Empirical Bayesian Prediction Analysis on Accelerated Lifetime Data (가속수명자료를 이용한 경험적 베이즈 예측분석)

  • In accelerated life tests, the failure time of an item is observed under a high stress level, and based on the time the performances of items are investigated at the normal stress level. In this paper, when the mean of the prior of a failure rate is known in the exponential lifetime distribution with censored accelerated failure time data, we utilize the empirical Bayesian method by using the moment estimators in order to estimate the parameters of the prior distribution and obtain the empirical Bayesian predictive density and predictive intervals for a future observation under the normal stress level.

  • The Exact-EM algorithm can conventionally fit a mixture of multivariate skew distribution. However, it suffers from highly expensive computational costs to calculate the moments of multivariate truncated t-distribution in E-step. This paper proposes a new SPU-EM method that adopts the AECM algorithm principle proposed by Meng and van Dyk (1997)'s to circumvent the multi-dimensionality of the moments. This method offers a shorter execution time than a conventional Exact-EM algorithm. Some experments are provided to show its effectiveness.

  • p62 is a key component of protein aggregates found in brains of neurodegenerative diseases in which oxidative stress is involved in the pathogenesis. p62 was induced in SH-SY5Y, a neuroblastoma cell line, by hydroxydoparnine or $C_2-ceramide$ known to be related to neurodegenerative diseases. The over-expression of p62 showed the neuroprotective effect against the ceramide induced cell death. In addition, p62 became insoluble and cleaved forms as time proceeded after the ceramide treatment, suggesting the mechanism by which p62 is associated with aggregates in neurodegenerative diseases.

  • 2013년 국내 시설(비닐, 유리 온실)에서 재배되는 토마토, 풋고추, 파프리카의 생산량은 총 632,315 톤으로 잎, 줄기 등 발생되는 부산물은 수확량의 약 30%에 해당되는 189,695 톤으로 추정되며 대부분 노지에 방치 유실되거나, 소각 처리된다. 본 연구에서는 이처럼 단순 폐기되는 농업폐기물을 재활용한 고형연료 제조에 필요한 건조장치를 개발하고 실험을 통해 그 성능을 확인하고자 하였다. 연구를 위해 건조용량 100 kg/hr인 실험실용 건조기를 제작하였다. 경상남도 진주시 농업기술원 온실에서 재배되는 파프리카, 토마토, 딸기, 가지, 고추 등의 부산물을 실험원료로 사용하였다. 원료성상, 원료이송방식, 송풍량, 건조온도, 건조시간에 따른 부산물 건조특성을 파악하였다. 원료를 비교적 짧게 절단하고 열풍이 배출되는 다공판위를 견인형 컨베어로 이송시키는 형태의 경우 건조실험 결과 세절된 원료에서 추출된 내부 수분이 외부로 유출되어 원료들 사이의 공극을 채워 건조공기가 원료층을 통과하지 못하게 하고, 특히 $100^{\circ}C$ 이상 고온에 노출되는 경우 원료표면에 잔류하는 유출 수분이 건조되면서 막을 형성하여 내부 원료들은 전혀 건조가 되지 못하는 현상이 관측되었다. 이러한 원료내부의 공극형성 불량으로 국부적으로 공기가 통과되는 부분만 집중적으로 급격한 건조가 진행되고 공급된 건조공기 대부분이 이 부분으로 유출되어 효과적인 건조가 전혀 진행되지 못하였다. 피건조물 사이의 공극형성을 위해 원료를 절단하지 않고 수행한 건조실험 결과 건조 풍량 및 온도에 따라 건조속도 및 처리용량이 다르게 나타나는 것을 알 수 있다. 특히 송풍량과 압력을 증가 시킨 건조 결과로 건조 상하층 간 불균일 건조 해소 및 건조속도, 건조능력에서 연구목표 치를 상회하는 결과를 보여준다. 특히 건조공기온도 $150^{\circ}C$ 이하에서 풍량을 증가시켜서 원하는 건조작업 수행이 가능함을 확인할 수 있었다.

