This study attempted to investigate users' information needs in an educational research library, which delivers web-based digital reference services to library users, by analyzing reference questions asked by remote users. A total of 242 questions from two electronic bulletin boards was examined in terms of 6 types of questions asked and 23 subareas of education. The study found that 56.1% of reference questions on the library bulletin board were pure reference questions in curriculum, textbooks and teaching & instruction. Suggestions for effective use of digital reference services were made: easy access to menu services, use of web forms, development of digital reference systems providing search functions and response functions.

This research suggests the standard reference needed for constructing the bibliographic descriptive national science citation index(KSCI). There are several types of analysis: the APA style, the MLA style, the Chicago Manual Style, and the Korean major periodical's style in Library and Information Science. The core elements are author, title, and issue. We propose the Author-Date system, and Note and Bibliography form. For citation of books only available online, the URL must be included as a part of the citation along with its record of most recent access, and retrieval.

새로운 대용량의 정보매체로서의 CD-ROM이 갑자기 표면으로 나타났다. 미국에서 3년후에는(1987년 당시) 일화 2,000억엔 (약 9,400억원)의 시장이 될 것이라는 예측도 있고 해서 데이터베이스업계의 전략 목표로 되어있다. 일본에서도 금년(1987년)부터 상품화의 움직임이 활발해 지고 있으나 On-Disk 데이터베이스로서, 혹은 전자출판물로서 CD-ROM 비즈니스는 정보시장을 석권할 수 있을 것인지. 여기서는 주로 미국의 Application예를 참고로 하면서 이 새로운 광디스크 매체의 시장성과 금후의 동향에 대해 전망 해 봤다.

The purpose of this study is to select factors that its impact on subscription of the package type e-journal in Korea. In order to accomplish this study, factors to select the package-type electronic journal are discussed through preceded research literatures, and presented the factors for subscription of the package-type electronic journal based on KESLI materials. As a result, ten evaluation categories and thirty-four evaluation factors are selected as e-journal evaluation elements.

본 고에서는 ATM 기반망의 PNNI 규격인 B-ISUP과 PNNI 규격의 특성을 비교, 분석하고 국내 초고속정보통신망에의 적용성을 분석하였다. 지금까지 WAN을 비롯한 대부분의 ATM 망은 PVC 기반으로 동작하도록 구축, 운용되고 있으나, 한편으로는 사용자가 요구한 다양한 호, 연결의 설정과 해제를 on-demand로 지원할 수 있는 SVC 능력이 요구되고 있는 실정이다. ATM 망에서 SVC 기반 서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 on-demand 호/연결 제어를 위한 UNI와 NNI 신호능력이 제공되어야 한다. ATM 망의 NNI 규격으로는 ITU-T의 B-ISUP 규격과 ATM Forum에서 정의한 PNNI 규격이 고려될 수 있다. B-ISUP과 PNNI 규격은 각기 공중망과 사설망에의 적용을 목표로 만들어졌으므로 두 규격간에는 여러 가지 면에서 서로 상이한 점이 많다. B-ISUP 프로토콜은 동적 라우팅보다는 망운용자의 제어에 의한 계획된 라우팅이 요구되는 망에 적합하며 상대적으로 신뢰성이 우수하고 구조가 단순하다. 이에 비해 PNNI는 토폴로지나 주소체계 등이 자주 바뀌는 경우 자동적 업데이트가 지원되며 QoS 지원이 가능한 동적 라우팅 능력을 갖는 대신에, 상대적으로 복잡하고, 신뢰성 있는 연결 제어가 미흡하다. 본 고에서 분석한 내용은 우리나라 초고속정보통신망의 NNI 규격 적용의 기준 정립을 위한 참고자료로 활용될 수 있다.

인터넷의 확산으로 인해 전송, 서비스 및 보안과 관련된 많은 장비들이 개발되고 출시되고 있다. 서비스 및 보안과 관련된 장비들은 새로운 개발과 급속한 도입으로 인해 적절한 성능측정방법의 부재로 인해 많은 혼란과 문제들을 가져오기도 했었다. 이에 장비를 도입하는 기관들은 전문 시험기관의 시험과 평가를 거쳐 발행된 성적서나 보고서를 참고하거나 직접 벤치마킹테스트를 거쳐 도입을 결정하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 IP 네트워크 장비들의 성능측정을 위한 방법들을 분석하고 표준으로 제정된 시험 방법론을 분석하여 시스템 성능측정을 위한 메트릭을 제시하고자 한다.

여러 분야에서 computer의 이용이 활발해짐에 따라 computer에 대한 올 바른 이해와 일반이 널리 이용할 수 있는 편리한 사용법의 연구를 필요로 하여 본 연구소 전자계산실에서는 computer언어의 한글화를 착한하여 Automatic Language Translation과 이를 활용한 한글 program의 일반화를 시도하여 보았 다. computer에 의한 번역은 1950년부터 연구의 대상이 되어 1960년 Harvard 대 학의 Oettinger교수 team에 의한 Russian$\longrightarrow$English 번역을 계기로 현재 각 국에 서 활발히 연구 개발 중인 테-마이다. 특히 개발 도상에 있는 우리나라로써는 이 과제를 해결하여 선진국의 기술정보, 학술 논문, 참고 서적 등을 어학능력에 구애 됨이 없이, 광범위하게 접할 수 있게 된다면 국가적인 발전에 기여할 수 있음은 물론 교육적인 견지에서도 다대한 역할을 할 수 있을 것이다. 언어는 특수한 지 역의 환경과 공동 관심속에서 고래의 뿌리깊은 전통과 관습으로 계승되어온 의사 전달의 매개체로써 특종의 適否에 대한 외적 조건을 만족시켜야 한다는 점이 분 명하여 생성된 문장들이 그 언어를 사용하는 토박이에게 충분히 용납되어야 한다 는 점에서 한 언어를 다른 언어로 번역하는데는 허다한 난점이라는 가정하에 무 한수의 문장을 만들어 낼 수 있다는 가능성을 가진 것으로 일종의 반복 장치를 가지게 되면 무한수의 문장을 생성할 수 있다는 이론을 근거로 한글 program, 한 영 번역 및 영한 번역의 실험 작업 단계에서 그 중간 과정을 소개해 본다.

The digital library operated in the environment of computer-mediated-communication offered new successful alternative plans for the field and communication methods of the information services that have been provided by the traditional library and this causes the traditional library to move to the new paradigm. In this situation, the information services of the digital library raised the necessity for the communication channels that would cope actively on the spot and for the extention of information services that would supply an unspecified number of the general public with a considerable extention of information services that neglect time and space. This study looked into the communication channels in general for interactions between the digital library and the users in the environment of computer-mediated-communication and observed patterns of communication chennels that the digital library could supply. For the development of the communication model in the digital library, the study presented the communication model for effective information services.
