Automatic Fire Extinguisher Having Flammable Pipes Inserted in a Cultural Assets Roof (가연성 파이프 시공에 의한 전통가옥지붕에 매설된 자동소화장치)

  • This invention is purposed to provide an innovative solution for the inside of roof structures, which is cultural assets. The Asian old houses generally have several layered roofs on top of the structures. If a fire has started inside of the roof, it is hard to be extinguished before eliminating all the upper layers of the roof. This invention provides pre constructed embedded pipes, which is flammable and easy to be dissolved by the fire. The material of pipe is composed of rubbers, of which the combustion point is so low that the extinguishing of initial fire is possible without additional fire service. The inside of pipe is filled with halon gas. If the filled gas is consumed after ignited by fire, additional fire extinguishing water is supplied. If the flexible pipes are totally combusted by a big fire, the sprinkler at the end of inflexible pipe will work continuously, which is located between flexible and inflexible pipes. The extinguishing pipe network is suggested as dividing whole roof as multiple sections for a swift fire extinguishing in case of intentional or natural fire attack to our invaluable cultural assets.

Effect of Several Cultivation on Growth of Lysimachia mauritiana Lam. as Potted Plant (몇 가지 재배조건이 분화용 갯까치수염(Lysimachia mauritiana Lam.)의 생육에 미치는 영향)

  • 본 연구는 관상식물인 갯까치수염의 분화용 재배기술을 개발하기 위하여 실시하였다. 종자를 이용하여 육묘된 유묘를 사용하여 분화용 포트의 크기, 상토 혼합조성, 기비처리, 유묘의 소질 등의 이식조건과 추비농도, 차광정도, 왜화제 및 적심처리 등의 재배, 관리조건에 대한 생육효과를 2017년 7월 31일부터 10월 9일까지 약 10주간 조사하였다. 갯까치수염의 분화용 재배를 위해서, 피트모스:펄라이트(3:1) 혼합 용토에 $300-200-200mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$(N-P-K)의 비료분을 첨가한 토양을 이색칼라 10호 화분에 충진하여 코트비료 10알을 기비로 시비하고, 200구 트레이에 셀당 2립씩 파종된 묘를 이식묘로 사용하는 것이 갯까치수염의 생육에 가장 효과적이었다. 재배 및 관리방법으로는 차광처리는 하지 않고 재배하는 것이 생육에 좋으며, $250mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ hyponex를 추비하고 왜화제로 $500mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ daminozide를 처리하는 것이 갯까치수염의 분화재배에 적합하였다. 또한, 재배기간이 10주 정도일 때는 적심을 하지 않는 것이 분화용 생산에 효과적일 것으로 판단되었다. 본 연구 결과는 다양한 활용성을 가진 야생 초화류의 이용성 및 부가가치 향상을 위한 대량생산 방법의 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.

  • 오랑캐장구채는 석죽과의 여러해살이풀로 일본 훗카이도, 사할린, 바이칼호에 서식하며, 한국에서는 중부 이북지방의 산지에 자생하는 유용 자생식물로 활용가치가 높다. 분화용 소재로 이용하기 위하여 2017년 7월 31일부터 10월 9일까지 약 10주간 재배조건을 조사하였다. 분화용 오랑캐장구채의 재배는 이색칼라 화분 8, 10, 12호 중 12호 처리구에서 직경, 생체중, 근경 등에서 효과적이었는데 특히, 엽면적은 다른 처리구보다 2배 이상 넓어서 관상용으로 적합하였다. 이식묘의 소질은 162구 트레이의 유묘가 초장, 엽수, 엽면적이 가장 크거나 많았고, 한 cell당 2립씩 파종된 유묘처리구가 엽면적이 넓고 엽록소 함량이 높아 상품성면에서 효과적이었다. 혼합용토는 코코피트:펄라이트(3:1)혼용구가 피트모스:펄라이트(3:1) 혼용구보다 엽면적과 근장이 큰 편이었다. 혼합 비료(N-P-K)는 $600-400-400mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$비료가 첨가된 처리구에서 특히, 초장, 엽수, 엽면적, 엽록소 지수, 근장 및 생체중이 처리별로 가장 우수하여, 원예상토와 유사하거나 그 이상의 효과가 있었다. 기비로는 코트비료 40알 처리구가 근장을 제외한 모든 요인에서 생육이 우수하였다. 오랑캐장구채를 분화용으로 이용하기 위한 재배관리 방법은 차광이 되지 않는 곳에서 추비 $1,000mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ hyponex 시비 및 왜화제로 $1,000mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ daminozide를 처리하며, 10주간의 재배를 위해서는 적심을 하지 않는 것이 생육에 효과적이었다.

Influences of Nitrogen and Potassium Rates on Yield and Quality of Cured Leaf in Burley Tobacco (질소 및 가리 시용량이 버어리종 잎담배의 수량 및 품질에 미치는 영향)

  • A field experiment was conducted to find out the effects of nitrogen and potassium rates on the growing characters, yield and quality of burley tobacco (1988 : Burley 21, 1989: Burley 21 and KB101) during successive two years. The effect of added nitrogen fertilizer on the growth characters at topping stage was different according to growing years. Potassium rate had no effect on the growth characters. The effects of nitrogen and potassium rates on the nitrogen conteut of leaf during growth stage were great, while the effects on the potassium content were not large, relatively. As compared with Burley 21, KB101 showed high yield, and the productivity in nitrogen-reduced condition was high. The yield and quality were increased when nitrogen applied to 22.75kg/l0a, but the yield was not increased and the quality was decreased when nitrogen applied above 22.75kg/l0a. Neither potassium rate nor potassium/nitrogen application ratio had effects on the yield and quality, while the quality was somewhat decreased when potassium/nitrogen ratio was small. When the nitrogen fertilizer being applied above 22.75kg/l0a, there were no advantageous effects on the yield and quality, It is sufficient that the potassium application is about 35.0kg/l0a, and the scheme of reducing of potassium rate may be considerable.

