Management of Electronic Navigational Charts Using XML Database (XML 데이터베이스를 이용한 전자해도의 관리)

  • Electronic Navigational Charts (ENCs) are digital charts encoded in S-57 format, which contain navigational informations such as coastlines, depth areas, and nautical marks. Although they have been successfully used for the safe navigation of ships, they have limited usages and applications because of their specialized data format and access systems. To cope with such drawbacks, S-57 ENCs need to be transformed into more generalized format such as Geography Markup Language (GML). The transformed GML ENCs can be kept in a database for efficiency, and can be accessed through Internet for usability. This paper proposes a new method for transforming and managing ENCs with XML database. S-57 ENCs are lust transformed into GML format, and then stored in a XML database. On the database, users can query for their needs. To validate the feasibility of the proposed method, we developed a protype system, and then conducted several test runs. The system can provide users with easy access to the marine information contained in ENCs. It also provides compatibility and efficiency by virtue of GML and XML database, respectively.

  • Sea operation monitoring system is a system for the automatic ship operation that is used on the variety sea operations such as laying optical cables on the sea between the countries, laying cables on the seabed for a remote island, laying pipelines for the natural gas, and so forth. This system processes data which obtained through setting up environment and input from several sensors, and display GPS information with ENC data. And this system processes not only data of route file about sea operation, but also realtime information from PDA of client wirelessly connected with AP on wireless LAN. In addition, this system can improve efficiency of the operation as a result of enabling free movement within valid range. This paper design and implementation monitoring system from above appropriate to the embedded system, and improve competitive power of ship through prevention of a ship accident, to keep minimizing operation loads and support both the automatic ship operation and the safety voyage.

  • Studies on autonomous ships has received a lot of attention, recently. However, a study on autonomous navigation assistance service for Navigation Assistance Service(NAS) which is second item of Maritime Service Portfolio(MSP) suggested by IMO was not studied. Therefore, in this paper, we derive information items for autonomous navigation assistance service and research on a display system for displaying the items.

  • 새로운 무선 통신 인프라로 크게 부각되고 있는 HAPS(High Altitude Platform Station) 시스템은 국제 표준화 및 기술 기준을 정립하는 국제전기통신연합(ITU)의 최고 의결회의인 세계전파통신회의(WRC)에서 HAPS용 주파수를 분배함에 따라, 선진국을 중심으로 HAPS 상용화를 위한 연구개발이 활발히 진행중에 있다. 특히, 우리나라와 인접한 일본은 정부의 적극적인 지원과 산/학/연의 효율적인 공조 체제를 바탕으로 HAPS 개발과 관련하여 과히 세계 선두 진열에 들어서 있다고 해도 과언이 아니다. 아직 HAPS 개발에 필요한 기술적, 재정적 기반이 부족한 우리나라로서는 이웃한 일본의 연구개발 동향을 항시 주시하고 정확하게 분석한다면 향후 독자적인 연구개발 수행 시 많은 도움이 될 것이다.

  • IT related services are available in the shipborne and maritime area. As their service requirements are requested diversely, the safe and reliable embedded system based device needs increase. There are two categories in embedded system : communication/control system and various user interface needed service system. In this paper, we propose the classification of embedded system in the shipborne and maritime area and provide two reference embedded system platforms and their components. One is low-level embedded reference platform of communication/control system and the other is high-level embedded reference platform of user interface oriented system.

  • 최근의 전자업계의 동향을 살펴보면, 휴대 가능한 제품의 요구가 증대되고, 고 집적화 됨에 따라 제품의 크기와 동작속도 뿐만 아니라, 소모하는 전력의 양이 큰 문제로 대두되었다. 더욱이 휴대 장비에서는 전지의 양이 제한되어 있기 때문에, 소모 전력을 줄이는 것은 중요한 문제이다. 휴대 장비가 아니라고 해도, 높은 전력소모를 보이는 제품은 안정된 동작을 위해 값비싼 냉각장치 등을 필요로 한다. 이와 같이 전력소모를 줄이거나 예측할 수 있는 CAD tool에 대한 개발이 시급한 상황이다. 이제까지의 업계의 경향은 물리적 단계의 소모전력을 분석하는 tool의 개발 쪽에 한정되어 있었다. 하지만 이러한 하위 단계에서의 tool은 제품 생산 직전의 단계에서 이루어짐으로, 제품이 원하는 규격에 맞지 않을 경우, 재생산의 비용과 시간의 손실이 크다. 따라서 보다 상위 단계에서의 소모전력 예측 tool의 필요가 증가하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 기대에 발맞춰 gate 단계에서 소모전력을 예측할 수 있는 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 제안한 알고리즘은 입력 신호와의 의존성을 줄이기 위해 확률을 이용한 방법을 기초로 하였으며, 알고리즘의 정확성을 입증하기 위해 시스템을 설계, HSPICE를 이용한 시뮬레이션 결과와 비교하였다. 본 논문에서 제한한 알고리즘을 이용하여, 널리 알려진 시스템(ISCAS 85, ISCAS 89)의 소모전력을 예측한 결과, 시뮬레이션을 통해 얻은 결과와 비교해 봤을 때, 10% 이내의 오차 한도를 가진 것으로 분석되었다.

  • Currently, ECDIS and GPS plotters are much used as equipment providing operators with route information, but they do not have any function of automatic route creation and route explanation, so available for only experienced operators. Especially, the present situation is that no study is made of the automatic route creation and route explanation using ENC for ECDIS, substitution system of paper chart. ENC is the electronic navigation chart that is produced using S-52, 5-57 standard format required by IHO. In this paper, an Navigation Guiding System(NGS) is proposed to generate an optimal route where ENC and GPS data is fusioned including the wind direction and speed of an anemometer. The proposed system was testified by a simulation, and its effectiveness was verified.

Therefore, the information is encrypted during the transfer of electronic documents even if hackers trying to Sniffing because its contents can never understand. Of internet shopping mall in the user authentication 'and' Communications' SSL secure shopping mall built with the goal of the methodology are presented.

  • The study revealed that the companies are still reluctant to stop using document-based payment methods although they are aware the use of electronic payment system would reduce express and save time. Considering problems that are suggested in the conventional payment method, more companies will introduce and utilize the electronic payment system. Moreover, as the refined electronic payment system is essential in electronic trade, active studies on this field would greatly contribute to the development of electronic payment system. The prevailing settlement of international trade still relies on trading documents while the legal issues are not finalized for electronic bill of lading (B/L) and electronic bill. This research purpose on comparing some e-trading models in character and presenting the obstacles of e-trading activation and the solutions. e-trading models this research has studied are BOLERO, TradeCard, electronic L/C etc. Comparing characteristic points of the e-trading model in this article are as follows; 1)Access ways as a global e-trading model, 2)Structural and Functional characteristic, 3)Role as a global e-trading model, 5)Legal and Application issues in practice, 6)Security issues for Technology. But Further studies on this subject would be needed.
