Breakdown Characteristics of $SF_6/CF_4$ Mixtures Under AC and Standard Lightning Impulse Voltages in Uniform Field (평등전계에서 AC 및 표준 뇌 임펄스 전압의 $SF_6/CF_4$ 혼합 가스 절연 파괴 특성)

  • Although many studies have been carried out about binary gas mixtures with $SF_6$, few studies were presented about breakdown characteristics of $SF_6/CF_4$ mixtures. At present study the breakdown characteristics of SFJCF4 mixtures in uniform field was performed. The experiments were carried out under AC and standard lightning impulse (SLI) voltages. The sphere-sphere electrode whose gap distance was 1 mm was used in a test chamber. $SF_6/CF_4$ mixtures contained from 0 to 100% $SF_6$ and the experimental gas pressure ranged from 0.1 to 0.4 MPa. The results show that addition of $SF_6$ to $CF_4$ increase AC and SLI breakdown voltages. Under AC voltages the breakdown voltages of each mixture were linearly increased according to the quantity of $SF_6$. However under SLI voltages the breakdown voltages of each mixture were similar.

고전압 펄스 시스템 '천둥'을 이용한 $N_2$, $SF_6$ 혼합기체에서의 전기 스위칭 연구

  • 본 연구에서는 최대전압 600 KV, 최대전류 88 KA, 펄스 폭 60 ns의 특성을 가지는 고전압 펄스 시스템 '천둥'을 이용하여 방전 챔버에 고전압 펄스를 인가하고 $N_2$$SF_6$ 혼합기체 종류와 여러 가지 기체압력에서 전기 트리거를 이용한 방전현상을 전기, 광학적으로 연구하였다. 전극은 구리텅스텐 합금재질의 표준전극을 사용하였고, 전극 간격은 10 mm로 고정하였다. 방전 챔버 압력을 100 torr, 1기압, 2 기압에서 실험을 진행하였고, $N_2$에 대한 $SF_6$의 혼합비율을 0~100%까지 변화시키며 실험을 진행하였다. 전기 트리거 신호가 인가된 펄스 방전 스위치의 방전전압 및 방전 기작원리, 트리거 스위칭 지연시간, 트리거 절연파괴 기작원리, 그리고 이때 생성된 플라스마의 전자 온도 및 밀도에 관한 전기광학 특성 등에 관한 기초연구를 수행하였다. 트리거 펄스가 있을 때의 방전개시전압은 트리거 지연시간 20 us 에서 최소가 되는 특성을 보이며, 이때의 SF6 함량에 따른 최소방전전압과 트리거 펄스가 없을 때의 방전전압을 서로 비교하였다. 이를 통하여 A-K gap 10 mm 조건에서 20 us의 트리거 펄스의 지연시간을 가지는 방전 개시전압은 트리거 펄스가 없을 때 전극 간격이 6 mm에 해당되는 방전개시 전압 값을 가짐을 실험적으로 보였다. 이는 트리거 펄스에 의하여 전극 주위에 쉬스가 형성되며, 이로 인한 전극 간격이 가까워지며, 이와 같은 효과 때문에 방전개시전압은 그만큼 낮아지는 것으로 해석 할 수 있다.

  • In recently years, occurrences of lightning return strokes have been increased by global worming effect and intensity of lightning impulse voltage and current accompanied by lightning discharges has being strengthening. In Korea, 560 thousand lightning discharges happened in 200S. According to the increasing frequencies of lightning, human deaths and damages to the structure have been increased steadily. Electric fire caused by lightning return strokes due to the breakdown between power line and ground line from the ground potential rise on a process of the lightning impulse current through to the ground. The damages of lightning were occurring at same time in the neighboring areas of the lightning point. In order to protect from the lightning stroke, we made a suggestion to use protection devices and equipotential bonding at the dangerous areas. The analysis results of electric fires caused by lightning would be utilized to investigate and to find accurate fire cause in the fire scenes.