An Experimental Study on the Capability of Arresting the Spread of a Fire of Fireproof Fabric Equipped over Ceiling Board of Wooden Cultural Properties (목조문화재 개판 상부에 설치하는 방염천의 화재전파 차단기능에 대한 실험연구)

  • This study examines the isolation-heat performance of fire proof fabric that is equipped over ceiling board in order to secure the capability of arresting the spread of a fire at roof 'Jucsim' structure of Wooden Cultural Properties. For this examination, I conduct experiments with the model and compare two construction methods of fire proof fabric, or flat-type, folding-type. The experiments show the following results. In case of installing the fire proof fabric in flat-type, when the temperature under the ceiling board is $750^{\circ}C$, the temperatures over the ceiling board is $50^{\circ}C$; the difference is $700^{\circ}C$. Compared with the case of removing fire proof fabric, the temperature over the ceiling board is lower by approximately $580^{\circ}C{\sim}600^{\circ}C$. Therefore it can be said that the construction of fire proof fabric enhances the isolation-heat performance. In case of installing the fire proof fabric in folding-type, when the temperature under the ceiling board is $600^{\circ}C$, the temperatures over the ceiling board is $65^{\circ}C$; the difference is approximately $530^{\circ}C$. Thus its isolation-heat performance is a little inferior to the flat-type equipment.

Effect of Pinching Time and Plant Growth Retardants on Growth Control of Ardisia pusilla in an Ebb and Flow System (Ebb and Flow 시스템에서 적심시기와 생장조절제 처리에 의한 산호수의 생장조절)

  • This study was conducted on the effect of plant growth retardants (PGRs) on growth of potted Ardisia pusilla and Ardisia pusilla var. variegata grown for a short term in an ebb and flow system. Plants were planted in 10 cm plastic pots, containing a mixture of peat moss and perlite (1 : 1, v/v) on 30 June 2005 and were grown until 23 Sep. 2005. The PGRs used were 50, 200, 350, 500 $mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ daminozide (B- 9), 10, 40, 70, 100 $mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ paclobutrazol (Boundy), and 5, 15, 25, 35 $mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ ethephon (Florel). On every irrigation, the nutrient solution containing PGRs was supplied at a 2 cm depth and was kept for 15~20 minutes. The surplus nutrient solution was drained back into the tank for next irrigations. In both cultivars, paclobutrazol gave the most pronounced effect in inhibition of stretchiness. Ardisia pusilla, which was pinched just before initiation of paclobutrazol treatment, resulted in the greatest inhibition of shoot elongation. Daminozide treatments above 200 $mg{\cdot}L^{-1}$ also gave reduction of shoot length. However, ethephon treatments gave no dwarfing effect in Ardisia pusilla. Inhibition of stretchiness was observed even in the lowest concentration treatments. Among the PGRs, paclobutrazol was the most effective in suppressing plant stretchiness.

Effect of Vinyl-mulching Culture on Growth and Yield of Cotton( Gosspium hirsutum L.) (비닐피복이 모화의 생육 및 수량에 미치는 영향)

  • This experiment was conducted to explore the cultural method capable of raising of picked cotton ratio and more high-yielding in the middle part of Korea where growth period of cotton is short. By early vinyl-mulching culture, emergence date was earlier, flowering and boll opening were shorter than non-mulching, especially boll opening date was earlier about 8 to 15 days. Plant height was longer by vinyl-mulching, fruiting branches and number of bolls per plant at vinyl-mulching of the 10th April produced more twice than non-mulching of the 10th May. Picked cotton ratio was 79% at non-mulching of the 10th May, while viny-mulching of the 10th April produced most of picked cotton as picked cotton ratio 99%. At vinyl-mulching of the 10th April, lint yield increased more 76-90% than non-mulching. Staple length was some longer and also content of linolenic acid of cotton seed oil was higher than non-mulching.

Effect of Training Time on Quality and Yield of 'Sinsakigake-2' Pepper (정지시기에 의한 '신사기가께2호' 고추의 품질과 수량)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effect of training time on the growth and yield of 'Sinsakigake-2' pepper (Capsicum annuum L.). Plants were either left untrained as control or trained at the third node leaving four shoots per plant. Plants were traind at 20, 45, 70, or 95 days after transplanting (DAT). The earlier the training time, the more the branch number of the plant. Fruit weight was not affected by training time. However, the percentage of marketable fruits and the number of marketable fruits per plant were the highest in plants trained at 70 DAT, and the lowest in the control. Early marketable yield was the highest in the control, and the lowest in plants trained at 45 DAT.

  • Regim-8(TIBA), a Chemical pinching agent, was applied to soybean plants of 6 varieties at 6 leaf stage in oder to develop a chemical pruning method. The results are summarized as follows: 1) The more inhibition in plant height and rare lodging were abserved at 2, 000ppm level of treatment (50cc of Regim-8 diluted in 100ι of water). 2) Number of branches and grains per plant were increased by Regim-8 treatment, while number of main stem nodes were decreased. 3) It appeared that photosynthetic efficiency of the soybean plant community treated by Regin-8 were improved. This increased number of pod per plant and hence soybean yield increased by applying Regim-8. 4) Antilodging effects of Regim-8 were also appeared to result in better filling of pods and higher yield per unit area.