Bolted Bonding Method of Steel Pipe Pile and Cap (볼트식 강관말뚝 머리보강 방법)

  • Present bonding methods which connect steel pipe and spread footing in pile foundation have been generally used. These methods however showed lots of difficulties in the quality control. A new bonding method, which is called 'Bolted Bonding Method(BBM)' , is developed. This method uses factory-made parts so that it may increase the degree of quality, and workability, and is being adopted in the Held concerned. The method is verified by the structural analysis and laboratory test and then a new design formula is proposed. In addition, a comparison test of the present methods and BBM are conducted to observe the applicability and economy of the latter. As results, it is observed that BBM shows 5 to 10 times faster in Held work and 9% to 50% cheaper in construction cost than the existing methods.

  • In the ALC(Autoclaved lightweight concrete) manufacturing process, if the pre-cured semi-cake is removed after proper time is passed, it will be hard to retain the moisture and be easily cracked. Therefore, in this research, we took the research by multiple regression analysis to find relationship between variables for the prediction the hardness that is the control standard of the removal time. We study the relationship between Independent variables such as the V/T(Vibration Time), V/T movement, expansion height, curing time, placing temperature, Rising and C/S ratio and the Dependent variables, the hardness by multiple regression analysis. In this study, first, we calculated regression equation by the regression analysis, then we tried phased regression analysis, best subset regression analysis and residual analysis. At last, we could verify curing time, placing temperature, Rising and C/S ratio influence to the hardness by the estimated regression equation.

  • This experiment was conducted out to investigate the effect of plant growth regulators on callus and shoot formation. The callus formation was effective on 1/2 MS medium containing 2,4-D, while shoot formation was suppressed. Shoot formation and differentiation were the highest in combination 0.1 mg/L of IAA and 0.1 mg/L of BA. The polarity of explants was investigated from cotyledon, which excised 20% of each basal and terminal parts. Formation of shoot was induced from excised ends of the basal part. In excised ends of the basal part, callus was induced vigorously and shoots were produced lately. Root induction was easily achieved in 1/3 MS medium from the adventitious shoot and more than 90% of regenerated plantlets acclimatized successfully and flowered normally.

  • A 12-day-old female baby underwent a Norwood procedure for hypoplastic left heart syndrome. The left superior vena cava (LSVC), which was found incidentally during the operation, was divided to facilitate surgical exposure. After the operation, she developed signs of low cardiac output and died 7 hours afterward. Autopsy findings showed that the coronary sinus was atretic at the orifice without unroofing into both atria, rendering the LSVC the sole route of coronary sinus drainage. In patients with incidentally-found LSVC during surgery, special care should be taken to leave the LSVC intact because the LSVC may be the exclusive drainage vein of the coronary venous system.

  • Customer Lifetime or Customer Lifetime Value is a essential metric of differentiated CRM marketing and differentiated marketing strategy as a company core competency. However, customer lifetime used in companies is easily obtained from a confined simple customer attrition rate at some specific time point regardless of customer characteristics. In this study, in order to overcome the constraints of previous simple methods and to make practical use of it in industries, we suggest a method that estimates a customer lifetime using a customer segment based survival analysis with the censored data of customers; in addition, we apply this method to A mobile telecom company data. A method using customer segment based survival analysis is suggested in this study 1) includes all customers having different subscription dates, 2) reduces individual error, 3) can reflect trends after the observed time point and is more realistic.

Comparison Study of Germination and Cooking Rate of Several Soybean Varieties (콩 품종에 따른 발아속도와 익힘속도의 비교)

  • Seven varieties of soybeans (Paldal, Danyeob, Jangbaek, Baegun, Jangyeobkong and 2 cultivars of Local 1 and Local 2) were investigated to compare the germination properties and cooking rate. The growth rate of soybean sprout roots was slower for larger size of soybeans. A 100% of germination was obtained for Danyeobkong and Paldalkong. Local 1 and Local 2 were lowest, 47% and 31%, respectively in germination ratio. The hardness of cooked soybeans measured by the maximum cutting force of cotyledon showed that Local 2 was softer and Danyeobkong was harder than other varieties.
