Entropy and AMBE-based Threshold Selection (엔트로피 및 평균밝기오차의 절대값에 기반한 임계값 결정)

  • Entropy used for measuring the richness in details of the image and absolute mean brightness error(AMBE) providing a change in the image global appearance are two quantitative measures generally used for measuring quality of images. In this paper, we propose an entropy and AMBE-based thresholding method to binalize a given image. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated by thresholding experiments on nine test images and comparison with other conventional thresholding methods, that is, Otsu method and entropy-based method.

  • A new predictive scheme to calculate hydrocarbon enthalpies of formation from ab initio total energy calculations is described. The method improves a previous computation procedure (based on the total number of atoms) through the inclusion of bond parameters. Present results are good enough and the average absolute errors in the computed values of enthalpies of formation are lower than the experimental uncertainties. Some possible extensions are pointed out in order to reach definitive conclusions about the proposed methodology.

  • The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the applicability of GPS data for real-time traffic information collection especially after SA removal. Two major results have been reported. One is the GPS data availability and/or useful data point density for travel time estimation using Circle-X algorithm. 87.23% of data points can be mobilized after SA whereas only 29.94% of data was useful in calculating travel time. The other is the possible reduction of the buffer size that is used for screening the points of all GPS into useful and useless data, respectively. With these outcomes, it is safely expected that the regular GPS alone can provide the data points for real-time travel time estimation instead of the more expensive DGPS system.

  • 본 논문에서는 입력 신호인 정현파의 위상을 PGZC(positive going zero corssing)에 대해 한주기당 2회씩 추적하도록 하는 디지털 위상도기 회로(DPLL)을 제시한다. 제시된 루루프는 한 주기당 2번의 표본화를 갖도록 함으로써 한 주기당 하나의 표본을 취하는 기존의 DPLLqhek 정상 상태에서의 위상오차 변동범위가 전체적으로 1/2로 감소되었고, 연속 표본들간의 오차와 양자화 준위의 선택에 따라서 루우프의 천이 응답이 좋아짐을 알 수 있었다. 그 해석적 결과를 실제적으로 요구되는 조건류에 대하여 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션을 행함으로써 검증하였다.

  • 광섬유는 코어(Core), 클레드(Clad), 그리고 1,2차 코팅(Coating)으로 구성되어 있다. 본 연구에서는 광섬유의 코팅에 생기는 결함의 유무 및 종류와 크기를 분류하는 Vision System을 구현하였다. 전처리 과정으로, CCD Camera를 이용하여 얻은 화상에 대하여 Sobel 연산자로 경계선을 추출하고, 문턱값(Threshold Value)을 적용하여 이진 화상을 만든다. 외경 정보 추출을 위하여, 투영 정보, 수리 형태학(Mathematical Morphology)적 연산을 수행하고, 결함의 종류와 크기를 효율적으로 분류하도록 Tree Classifier를 설계하였다. 실험 결과로서 각 결함 별 오차율, 전체 오차율(Total Error Rate)등을 제시하였다.

  • 본 논문은 희소어레이의 패턴을 원하는 패턴과 실제 희소어레이의 패턴간의 오차의 계수적 자승치를 최소화하여 최적화하는 방법을 제시한다 센서의 간격이 어레이 중심에 관하여 대칭인 경우와 비대칭인 경우에 대하여 성능을 점검하며, 어레이 공간의 주어진 영역의 오차함수에 성능 향상을 위하여 계수를 적용한다. 주빔 부근의 측면롭의 효과적인 제어를 위하여 지수 함수적인 계수를 제안하였으며 그 결과 측면롭의 수준이 전체적으로 균등하게 분포되는 패턴을 얻을 수 있었다. 이 결과는 입력잡음신호가 어레이 공간상에 균등하게 입사될 때 효과적으로 사용될 수 있다.