Electrostatic discharge simulation of tunneling magnetoresistance devices (터널링 자기저항 소자의 정전기 방전 시뮬레이션)

  • Electrostatic discharge characteristics were studied by connecting human body model (HBM) with tunneling magnetoresistance (TMR) device in this research. TMR samples were converted into electrical equivalent circuit with HBM and it was simulated utilizing PSPICE. Discharge characteristics were observed by changing the component values of the junction model in this equivalent circuit. The results show that resistance and capacitance of the TMR junction were determinative components that dominate the sensitivity of the electrostatic discharge(ESD). Reducing the resistance oi the junction area and lead line is more profitable to increase the recording density rather than increasing the capacitance to improve the endurance for ESD events. Endurance at DC state was performed by checking breakdown and failure voltages for applied DC voltage. HBM voltage that a TMR device could endure was estimated when the DC failure voltage was regarded as the HBM failure voltage.

ARC Discharge Sound Source in Underwater (수중 아-크 방전음원에 관한 연구)

  • In general the impulse sound sources of underwater generated by electric arc discharge had used static energy of the charged capacitors. The author proposed an underwater arc discharge sound source using secondary voltage of high voltage transformer without capacitors. The arc discharge device was composed of a high voltage transformer and a switching system. The impulse current in the primary turn of the high voltage transformer is controlled by the switching system and inductive current of the secondary turn in the high voltage transformer is used in making impulsive arc discharge. A series of experiment have been carried out to observe the acoustic characteristics of the impulse sound source generated by the arc discharge. The results obtained were as follows: 1. Secondary current at the time of arc discharge keeps after ohm's law in the beginning and the maximum current flows out as soon as arc discharge breaks out. 2. A time difference between a start of applied current and a generation of arc discharge sound is the 3msec and it is generated arc sound when breaking down electric insulation at maximum voltage. 3. The sharper the end of electrodes and the higher the secondary voltage, the higher the sound pressure level. 4. Arc discharge sound was generated even at the distance of 100cm between electrodes and was stably reproductive at the gap of 1cm to 100cm. 5. Electric arc discharge sound wave is a shock wave of pulse-width of 0.15msec and spectral distribution of it is plenty of low frequency components less than 10 KHz.

Analysis of Fire Accident on DC Electric Traction Vehicles Caused by Breakdown in the Line Breaker (회로 차단기 절연파괴로 인한 직류 전기철도 화재 사고사례 분석)

  • Fire or electrical problem while DC electric traction vehicle operation caused by various reasons can lead to not only suspension of the operation, but also severe aftermath such as massive casualty. In this paper, fire analysis on DC electric traction vehicle caused by electrical breakdown on line breaker, which is in connection with the power supply, is presented. When the electric arc, the by-product of frequent line breaker operation, is not fully diminished, it leads to electrical breakdown and fire. Especially, electrical breakdown can be easily induced by the open-and-close operation of inner contractor inside line breaker, eventually followed by ground fault and generation of transient current. Electric arc is consequent on the ground fault and acts as possible ignition source, leading to fire. Also, during the repetitive operation of the line breaker, the contactor is separated each other and some copper powder is generated, and the copper powder provided breakdown path, resulting in fire.

