigate the feasibility of CMDS (coal mine drainage sludge) for soil loss reduction and stabilization of arsenic-contaminated soil in a 37% sloped farmland under rainfall simulation. The amount of soil loss decreased by 43% when CMDS was applied, and this result was not significantly different from the case of limestone application, which yielded 46% decrease of soil loss. However, the relative amount of dispersed clay particles in the sediment CMDS-applied soil was 10% lower than that of limestone-applied soil, suggesting CMDS is more effective than limestone in inducing soil aggregation. The concentrations of bioavailable arsenic in CMDS amended soil decreased by 46%~78%, which was lower than the amount in limestone amended soil. Therefore, CMDS can be used as an effective amendment material to reduce soil loss and stabilize arsenic in sloped farmland areas.

  • Objectives: To examine the effect of long-term Korean medicine treatment on mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Methods: This study was conducted on two patients who were diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment and received long-term Korean medicine treatment. In order to evaluate the degree of cognitive decline, SNSB and K-MMSE were performed 2~3 times at the first visit and during the treatment process. Results: Both cases 1 and 2 were diagnosed with MCI with a high possibility of developing dementia. In case 1, MCI progressed to early dementia at one year after the diagnosis of MCI. However, in case 2, that MCI status was maintained without progressing to dementia for 4 years after the diagnosis of MCI. The cause of such difference in the course of MCI might be attributed to the fact that Case 1 had lower K-IADL level but higher SGDS level than Case 2 at the time of initial diagnosis, with weak family support and irregular herbal medicine intake. Conclusions: Korean medicine treatment could improve and manage symptoms of cognitive decline due to MCI.

The process of capture and translocation during habitat restoration construction of Kaloula borealis - A Case Study of Samcheon Ecological River Restoration, Jeonju City - (맹꽁이 서식지 복원공사 중 포획 및 이주과정에 대한 연구 -전주시 삼천 생태하천 복원사업을 대상으로-)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for habitat restoration by implementing a series of processes of capturing and translocating Kaloula borealis and managing them in artificial breeding facilities. The study site in Samcheon, Jeonju-si, Jeollabuk-do was a waste landfill site in the past, and Kaloula borealis was found during the Samcheon Ecological River Restoration Project around March 2018. To restore the habitat, a plan was established to capture, translocate, artificially breed, and release Kaloula borealis at the site. The capture methods of adult Kaloula borealis were pitfall trap and drift fence, direct capture, and deep barrels. During 2018-2019, 86 adults of Kaloula borealis were captured and translocated to artificial breeding facilities. VIE-tagging was inserted under the skin for monitoring. For artificial breeding, Gryllus bimaculatus with oyster powder and vegetables were regularly supplied to feed Kaloula borealis. At the end of October 2020, 150 young Kaloula borealis raised in artificial breeding facilities were found not entering hibernation, so they were managed in a separate artificial breeding facility. Some young and adult Kaloula borealis currently hibernating will be scheduled to be continuously managed in artificial breeding facilities and released to the restored habitat in the spring of 2021.

  • We In this study, We tested for artificial intelligence-based virtual space story books were planned. The proposed virtual space concept, a story book with the characteristics of Augmented Virtuality, was implemented Several steps are needed to proceed with the virtual space storybook's story. First, a user brings a real object in to virtual space and recognizes the real object with an artificial intelligence-based object-recognition software. Second, when object recognition progresses, the virtual 3D model is augmented in the virtual space, which is then inserted into the virtual space and rendered. Finally, software projected a virtual space storybook on the desk in which users can touch and select real-objects. This virtual space storybook was implemented using the new story-making technology by applying the virtual space concept. the Augmented Virtuality concept is to augment real objects based on virtual space. To confirm this we tested a user test using the virtual space storybook. the user seemed as if can the distinction between real objects and virtual images. Also very well and that understood the process of putting the real objects in virtual space.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the main character characters of the movie [THE HANDMAIDEN]. All four characters in the movie [THE HANDMAIDEN] have in common is that they all have seen 'the Existence' and have the factors behind the villainous figure. Kozuki and Hideko had clear and typical symptoms, have been diagnosed as a structural layer of perversion and neurosis by Lacan's psychoanalysis Methodology. On the other hand, since Sook-hee and Ko-pandol have the nature of being a criminal, they have long been faced up to the existence. It was difficult to approach to the structural layer of psychoanlysis Methodology. Therefore, the PCL-R diagnosis used to analyze the personality type of Sook-hee and Ko-pandol and add structural analysis again. As a result, Kouzuki had an Sadist, Hideko had an obsessive compulsive and Sook-hee had an anti-social lifestyle, but she was in a normal emotional category. It was noted that the Ko-pandol was a potential Sadist and part of a sociopath.

