Modeling of 3-D Interconnect Line Using ADI-FDTD Method (ADI-FDTD 방법을 이용한 3차원 인터커넥트 모델링)

  • In this paper, we developed a numerical analysis model by using ADI-FDTD method to analyze three-dimensional interconnect structure. We discretized maxwell's curl equation by using ADI-FDTD. We introduced PML(Perfectly Matched Layer) absorbing boundary condition to solve the effect of the reflected wave at the interface. Evaluating the numerical model of PML and ADI-FDTD, we simulated the electric field distribution in time domain. We compare standard FDTD with ADI-FDTD, and analysis the result.

  • A programme, called BIPOLE, for the numerical analysis of twotimensional n-p-n bipolar transistors was developed. It has included the SRH and Auger recolnbination processes, the mobility dependence on the impurity density and the electric field, and the band-gap narrowing effect. The finite difference equations of the fundamental semiconductor equations are formulated using Newton's method for Poisson's equation and the divergence theorem for the hole and electron continuity equations without physical restrictions. The matrix of the linearized equations is sparse, symmetric M-matrix. For the solution of the linearized equations ICCG method and Gummel's algorithm have been employed. The programme BIPOLE has been applied to various kinds of the steady-state problems of n-p-n transistors. For the examples of applications the variations of common emitter current gain, emitter and diffusion capacitances, and input and output characteristics are calculated. Three-dimensional representations of some D.C. physical quantities such as potential and charge carrier distributions were displayed. This programme will be used for the nome,rical analysis of the distortion phenom ana of two-dimensional n-p-n transistors. The BIPOLE programme is available for everyone.

Electromagnetic Field Uniformity Characteristics of a Triangular Reverberation Chamber with Schroeder Diffusers (Schroeder 확산기를 적용한 삼각형 전자파 잔향실의 필드 균일도 특성)

  • This paper presents the results of an electromagnetic field uniformity of a triangular reverberation chamber that can be used alternatively for analysis and measurement of electromagnetic interference and immunity test. Equilateral triangular reverberation chamber and Schroeder diffusers were designed and fabricated for this purpose. FDTD simulation method was applied to analyze the field distribution inside of two different types of reverberation chambers. As a result, the electromagnetic field uniformity was improved inside of triangular reverberation chambers, and the measured field uniformity was improved by 1 ∼4 ㏈ compared to the ones without diffusers.

The EMI Suppression Technology for Radiated Emissions from PCB Traces (PCB 선로에서 복사되는 불요전자파를 억제하기 위한 기술)

  • Among many EMI suppression techniques for radiated emissions from PCB traces, image technique is adapted in this paper. A model for the analysis of the effect of image plane on the radiation of a microstrip trace is presented. After a simulation was carried out by using the FEM(Finite Element Method), field strength was measured with electric probe. The radiated emission levels were measured for various image plane width, separation distances, and their results show that the measured data are very close to those of simulation result. It proves that a proper use of image planes on the PCBs is very effective means of reducing EMI emissions on the PCBs.

  • One of the methods to transmit solute through solvent is diffusion. Various particles or molecules including several charged ions in the body diffuse from high density region to low density due to density difference or external electric field. This kind of mechanism is due to thermal motion of each solute molecules. These situations can be deployed using Fick's first and second laws that govern diffusion phenomena in the body. I analysis these diffusion status of material in the body using above mentioned Fick's laws and then implement them through illustration.

  • The effects of electric field strength and mechanical compressive stress on the displacement of multilayered ceramic actuator, stacked alternatively 0.2 (PbM $n_{1}$3/N $b_{2}$3/ $O_3$)-0.8(PbZ $r_{0.475}$ $Ti_{0.525}$ $O_3$) ceramic thin films and 70Ag-30Pd electrodes were investigated. Because the actuators were designed to stack ceramic layer and electrode layer alternatively, the ceramic-electrode interfaces may act as a resistance to motion of domain wall. so the polarization and strain were affected by the amount of 180$^{\circ}$domain, electric field strength and mechanical compressive stress. Consequently, the change of polarization, displacement with respect to field strength, and mechanical compressive stress were likely to be caused by readiness of the domain wall movement around the ceramic-electrode interfaces.ces.

The charge injection characteristics of nonvolatile MNOS memory devices (비휘발성 MNOS기억소자의 전하주입특성)

  • MNOS 구조에서 23.angs.의 얇은 산화막을 성장한 후 LPCVD방법으로 S $i_{3}$ $N_{4}$막을 각각 530.angs., 1000.angs. 두께로 달리 증착했을때 비휘발성 기억동작에 미치는 전하주입 및 기억유지 특성을 자동 .DELTA. $V_{FB}$ 측정 시스템을 제작하여 측정하였다. 전하주입 측정은 펄스전압 인가전의 초기 플랫밴드전압 0V.+-.10mV, 펄스폭 100ms 이내로 설정하고 단일 펄스전압을 인가하였다. 기억유지특성은 기억트랩에 전하를 포획시킨 직후 $V_{FB}$ 유지와 0V로 유지한 상태에서 $10^{4}$sec까지 측정하였다. 본 논문에서 유도된 산화막 전계에 대한 터넬확률을 적용한 전하주입 이론식은 실험결과와 잘 일치하였으며 본 해석방법으로 직접기억트랩밀도와 이탈진도수를 동시에 평가할 수 있었다. 기억트랩의 포획전하는 실리콘쪽으로의 역 터넬링으로 인한 조기감쇠가 컸으며 $V_{FB}$ 유지인 상태가 초기 감쇠율이 0V로 유지한 경우 보다 낮았다. 그리고 기억유지특성은 S $i_{3}$ $N_{4}$막의 두께보다 기억트랩밀도의 의존성이 크며 S $i_{3}$ $N_{4}$막두께의 축소로 기록전압을 저전압화시킬 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.

  • Theoretical radiation patterns for the corrugated horn antenna are analyzed by vector integral method and quasi-optics. The formular of the radiated fields for the corrugated horn antenna can be obtained by the potentials derived the equivalent current sources from hybrid fields at horn aperture and also calculated by the expanded mode set of Gaussian - Laguerre based on the quasi - optics. From comparison of the radiation patterns between two methods for a corrugated horn antenna designed on 85-115 GHz frequency range, the results are coincided well at center frequency but have some errors at each side frequencies 85 and 115 GHz.

  • We introduce the design technique and test results of a millimeter-wave compact antenna test range. Physical optics is employed for the analysis of the plane wave collimated by an electrical large parabolic reflector of the compact range in the test zone. The performance of the manufactured compact range is verified with the field probing test on the quiet zone and the measurement of high gain antenna. A millimeter-wave compact range designed in the frequency range of 75~110 GHz with a diameter of the test zone of 50 cm shows the magnitude variation of less than 0.75 dB.

  • A new design for an ultra-wideband microstrip-to-FGCPW(Finite Ground Coplanar Waveguide) transition is presented. The proposed transition provides the electric field and impedance matching between adjacent transmission lines by ground shaping. The transition is designed on the analytical expressions of whole transitional structure. Conformal mapping is applied to obtain the characteristic impedance of FGCPW with bottom aperture within 3.3 % accuracy as compared with the EM-simulation results. As design example, the fabricated transition in back-to-back configuration provides insertion loss less than 1 dB per transition and return loss better than 10 dB for frequencies from 9 GHz to over 40 GHz.