스퍼터링으로 제조된 비정질 카본박막의 특성

  • 비정질 카본 박막은 다이아몬드와 유사한 높은 경도, 내마모성, 윤활성, 전기절연성, 화학적 안정성, 그리고 광학적 특성을 가진 재료로서 플라즈마 CVD를 이용한 합성방법으로 제조된 박막이 주로 연구되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 마그네트론 스퍼터링을 이용하여 다양한 조건의 카본 박막을 제조하였다. 카본 박막의 제조는 이온빔이 장착된 고진공 증착 장치를 이용하였고 시편의 청정시 사용된 이온빔의 조건은 빔 전압이 500V, 빔 전류는 0.1mA/cm2로 기판 청정을 거친 후 DC 마그네트론 스퍼터링을 이용하여 흑연을 증발시켜 박막을 제조하였다. 기판과 타겟의 거리는 13cm로 고정시킨 후 타겟 전류는 1A로 유지하면서 30분간 증착하였다. 기판은 Si-wafer와 glass를 주로 사용하였으며 기판 인가전압, 아세틸렌 유량, 기판 온도등을 변화시켜가면서 각각 카본 박막을 제조하였다. 비정질 카본박막의 막은 평균 두께는 0.4~1.2$\mu\textrm{m}$이며 SEM을 이용하여 단면의 성장구조를 관찰하였다. 라만 분광분석과 FTIR 분광분석을 통하여 비정질 카본 박막의 결합특성을 조사하였고 scratch tester를 이용하여 박막의 밀찰력을 관찰하였다. 제조된 박막의 두께는 아세틸렌 가스 이용시 1$\mu\textrm{m}$ 이상의 박막의 제조가 가능하였으며 카본 박막의 라만 분광특성은 고체 탄소 물질의 S와 G-peak으로 구성되어 있으며 기판 인가전압, 아세틸렌 가스 유량 변화에 따른 peak의 위치 이동 및 FWHM의 변화를 관찰하였다. RFIR 결과는 아세틸렌 가스의 유량이 증가에 따라 C-H 결합 분포가 증가며 기판 인가 전압이 증가할수록 C-H 결합분포가 감소하는 경향이 나타냈다. 이는 이온 충돌 효과에 따라 결합력이 약한 C-H 결합이 우선적으로 파괴되는 현상으로 생각되어 진다. Scartch tester 측정 결과 박막의 밀착력은 실험조건에 따른 경샹성은 보이고 있지 않으나 10N 정도이며 60N 이상의 강한 밀착력을 가진 박막도 제조되었다.

  • In this research, magnesium hydroxide as a flame retardant agents and zinc borate as a synergist were mixed with LDPF/EVA blended samples, in order to improve their flame retardancy. We attempted to select the best mixing ratio of the LDPF/EVA blend and the optimum amount of magnesium hydroxide and zinc borate by the comparison and analysis of the flame retardancy, the electrical properties such as the volume resistivity and dielectric loss tangent, and the mechanical properties such as the tensile strength and elongation at break. Particularly, specimen which is the 6phr of zinc borate and 10phr of magnesium hydroxide 70/30phr adding to the LDPF/EVA blended samples has been most excellent in flame retardancy and electrical/mechanical properties.

  • If leakage current is neglected, it can become a cause for disasters such as electric shock and fire, therefore a continuous monitoring is necessary. However in most cases, because management of substations is performed by unmanned systems, or walk-around inspections, continuous monitor is difficult. So when an accident occurs and the cause is not immediately resolved causing the emergency generator's OCGR getting activated by the leakage current that in turn cut off the ACB, the emergency generator may stop working. To prevent such a problem, a real-time integrated monitoring system for monitoring the leakage current returning to the grounding wire of neutral point of the low voltage side of transformer is proposed. Therefore in this paper, the effects of flow of leakage current, which is caused by insulation degradation phenomena or insulation destroy phenomena, were identified by simulation. And through cases studies; the excellence of integrated monitoring system was verified.

  • In this paper, we studied the 50% flashover voltage of lightening impulse which affect the most serious damages on the insulation of the electric power network system. Also its V -t characteristics and corona process phenomena of pure $SF_6, N_2, SF_6-N_2$mixtures under the circumstances of nonuniform field gap are researched. Comparing the characteristics of pure $SF_6$ with that of $SF_6, N_2$mixtures, we discussed that breakdown processes and $SF_6, N_2$ mixture's application to economics.As a results, 50% flashover voltage of $SF_6$ 50% - $N_2$ 50% for impulse voltage is higher then that of 80% of pure SF6, measured data and calculated data by equal area law are almost equal from the points of view of V-t characteristics. Therefore, it has been known that $SF_6$ 50% - $N_2$ 50% mixtures can be used as an economic constitution gas of pure $SF_6$, it is verified that corona processes from Lichtenberg figure.
