  • Through the development of computer and multimedia, many different kinds of theories about instructional method are presented. Especially, many lectures in associated with E-learning are done. In mathematics teaching, mathematica-algebra system lecturing, computer and Maple Matlab lecturing etc, are accomplished. There are many controversies among educators in problems originated by computer teaching. In this paper, we going to make a research about problems which are caused by mathematics computer-based education and present a desirable way of computer based education through studying comprehension rate and application ability among learner who uses omputer learning and other learner who uses exiting blackboard-based learning with statistical analysis after sampling test

  • In the natural science or engineering science, a calculus is an obligatory subject. So there are many classes in the university every year. Commonly professors manage the course individually. Many classes in a row individually got into trouble about lecture, test and assessment and so on. To solve the above problems, alternatively we introduced the concept of joint control. We used the joint syllabus, test and assessment. In this paper, we found the necessities and effects of joint control in a calculus.

  • Bertrand's Paradox is known as a paradox because it produces different solutions when we apply different method. This essay analyzed diverse problem solving methods which result from no clear presenting of 'random chord'. The essay also tried to discover the difference between the mathematical calculation of three problem solvings and physical experiment in the real world. In the process for this, whether geometric statistic teaching related to measurement and integral calculus which is the basic concept of integral geometry is appropriate factor in current education curriculum based on Laplace's classical perspective was prudently discussed with its status.

  • This study derives the expressions of vector gravity and gravity gradient tensor due to an elliptical cylinder. The vector gravity for an arbitrary three-dimensional (3D) body is obtained by differentiating the gravitational potential, including the triple integral, according to the shape of the body in each axis direction. The vector gravity of the 3D body with axial symmetry is integrated along the axial direction and reduced to a double integral. The complex Green's theorem using complex conjugates subsequently converts the double integral into a one-dimensional (1D) closed-line integral. Finally, the vector gravity due to the elliptical cylinder is derived using 1D numerical integration by parameterizing a boundary of the elliptical cross-section as a closed line. Similarly, the gravity gradient tensor due to the elliptical cylinder is second-order differentiated from the gravitational potential, including the triple integral, and integrated along the vertical axis direction reducing it to a double integral. Consequently, all the components of the gravity gradient tensor due to an elliptical cylinder are derived using complex Green's theorem as used in the case of vector gravity.

  • The present study seeks to provide an easy path to differential perceptions of students at the upper high school level by applying a story telling method and also, characteristically, to earn some time for class discussion by reducing learning time for simple calculational procedure through Computer Algebra System(CAS) tools. This study offers a clear example of storytelling textbooks through Sage. Hence, the study aims at enabling students who have practiced contents with Sage tools to deal with diverse and complicated calculation problems, if they learn to build up mathematical formulas for those problems.

  • The rapid change in school mathematics curricula occurred over last some periods requires lots of change or improvement in the education method for the university mathematics, especially in calculus. As an effort in this direction we restrict our concern to the freshmen of year 2002 of the Korea university of technology and education to investigate a correlation between their mathematics score on the national entrance examination and achievement score measured by their final grades in a calculus course. As a result of this research we propose a step-wise level educational model for the calculus education. In the model an appropriate teaching contents and method proceeding through the three steps are suggested and implementation issues are discussed. We believe that carrying out mathematics curricular are suggested in the model will be of service to calculus education particularly for student under the 7th national curriculum reform.

  • We carried out mathematics diagnostic tests for all first year engineering students at C University in Daejeon in 2008, covering precalculus and basic calculus. Then we divided into two classes such as regular and supplementary classes. The supplementary class students are lower 13% students. Then we gave extra classes for these students to support their basic and elementary calculus skills. As a result, these supplementary students received a meaningful accomplishment at the final exam. This paper analyzes the results and effects of various types of supplementary classes such as education by level, and proposes some strategies to enhance mathematics learning, particularly for under achieving first year engineering students.

  • This study intends to apply the mathematical method of fractional order differentiation to a controller that controls the response of the system. Therefore, we design integrator for the fractional index by converting it into discrete time to construct a controller. The IP controller composes an integral controller for errors and the proportional controller applies only the system output. The controller is designed by using the fractional order integrator to the integral controller of the IP controller. First, the performance of the PI controller and the IP controller is compared, and the designed controller is applied to the speed control of the motor. As a result, the motor output speed was uniformed and precise control performance could be obtained. It was confirmed that the speed error in the steady state is within 0.1 [%], and it has precise and uniform speed control performance without overshoot.