  • This paper studied about environmental protection and Free Trade in FTA. FTA is representative means that maximize trade profit through free trade. But Regulation for environmental protection is infringing profit of free trade(FTA). It is the natural matter that the all countries must do environmental protection. but, measure for environmental protection must not be used on trade limited constituent. This study studied about enactment plan of environmental regulation to achieve two targets of environmental protection with trade liberalization. Study Finding is as following. First, it is that to apply existent environmental standard in the FTA expands trade liberalization. Second, need enactment of rule that can interchange Environmental Goods or a technology effectively. Third, there is necessity to establish procedural regulations and substantial regulations that refer environment problems. also to include comprehensive form in case of choose Multilateral Environmental Agreements is reasonable.

  • Objectives This research was aimed to analyze and assess the articles of qualitative research of Pediatrics by following Consolidated Criteria for Reporting Qualitative Research (COREQ). Methods Two researchers analyzed and assessed the reports' quality and appropriateness based on COREQ guideline. The articles that failed to achieve consensus from the two researchers, the third researcher made a final decision. Results A total of fifty-six reports which used caregivers as participants, were selected and adopted qualitative research methods were chosen. In most qualitative studies, COREQ was not implemented. Some parts of the studies were poorly described and elaborated when reviewing them based on the COREQ guidelines. In the 'Research team and reflexivity', there was lack of description about the researcher. In the 'Study design', there were no detailed descriptions on the approaches they took in recruiting their study participants. There was not enough detail reflexivity participants who refused, and where the recruitment took place. There were also no records of whether there was a pilot test or a data saturation. In 'Analysis and findings' section, there were few articles mentioning Participant checking, and the main opinion of the participants were well analyzed in all the papers, but excluding opinions of few participants. Conclusions There are still many qualitative studies that have caregivers as participants, in the field of pediatrics. However, methodological skills are insufficient. The use of the COREQ guidelines should be further implemented for more robust and methodological improvement.

Effect of Inoculum Density and Temperature on Clover Cyst Nematode, Heterodera trifolii (온도와 접종밀도가 클로버씨스트선충의 증식에 미치는 영향)

  • Clover cyst nematode, Heterodera trifolii are one of the major pests that damage Chinese cabbage in high land cultivation area and have recently been distributed in Korea. This study was conducted to investigate the effect of temperature and inoculation density on the proliferation of clover cyst nematode. The clover cyst nematode was proliferated at $15-30^{\circ}C$ and the egg, female adult and cyst number was the highest at $20^{\circ}C$. As the inoculation density increased, the number of female cyst nematodes increased with the inoculation density and when 16 eggs were inoculated per gram of soil, the amount of growth, number of egg and cyst was the highest. Number of females and eggs were formed more in cabbage than in kale regardless of inoculation density. Chinese cabbage was a favorable host for clover cyst nematode growth than kale.

  • This study aims to analyse the relationship between the sense of community and resident online participation. To solve a variety of social problems in localities, both resident participation and the sense of community have been getting more important. Online voting is a project that is being implemented by the city of Seoul to expand the participation of residents. We surveyed residents living in the apartment complex in Seoul that was participating in with the pilot program for online voting. The empirical analysis shows the sense of community was, indeed, positively related to resident online participation. In particular, shared emotional connection, a component of the sense of community, was the most important factor for the resident online participation.

  • A fog screen consists of tiny water drops and the viewers see the image transmitted through the fog screen. In contrast to ordinary screens, the viewers can see the actors passing through the image on the fog screen on stage. In this paper, we describe methods to build a top-down fog screen where fog particles generated in top space fall by gravity forming a flat vertical screen. We use a fog generation technique in which fog particles come out of the water surface when ultrasound vibrators immersed in water tank vibrate. We describe how fog particles form a flat screen while coming out of the fog passage tunnel, by generating guiding winds beside the fog screen. This technique utilizes the principle that fog particles are generated on the surface of a water tank by an ultrasonic vibrator placed in a water tank. The technique of forming a guiding wind on both sides of the passage exit where the fog comes out and the design and manufacturing method of the fog screen generating device are described so that the generated fog group can maintain one plane.
