Adaptive Transmission Techniques for the Availability Assurance of Long-distance Radio Link (장거리 무선 링크의 가용도 보장을 위한 적응전송 기법)

  • In Microwave Radio Link, it is necessary to consider the radio fading to consistently assure the radio link of the high quality as the distance. If the fixed modulation is used for the microwave radio link, it is difficult to keep the high availability of link for the case of the long distance. Adaptive Modulation(AM) provide good quality on microwave link, but the application of the only-AM is not enough to provide the availability assurance due to the fluctuating characteristics of link capacity. Our previous study has proposed the improvement method of transmission in association with the distance, however the previous method needed to make up for the common application. There was no suggestion of a mathematical formula with a variable. In this paper, we propose an optimized Adaptive Transmission Techniques with calculating formula of the priority traffic transmission capacity based on AM in consideration of the fade margin for the availability assurance as the distance and the comparison of the channel bandwidth for Long-distance Radio Link.

  • 본 논문에서는 환경변화에 대해 강인하게 동작하는 음성인식 시스템을 위해 잡음적응 훈련과 변별학습 방식을 결합한 형태의 환경적응 방식을 제안한다. 다중환경 훈련과 잡음제거방식을 결합한 형태인 잡음적응 훈련 방식은 음성인식을 위한 MCE (Minimum Classification Error)의 목적과는 거리가 있고, 음성인식 시스템이 사용되는 모든 환경을 반영하는 것은 현실적으로 어렵다는 점에서 한계가 있다. 이에 잡음적응 훈련방식으로 훈련된 기본 음향모델을 목적환경에서 수집한 소량의 데이터를 이용한 변별학습을 통해 환경적응 모델로 변환함으로써 이러한 단점을 보완할 수 있는 잡음 적응 변별학습을 이용한 훈련방식을 제안한다.

  • This paper studies noise subtraction methods and distance measures for speech recognition in a noisy environment, and investigates noise robustness of the distance measures applied to the problem of isolated word recognition in white Gaussian and colored noise (vehicle noise) environments. Noise subtraction methods which can be used as a pre-processor for the speech recognition system, such as the spectral subtraction method, autocorrelation subtraction method, adaptive noise cancellation and acoustic beamforming are studied, and distance measures such and Log Likelihood Ratio ($d_{LLR}$), cepstral distance measure ($d_{CEP}$), weighted cepstral distance measure ($d_{WCEP}$), spectral slope distance measure ($d_{RPS}$) and cepstral projection distance measure ($d_{CP},\;d_{BCP},\;d_{WCP},\;d_{BWCP}$) are also investigated. Testing of the distance measures for speaker-dependent isolated word recognition in a noisy environment indicate that $d_{RPS}\;and\;d_{WCEP}$ which weigh higher order cepstral coefficients more heavily give considerable performance improvement over $d_{CEP}and\;d_{LLR}$. In addition, when no pre-emphasis is performed, the recognizer can maintain higher performance under high noise conditions.

Sub-pixel Image Magnification Using Adaptive Linear Interpolation (적응적인 선형 보간을 이용한 부화소 기반 영상 확대)

  • We propose an adaptive linear interpolation locating sub-pixels. We utilize a pixel-based parameter in the conventional linear interpolation. To optimally obtain the parameter, we propose a generic interpolation structure including a low pass filter and minimum mean square error. We also propose a simple version of the generic interpolation method, which obtain a closed-form solution. Simulation results show that the proposed method is superior to the state-of-the-art methods such as warped distance linear interpolation and shifted linear interpolation, as well as the conventional method such as the linear interpolation and the cubic convolution interpolation in terms of the subjective and objective image quality.

Distance Estimation Method using Enhanced Adaptive Fuzzy Strong Tracking Kalman Filter Based on Stereo Vision (스테레오 비전에서 향상된 적응형 퍼지 칼만 필터를 이용한 거리 추정 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose an algorithm that can estimate the distance using disparity based on stereo vision system, even though the obstacle is located in long ranges as well as short ranges. We use sub-pixel interpolation to minimize quantization errors which deteriorate the distance accuracy when calculating the distance with integer disparity, and also we use enhanced adaptive fuzzy strong tracking Kalman filter(EAFSTKF) to improve the distance accuracy and track the path optimally. The proposed method can solve the divergence problem caused by nonlinear dynamics such as various vehicle movements in the conventional Kalman filter(CKF), and also enhance the distance accuracy and reliability. Our simulation results show that the performance of our method improves by about 13.5% compared to other methods in point of root mean square error rate(RMSER).

