Cost Models for Warranty and Preventive Maintenance

  • Warranty cost analysis for one-dimensional warranties assumes that the usage intensity (or rate) is the same for all buyers. In real life the usage intensity varies across the population of buyers. Also for products sold with warranty, preventive maintenance actions by manufacturers and buyers have a significant impact on the total costs for both parties. In this paper we deals with models to study the expected warranty cost for products with free repairable warranty with varying usage intensity and three types of preventive maintenance. We also review the literature which links warranty and maintenance and develops a framework to define new topics for research in the future and examines a new model formulation. It then develops a new model and carries out its analysis.

  • 경제력 집중에 따른 부작용을 원천적으로 치유하거나 시장규율을 통하여 치유하기에는 오랜 시간이 필요하고 그 효과가 매우 더디다는 점이 인정된다. 또한, 계열사간 출자, 지급보증, 그리고 상호주는 이론상 어느 정도 긍정적인 측면을 갖는 것도 인정되므로, 원천적 치유가 가능한 시기까지 존재하는 경제적 부작용을 필요악으로 인정하고 그대로 둘 것이 아니라 한시적이나마 정부가 일정한 역할을 할 필요가 있다고 할 때, 그리고 현 자본시장의 감시 및 견제기능이 제대로 작동하지 않는다고 파악할 때 경제력 집중을 억제하기 위한 정책수단인 출자총액제한, 지금보증, 그리고 상호주에 대한 규제는 어느 정도 설득력을 갖는다.

중소상공인의 금융현황과 보증

  • 본 연구는 2014년부터 2019년 9월 현재 신용보증기금의 자료를 이용하여 5,521 샘플의 중소상공인의 금융실태를 최초로 광범위하게 분석하였다. 중소상공인의 비중은 남성 장년층이 압도적인데 여성의 경우 청년의 비중이 높은 편이다. 기업 대부분에서 창업자와 대표자가 동일인이다. 상시 및 비상시 직원수는 5명이하가 83%에 달한다. 역시 80% 이상의 중소상공인이 2억 미만의 금액에 대하여 대출보증 서비스를 이용하고 있다. 신보의 재무등급점수는 100점 만점 중 10점 이하의 기업이 47%에 달한다. 2018년 연매출액 평균은 17억원 정도다. 같은 기간 중 부채비율의 평균은 361%다. 본 연구는 향후 중소상공인에 대한 연구와 정책개발에 중요하게 활용될 것으로 기대한다.

  • 최근 허가형 블록체인 기반 프로젝트가 늘어남에 따라, 블록체인 솔루션과 여러 응용 프로그램을 개발하기 위한 플랫폼인 하이퍼레저 패브릭을 도입하는 회사들이 많아지고 있다. 그러나 하이퍼레저 패브릭 네트워크 구성 시, 각 구성요소의 네트워크 지연 시간을 고려하지 않고 네트워크를 구성하면 트랜잭션 보증 시간이 늘어날 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 하이퍼레저 패브릭 네트워크에서 각 구성요소 간 네트워크 지연 시간 차이를 고려하여 트랜잭션 보증 시간을 줄이는 방법을 제안한다. 라우팅 테이블을 수정하여 네트워크 지연 시간 차이를 발생시켰고, 지연 시간과 트랜잭션 보증 시 걸리는 시간을 합산하여 트랜잭션 보증 시간을 측정하였다. 실험을 통해, 기존 방법의 트랜잭션 보증 시간보다 제안한 방법의 트랜잭션 보증 시간이 약 1/3 정도 감소하는 것을 확인하였다.

Empirical Study on the Validity of Construction Bond-related Litigations (건설보증(建設保證) 분쟁해결(紛爭解決)의 소송(訴訟) 유효성(有效性)에 관(關)한 실증적(實證的) 연구(硏究))

  • Of the numerious dispute resolution methods, Alternative Dispute Resolution(ADR) is the most highly recommended approach for the guarantee bond-related dispute. In reality, however, claims were not resolved satisfactorily through ADR because of the lack of reference materials for negotiation, thus those were frequently had to be resolved through litigation. The above fact implies that, it is required to seek an efficient way to resolve the bond-related claims prior to they progress to litigation. This research paper intensively investigated judicial precedents of 232 cases with regard to construction bond-related disputes that observed during the analysis period(2000-2004). According to the summary statistics, it turned out that litigation were time consuming and potential economic loss was tremendous; on average, it takes 1067 days(the longest case was 1965 days) for dispute resolution. It suggests that litigations should be discouraged considering the magnitude of potential loss of stake holders. Research results revealed that there are some significant differences between categories in some variables affecting to the rate of winning; i) the number of lawsuit deputies of a plaintiff (in the 1st trial), ii) dispute locations (in the 1st and 3rd trials), iii) contract price (in the 1st trial), iv) contractors' operating capability (in the 1st and 2nd trials). For the rest of variables, significance level between categories was too low for preparing efficient improvement plan. Despite the important implications drawn from the analysis, this research has limitation due to the several reasons such as data structure, the depth of Information, etc. Therefore, more systematic research should be followed in the future.