  • 낱별의 광전측광 관측을 위하여 두 가지 컴퓨터 프로그램을 개발하였다. 하나는 자료수집 (data aquisition), 자료의 표시, 통계처리, 오차추정, 대기상태의 모니터링 등을 다루는 실시간(實時間, real time) 측광제어 프로그램이고, 다른 하나는 하룻밤 관측의 도중 또는 관측 종료 직후에 수집된 자료 전체를 입력 파일로 만들어 주면 대기소광계수 결정과 표준계 변환 및 오차 추정을 해 주는 자료분석(資料分析, data reduction) 프로그램이다. 두 프로그램은 모두 임의의 다색측광계(多色測光系)에 대해서 입력 과일에 필터의 갯수, 색지 수의 정의 등 필요한 자료만 써주면 수행 가능하도록 일반화되어 있다.

Improved Vector Error Diffusion for Reduction of Smear Artifact in the Boundary Regions (경계 영역에서의 색번짐 현상을 줄이기 위한 향상된 벡터 오차 확산법)

  • This paper proposes a vector error diffusion method for smear artifact reduction in the boundary region. This artifact mainly results from a large accumulation of quantization errors. In particular, color bands with a smear artifact, the width of a few pixels appear along the edges. Accordingly, to reduce this artifact, the proposed halftoning process excludes the large accumulated Quantization error by comparing the vector norms and vector angles between the error-corrected vector and eight primary color patches. When the vector norm of the error corrected vector is larger than those of eight primary color patches, the quantization error vector is excluded from the quantization error distribution process. In addition, the quantization error is also excluded when the angle between eight primary color patches and error corrected vector is large. As a result, the proposed method enables a visually pleasing halftone pattern to be generated by all three color separations into account in a device- independent color space and reduces smear artifact in the boundary regions.

Performance Analysis and Evaluation of Hybrid Compensation Algorithm for Localization (하이브리드형 위치인식 보정 알고리즘 성능 분석 및 평가)

  • In this paper, the hybrid compensation algorithm($A_{HB}$) for localization using the Compensation Algorithm distance($CA_d$) and the Algorithm of Equivalent Distance Rate(AEDR) in SDS-TWR(Symmetric Double-Sided Two-Way Ranging) is suggested and the performance of the proposed algorithm is analyzed by practical experimentations. From experimentations, it is confirmed that the errors are reduced in 28 coordinates of total 32 coordinates in the experimental region and the errors are reduced about above 70% in the assigned 3 type error level ranges by $A_{HB}$. Also, it is analyzed that the average localization error is reduced from 2.67m to 1.19m as 55.4% in total 32 coordinates by $A_{HB}$ and the error compensation capability of $A_{HB}$ is very excellent as above 90%. From above results, we have seen that the error reduction ratio and error compensation capability of $A_{HB}$ is more excellent than each $CA_d$ or AEDR.

Application of Slope-area Discharge Estimation Method using Continuously Observed Water Level Data in a Gravel Bed River -Case Study of the Dal Cheon River- (자갈하천에서 연속적인 수위 자료를 이용한 경사면적법 유량 산정 -달천 사례연구-)

  • In this study we calculate discharge by slope-area method using continuously observed water level data and analyse the results. This study is performed in the Dalcheon river reach of 960 m length including riffles and a pool, which is located downstream of the Goesan Dam. Three values of roughness coefficient are applied to discharge calculation, which are established using bed material size analysis. Another roughness coefficient value obtained from the river improvement plan is also used. Calculated discharges by slope-area method are compared with dam discharges. Relative difference from dam discharges appears to be largely affected by roughness values and a value of 0.042 or more seems most suitable for the entire study reach. Smaller roughness value is suitable to the reach which has gentler water surface slope than mean channel slope of the entire study reach, while a larger value to steeper reach. In case roughness value is set considering overall slope of the channel, it is desirable to select the entire calculation reach including both gentler and steeper sub-reaches. Since relative difference becomes nearly constant at over 500 cms, in case that verification of applied roughness is conducted with other directly measured discharge, accuracy of measurement by slope-area method for larger discharge may be improved.