Shooting Distance Adaptive Pore Extraction for Skin Condition Estimation (피부 상태 추정을 위한 촬영 거리에 적응적인 모공 검출 연구)

  • Nowadays, cameras embedded in smartphones can take high resolution photographs that can be used to analyze skin conditions without using specialized equipments. In shooting photographs with a smartphone, it is difficult to maintain a uniform shooting distance. Therefore, it is essential to adapt a skin analysis method to the shooting distance. In this paper, we focus on a pore detection algorithm that is adaptive to the camera distance. We develop a relationship model between the shooting distance and the appropriate size of the pore detection mask. In addition, we propose a method to estimate the normalized pore size (i. e. pore size at a standard shooting distance). We conducted experiments on skin images taken from different shooting distances. It was verified that the proposed method can achieve more accurate pore detection result, close to those from skin images taken at a standard shooting distance.

A Basic Study on Matching Color Images with Different Color Sets (상이한 칼라 집합으로 구성된 영상의 정합에 관한 기초 연구)

  • 칼라 정보를 이용하여 영상을 정합하기 위해서는 적은 수의 칼라 집합으로 영상을 표현하는 영상 양자화 과정이 필요하다. 적응적 양자화를 사용하는 경우에는 균일 양자화에 비해 높은 정합 성능을 기대할 수 있지만 상이한 칼라 집합의 생성으로 인해 영상 정합 과정이 힘들게 된다. 이에 본 논문에서는 상이한 칼라 집합을 갖는 영상을 정합할 수 있는 기초적인 연구를 수행하였다. 영상 정합을 위해 우선 STR(sort-tile-recursive) 방법[1]을 응용하여 질의 영상의 각 칼라에 대한 유사 칼라를 DB 영상으로부터 빠르게 선정할 수 있는 방법을 개발하였다. 질의 칼라와 유사 칼라간의 유사도를 정의하고 이를 기반으로 영상간의 유사도를 계산함으로써 영상 정합에 이용할 수 있도록 하였다. 칼라간의 유사도는 칼라 차이가 고려되어 정의되는데 칼라 차이는 칼라 공간에서의 칼라 거리로 계산된다. 칼라 거리를 계산하기 위해 유클리디언 거리를 이용할 경우 많은 계산량이 요구되므로 기존의 시티블록 거리나 체스보드 거리에 비해 유클리디언 거리를 좀더 유사하게 근사화하면서 빠른 계산이 가능한 거리 계산 방법을 개발하였다.

  • This paper presents a trajectory tracking controller for rotorcraft UAVs to improve the tracking performances in the presence of various uncertainties. The proposed tracking method consists of a velocity guidance law based on the relative distance and L1 adaptive augmentation loop for tracking the velocity commands. In the proposed structure, the desired velocity generated by the guidance law is the reference value of the adaptive controller for accurate path tracking. In the guidance law, the desired acceleration is generated based on the relative distance and its derivatives, and then the velocity command of the inner control loop is calculated by integrating the accelerations. $L_1$ augmentation loop supplements the linear controller to guarantee the flight performances such as a tracking accuracy in the presence of the uncertainties. The proposed controller was validated in actual flight tests to successfully demonstrate its capability using a quadrotor UAV.

Moving Object Extraction and Distance Measurement in Stereo Vision System (스테레오 비젼 시스템에서의 이동객체 추출 및 거리 측정)

  • In this paper, we present a method to extract a moving object and to measure the distance to it by using the stereo vision system. The moving factor is to be extracted through a match of a pixel unit for the moving object where the adaptive threshold is effectively dealt with to remove changes in the brightness of the image. The distance to moving object is measured by using a stereo vision system which employs a parallel camera. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm could be effectively applied to distance measurement to moving object because it has an average error of one percent.

  • 최근 IT 기술이 융합된 지능형 자동차 기술에 대한 관심이 높아짐에 따라 이에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 차선 검출은 지능형 자동차의 주요 과제인 첨단 안전자동차 기술의 핵심적인 부분으로 국내외에서 다양한 방법들에 대한 연구가 진행되었다. 차량의 안전을 향상시키기 위해서는 충분한 제동거리 확보가 가능한 거리까지 정확하고 빠른 차선 검출이 이루어져야 한다. 기존의 경계선 검출기법들은 조명 변화에 따라 그 성능의 변화가 크게 발생하였다. 이는 차선과 도로의 사이의 값의 차이가 조명 조건에 따라 변하기 때문이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 영상 분석을 통하여 경계선을 판단하는 값을 조절함으로써 환경에 적응적인 경계선 추출 방법을 제안한다. 차량 주행 영상에서 제안한 방법과 기존의 경계선 검출 기법을 적용하여 성능을 비교한다.