Guarantee Institutions' Risk in China: Evidence from Small and Medium Enterprises (중국 보증기관의 위험 결정 요인 : 중소형 기업을 중심으로)

  • In China, the commercial bank credit financing is the most important external financing channel for SMEs. However, the lack of credit guarantee significantly deters commercial banks to finance SMEs. which may generate a negative impact on the trade activities of SME in China. In this paper we examine the risk of credit guarantee for SMEs financing and the factors affecting this risk through a VAR (Value-at-Risk) model. Our analysis shows that the scale of enterprises' impact on the VAR (risk of financing guarantee) is not much relevant. We also find that the certainty of financing for SMEs, such as the fixed asset ratio, has a significant and negative effect on the VAR of Chinese credit guarantee institutions. The product uniqueness is positively correlated with the VAR, and operation risk is also positively related to the credit risk of Chinese credit guarantee institutions.

Evaluation of Applicability of Perovskite Dosimeter based on CsPbBr3 Material to Quality Assurance in Radiation Therapy (CsPbBr3을 기반으로 한 Perovskite 선량계의 방사선치료 Quality Assurance에 대한 적용가능성 평가)

  • In radiation therapy, accurate Quality Assurance (QA) is required to irradiate tumor tissue while minimizing damage to normal tissue. Therefore, a dosimeter that can accurately measure radiation is needed. The purpose of this study is to develop a highly efficient radiation dosimeter with high sensitivity by applying a particle in binder method that can reduce manufacturing costs and simplify processes to perovskite materials that are cheaper and simpler to manufacture. By evaluating the response characteristics to high-energy photon, the applicability of QA dosimeter to radiation therapy was evaluated. As a result of reproducibility evaluation, RSD at 6 MV energy was presented as 1.178% and 15 MV energy was presented as 1.141%. As a result of linearity evaluation according to linear regression analysis, R2 values of 0.9999 were presented under each condition of 6 MV and 15 MV energy. It was found that the CsPbBr3 dosimeter manufactured based on the results of reproducibility and linearity evaluation is highly applicable as a QA dosimeter in the field of therapeutic radiation. The CsPbBr3 dosimeter manufactured in this study presented more than the standard performance in the evaluation of reproducibility and linearity, and it can be used as a radiotherapy QA dosimeter through improvement.

  • The organization and company's effort to improve software qualify contributes to the increase of software productivity and quality in some sense. However, it has not been a solution of root causes. This result is caused not because of people or technology, but process in-stitutionalization. Recently SQA (Software Quality Assurance), which provide mechanism to make sure that the software development process and products follow the assigned requirements, plan and standards, is applied to achieve the quality improvements. Several standards and models are developed for SQA activities. However, those standards and mode]s are written in form and do not provide information related to the detailed procedures, methods and outputs. Therefore, the organizations that want to adopt those models or standards have to put a lot of effort to acquire the knowledge about the models and to set up SQA Process that is tailored to meet organization's goal and objectives. In this research, we developed SQA support package to support the organization to develop their SQA process in more convenient and systematic ways. With this package, the organizations can establish SQA Process by tailoring those features necessary to reflect organization's characteristics. We expect this package contribute the organizations in a way that it reduce the effort and cost for establishing SQA process.

The Advertising Effect on A.I. as an Endorser: Focusing on Innovativeness and Anthropomorphism of Consumer (인공지능(A.I.)의 보증인 광고효과 분석: 수용자의 혁신성과 의인화 영향을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study was to verify whether the endorser effect similar to humans can be created in advertising campaigns based on the artificial intelligence endorser. In particular, considering the characteristics of artificial intelligence, a research model was presented by convergence of consumer innovativeness and anthropomorphism. The results of the online survey of 244 respondents showed that expertise of the artificial intelligence endorser has a positive effect on both brand attitude and purchase intention, but not for trustworthiness while it has a positive effect on brand attitude. Also, the effect of consumer innovativeness and anthropomorphism on brand attitude and purchase intention for artificial intelligence was found. The endorser effect was expanded to artificial intelligence, which is an intangible object, and the existing theory and research results were combined to re-verify it. Theoretical and practical implications for artificial intelligence-based products and services were presented.
