Excluding the Control Prefixes on Asynchronous Secure Communication (안전한 비동기 통신에서 제어접두문자의 제거 방법)

  • 본 논문에서는 비동기 프로토콜 상으로 데이터를 암호화하여 전송할 때 발생하는 모의 제어문자에 대해 제어접두문자를 추가하지 않고 일정한 변환만 하여 송신하므로써 데이터의 길어짐을 방지하고 전체 통신 속도를 높이는 문자 변환 방법을 제시하였다. 이러한 변환을 위해 전송 데이터의 유효 범위를 가정하고 이 범위를 벗어나지 않도록 하였으며 실험을 통하여 이 방법이 기존의 방법에 비해 통신속도가 향상됨을 보이고 암호화된 데이터의 임의성을 확인하므로써 암호화에 문제가 없음을 보였다.

  • 본고에서는 스마트 TV의 대표적인 서비스인 OTT(Over-The-Top)서비스의 전송 방법 중 최근에 가장 주목을 받고 있는 HTTP에 기초한 적응적 스트리밍 기술을 알아본다. 먼저, 최근 MPEG등 각 표준단체에서 진행되고 있는 HTTP 스트리밍 기술의 표준화 범위 및 진행 상황에 대해서 살펴보고, 표준화 범위 중 핵심이 되는 메타데이타 파일 구조 및 청크 단위의 전송 포맷 및 기존 시스템 포맷의 확장 사항 등에 대해서 설명한다. 마지막으로 MPEG DASH(Dynamic adaptive streaming over HTTP)의 basic on-demand profile에 기초한 구현 내용 및 결과를 소개한다.

  • 본 논문은 고속 전력선 통신을 위한 기댐으로 주파수 범위 0∼30MHz에서 BER 개선을 목적으로 DMT 방식을 실험하였다. 송신단에서 길쌈 부호화 방법을 사용했고, 수신단에서는 비터비 알고리즘을 이용해서 복호화 하였으며, 프레임 동기를 위해서 cyclic prefix를 사용하였다. 전력선 채널 특성을 고려하여 거리에 따른 채널 모의실험을 통해서, 코헤어런트 신호를 분석한 결과에 의해 BER을 우수하게 전송시키는 변조 방식을 분석함으로써 전력선상에서 DMT 특성을 이론적으로 분석하여 정보 전달 범위의 효과를 높일 수 있는 방안을 제시하였다.

Random Backoff Scheme of Emergency Warning Message for Vehicle-to-Vehicle Communications (차량 간 통신에서 충돌을 완화하기 위한 랜덤 백오프 방안)

  • In this paper, we propose a random backoff scheme for Emergency Warning Messages (EWMs) in the vehicle-to-vehicle environment. The EWMs are disseminated from a vehicle that detects an emergency situation to other vehicles in a multi-hop fashion. Since the vehicle-to-vehicle communication based on IEEE 802.11 adapts CSMA/CA, the density of vehicles increase the probability of collisions between transmissions. Moreover, in the presence of background traffic, the EWM should have a higher priority than that of other messages in neighboring vehicles. To that end, we propose the Distant-Dependent Adaptive Backoff (DDAB) scheme, which set a different contention window for random backoff depending on the distance from the sender to the receiver. In the case when a vehicle is expected to located in the outskirts of the communication boundary, the proposed scheme makes the contention window size small in order to compete the background traffic transmission. Otherwise the contention window is set to a large number to reduce the collision possibility among the EWM transmissions. Via simulations, we show that the proposed scheme performs better than the previous schemes for EWM.

An UDT(Up-Down Tree) Routing Algorithm for Energy-Efficient Topology Construction in Wireless Sensor Networks (무선 센서 네트워크에서 에너지 효율적인 토폴로지 구성을 위한 Up-Down Tree 라우팅 알고리즘)

  • Since wireless sensor networks consist of nodes with the constrained battery, it is important to construct the topology performing energy-efficient routing while maximizing the whole network lifetime. Previous works related to this do not take into consideration the specific communication pattern in wireless sensor networks. In this paper, we propose a novel routing algorithm, called Up-Down Tree(UDT), which first constructs the tree topology based on distance and then adjusts the transmission range determined by the two different phases, tree setup and data gathering, to adapt the specific communication pattern in wireless sensor networks. Therefore, the UDT can improve energy efficiency, maximize the network lifetime, and block network partition Simulation results show that the UDT has the improved energy efficiency by constructing the optimal topology.

  • DCF(Distributed Coordination Function) defined in IEEE 802.11 provides two different modes, namely, a 2-way handshake and a 4-way handshake according to the transmission procedure. If secondary transmission would not cause a collision with primary transmission, there is no need to postpone transmission unnecessarily. We study a feasible condition which can transmit data concurrently and propose a concurrent transmission scheme.

  • Vehicle safety service can be effectively achieved with inter-vehicle communication technologies, in which moving vehicles transmit a safety related urgency information such as traffic accidents, sudden stops, obstacle appearance etc. They usually utilize a broadcast of message propagation method because the communicating vehicles are not known each other. The pure broadcasting scheme does not satisfy the requirements of vehicle safety communication service due to the transmission delay with frequent message collisions. To resolve this problem, this paper presents a group based propagation method for the multi-hop transmission, in order to deliver an urgency message to the reasonable size of vehicle troop. A group header is elected in considering of the position information of vehicles and radio transmission range. And a vehicle equivalent group is formed with the header. With benefits of the group based transmission, it is possible to minimize the unnecessary transmission and the possibility of message collisions. Simulation results show that the message propagation performance is so stable regardless of vehicle's congestion degree.

Transmission Distance Depending on Transmission Capacityin Inline Dispersion Managed WDM Systems (Inline 분산 제어가 적용된 WDM 시스템에서 전송 용량에 따른 전송 거리)

  • Effective transmission distance depending on transmission capacity of WDM systems with inline dispersion management (DM) and optical phase conjugator (OPC) at middle of total transmission length is investigated. The range of net residual dispersion (NRD) resulting 1 dB eye opening penalty (EOP) in 1 Tbps WDM system, in which NRD controlled by only postcompensation, is also investigated. It is confirmed that effective transmission distances are increasedto longer than several hundreds kilometers by applying optimal NRD depending on transmission capacity and distance. And it is confirmed that in 1 Tbps WDM system if NRD is determined to +17 ps/nm, the maximum transmission distance is achieved, and, especially, in long-haul 1 Tbps WDM system the effective NRD range will be determined within positive value.

  • Design rules of optical transmission links with dispersion management (DM) and optical phase conjugation (OPC) for compensating optical signal distortion due to chromatic dispersion and self phase modulation (SPM) of single mode fiber (SMF) are investigated in this paper. Design rules consist of optimal net residual dispersion (NRD) and optimal range of launching power of wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) channels as a function of total transmission length and span length. In all considered total transmission length and span length, optimal NRD are obtained to +10 ps/nm and -10 ps/mn for transmission links, which is controlled by precompensation and postcompensation, respectively. It is confirmed that system performances are more improved and effective NRD for wide launching power have wider range as total transmission length and span length are more decreased.

  • In this paper, we propose an energy entropy based multipath routing protocol using dynamic forwarding range in mobile ad-hoc wireless sensor networks. The main features and contributions of the proposed routing protocol are as follows. First, can select stable routing routes by using the calculated route entropy based on energy information of sensor nodes. Second, using dynamic forwarding range based on the route stability of route entropy can reduce energy, control overhead, delay for route establishment, finally improve data transmission efficiency. The performance evaluation using OPNET shows that the proposed routing protocol can efficiently support PDR.
