The Numerical Analysis of Two-Dimensional Electrokinetic Remediation Characteristics Dependent on Electrode Configurations (전극배치에 따른 2차원적 동전기 정화 특성의 수치해석)

  • In this study the characteristics of electrokinetic remediation, which is dependent on a various electrode configuration, was predicted from 2-D numerical analysis program (HERO-2D). Based on the predicted results for one dimensional and two dimensional electrode configurations, the optimized electrode configuration was determined by analyzing remediation efficiency, consumed electric power, installation cost of electrode and so on. When proposed electrode configurations were applied for in-situ remediation of the soils contaminated by heavy metals, the electrode configuration of high remediation efficiency should be chosen in case the high removal effect would be required, and one dimensional electrode configuration should be chosen in case the hard field works would be expected. Because the rectangular electrode configuration is better than others for consumed electric power, remediation efficiency per unit power, installation cost of electrode and so on, it can obtain the best results for the cost reduction.

  • 뇌전위 측정에 의해 흥분 뉴런군의 위치를 추정하는 source localization problem은 Evoked Potential 해석법에 있어서 매우 중요한 의미를 갖는다. 이번 논문에서는 EEG실험에서의 전극 배치가 S/N(signal to noise ratio)과 추정 오차 사이에 어떤 영향을 미치는 가를 Monte Carlo 시뮬레이션으로 조사하였다. 머리 모델은 3중 구각 모델을 사용하였고 이론 이용하여 forward problem을 계산하였다. 쌍극자 파라미터를 minimization 하는 문제는 simplex method를 이용하여 계산하였다. 컴퓨터 시뮬레이션 결과, 특이한 점은 전극의 밀도와 입체각에 의해 쌍자 파라미터 오차가 변화했다는 사실이다. 이것은 곧바로 전극 배치와 연관이 된다. 실제 EEG 실험에서 전극 배치를 어떻게 했는가에 따라 그에 따른 오차가 변화한다. 이러한 오차의 원인을 제거하기 위해서 새로운 전극 배치를 모델링하여 기존의 전극 배치와 비교해 보았다. 그 결과 전극 밀도와 입체각에 대한 오차를 크게 줄일 수 있었다.

  • The accurate localization of electrical sources in the brain is one of the most important questions in EEG, especially in the analysis of evoked responses and of epileptiform spike activity. A detailed simulation study of single dipole source estimation based on EEG is given in this paper. The effects of dipole model parameters on single dipole source tracing in EEG are examined in some detail using the Monte Carlo simulation. The error of source localization is found to be greatly influenced by how the electrodes are distributed over the head and the number of them.

  • In this paper, a new electrode configuration and EOG removal method are proposed in order to measure EEG effectively on the frontal lobe and remove EOG in the measured raw EEG. The method of measuring EEG is proposed using four electrodes and a ground electrode on the frontal lobe with a reference electrode at the left earlobe. And also, the separation method using ICA is proposed for EOG removal from the measured EEG, Through the experiments of measuring EEG it was demonstrated that a subject can attach the electrodes by himself easily to measure his own EEG without any assistant and the proposed methods were suitable for removing EOG signal from the measured EEG.

  • In this paper, it is proposed that the four channel electrode arrangement at a frontal lobe and the noise reduction method using a JADE for the EEG biofeedback system. The proposed electrode arrangement is based on the retina-cornea dipole model. Using JADE and signals which are acquired by the proposed arrangement, four independent components are separated. To estimate a pure EEG component among four components, it is measured that a ratio of alpha wave to the whole signal and then the component that has a maximum value is considered as a pure EEG which the noise is eliminated. As a result of experiments, the proposed methods are effective in reduction of noises during acquisition of the EEG.

  • A finite element analysis is used in this study to model 6 kinds of electrode by a genetic program in order to evaluate the mechanical effect on the 3D human cochlea model and the behavior of electrode. Human cochlea is modeled by the spiral-approximation method and the shape of scala tympani is extracted from the mid section of the human cochlea. Contact pressure at the tip and the insertion force are found to be highest when the wires stack horizontally. Axial rotation of electrode is minimal comparing with the stimulating current spread. The results indicate that the electrode stiffness is important to minimize the trauma.

  • This paper studied characteristics of surface discharge and tracking phenomena on the surface of solid insulators in Liquid Nitrogen(LN2) noticed as a cooling medium of high temperature superconductor. In order to investigate the bubble effect which have much influence on electric surface discharge in Liquid Nitrogen, knife type electrode and plane electrode were formed oppositely with A-mode, B-mode and C-mode configuration. It is considered that these result are fundamental data for electric insulation design of superconductor and cryogenic application machinery which will be studied and developed in the future.

Effects of Ac Mutual Coupling According to Location of Auxiliary Electrodes In Measuring the Ground Impedance of Vertically or Horizontally Buried Ground Electrode (수직 또는 수평으로 매설된 접지전극의 접지임피던스 측정시 보조전극 위치에 따른 전자유도의 영향)

  • In order to minimize ac mutual coupling, the auxiliary electrode are located at a right angle in measuring ground impedance. In case that the measurement space is limited, the alternative method is employed. At that time, it is necessary to investigate the measurement errors due to ac mutual coupling and earth mutual resistance in measuring the ground impedances. 'This paper presents the measurement accuracy according to the location of the current and potential auxiliary electrodes in measuring ground impedance of vertically or horizontally buried ground electrode. The measurement errors due to ac mutual coupling were evaluated Consequently, the effect of ac mutual coupling on the measurement accuracy for horizontally buried ground electrode is greater than that for vertically buried ground electrode. Measurement errors due to ac mutual coupling is the largest when the current and potential auxiliary electrodes are located in parallel. The 61.8[%] rule is inappropriate in measuring ground measurement. Theoretically, in case that the angle between the current and potential auxiliary electrodes is 90$[^{\circ}]$, there is no ac mutual coupling. If it is not possible to route the current and potential auxiliary electrodes at a right angle with limitation of measurement space, the location of these electrodes with an obtuse angle is preferred to that with an acute angle in reducing the measurement errors due to ac mutual coupling.

A Study on the Gas Generative Properties for the Developments of Small Brown Gas Generation Equipments Usable in Diesel Cars (디젤자동차 용 소형 브라운가스 발생장치의 개발을 위한 가스 생성 특성에 관한 연구)

  • This study is experimentally investigated brown gas generative properties with the changes of cell areas, a electrolyte concentration and ampere current for the developments of small brown gas generation equipments usable in diesel cars. Electrolysis reactors have been manufactured as SMT30, SMT50, SMT50-1, SMT70, SMT90, respectively on various surface areas and different positions anode and cathode. Thus, the brown gas generative properties on reactors tended to increase as surface area increase, and show differences in different electrode positions. However, the effect on electrolyte concentration had increased with a decreasing electrolyte concentration of NAOH 3~1‰, and the brown gas generative properties on ampere of SMT30, SMT50, SMT50-1, SMT70, SMT90 have shown to be $0.74{\ell}/10min$, $1.0{\ell}/10min$, $1.10,{\ell}/10min$, $0.97{\ell}/10min$, $1.13{\ell}/10min$.
