Reconfiguration Control Using LMI-based Constrained MPC (선형행렬부등식 기반의 모델예측 제어기법을 이용한 재형상 제어)

  • In developing modern aircraft, the reconfiguration control that can improve the safety and the survivability against the unexpected failure by partitioning control surfaces into several parts has been actively studied. This paper deals with the reconfiguration control using model predictive control method considering the saturation of control surfaces under the control surface failure. Linearized aircraft model at trim condition is used as the internal model of model predictive control. We propose the controller that performs optimization using LMI (linear matrix inequalities) based semi-definite programming in case that control surface saturation occurs, otherwise, uses analytic solution of the model predictive control. The performance of the proposed control method is evaluated by nonlinear simulation under the flight scenario of control surface failure.

  • Recently, there are many embedded system prototyping tools for helping embedded system designers to trial their product before it releases to the market. A prototype is very important for early embedded system design to grasp the desire functions, to get a good performance, to create delightful user interface, and to increase the valuable of the product. Prototyping tools can be classified by three categories: Physical, Virtual and Modeling prototyping. The integration of these prototyping tools becomes valuable for speed up time-to-market and for decrease design cost when design embedded system. The problem comes up because these tools sometime do not provide an instrument for communicating each other. In this paper, we propose a flexible and reusable mechanism for integrate these tools base on JavaBeans and ActiveX technology. We show how this mechanism can be employed in various prototyping tools.

  • It is difficult to identify reusable and independent components in component-based development(CBD) process. Therefore existing methodologies have dealt the problem of component identification based on only developer's intuition and heuristics. As a result, it is difficult to identify the business components by common developers. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a new baseline and technique to identify the business components based on domain model such as use case diagrams, class diagrams, and sequence diagrams. proposed method identifies components through two phases; system component identification and business component identification. Especially, we consider structural characteristics as well as dependency characteristics according to methods call types and directions in identifying components. We also present a case study and comparative analysis and assessment to prove the practical use of our technique.

Identification of mitochondrial mutant (NADH-dehydrogenase) using PCR method and regeneration of mutants from Zea mays (PCR 기법을 사용한 옥수수 미토콘드리아 변이체 (NADH-dehydrogenase)의 선별과 재분화)

  • The maize mitochondrial mutant (NCS2) is derived from homologous recombination between genes encoding NADH dehydrogenase subunit 4 and subunit 6. Plants from mitochondria mutants exhibited severe related growth and development including dwarfism and striping on the leaves. Aborted embryos from NCS2 mutants have been rescued and cultured on the N6 medium supplemented with 2,4-D 1 mg/l. Most calli from NCS2 aborted embryos showed slow growing pattern at first stage. However, upon continuous culturing them on the medium, those were segregated into mutant and normal callus lines. These segregations could be detected by using PCR method with three primers. Such segregation seems to be resulted from the preferential growth of normal cells over the mutant cells on the normal culture condition. Therefore, this method can be used for determining rate of indirect cytoplasmic segregation by estimating amplified band intensities. When NCS2 mutant callus lines cultured on regeneration medium, no adventitious shoot induction was observed. However, callus lines with more mitochondria induced adventitious shoots. These studies suggest that mitochondria NADH-dehydrogenase for electron transport in the inner membrane of mitochondria is essential for the differentiation and development of plants.

  • The emergence of new types of embedded computing devices and developments in wireless networking are broadening the domain of computing from the work place and home office to other facets of everyday life. This trend is expected to lead to a proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT) environments, in which inexpensive and interconnected computing devices are capable of supporting users in a range of tasks. Context-aware computing is a key source to develop such smart services. However, there are many challenges to enable services to be smart; Heterogeneous Computing Environments, Resource Limitations, Large Amount of Data Produced, and Different Requirements for Context Interpretation. Because of these challenges, there are difficulties in providing smart service by utilizing IoT devices. Currently, many researchers are conducting researches on mobile-computing based smart service development and provisioning and network infrastructure for interconnected IoT devices. Still, there are some limitations on developing core technologies for IoT computing based smart service development. In order to remedy this situation, this thesis presents a reusable framework that provides unique and noble features which are required in developing advanced context-aware IoT applications.

A Study on the Effect of strength improvement and $CO_2$ reduction by using Eco-concrete in construction site (에코콘크리트 현장 적용에 따른 강도 상승 효과 및 이산화탄소 절감 효과에 관한 연구)

  • Blast furnance slag cement is a cement manufactured with using industrial by-product and it can reduce $CO_2$ by replacing cement when same uit volume concrete is produced. But Blast furnance slag has a short point that early strength of concrete is not good in winter season and it can be used. So, in this study, as long as replacement ratio of Blast furnance slag to original portland cement is under 30%, developed cement, ecoment, improve early strength of concrete and it applied to constructoin site. As a result, it improves 37% in terms of 1-day strength, it reduces 6.7% in terms of $CO_2$ emission when $1m^3$ concrete was produced. The importance and applicability of study wll be expected to increase cosidering global effort and green growth-strategy in country for reducing greenhouse gases.

Permeability and strength characteristics of Self-Sealing and Self-Beating materials as landfill liners (매립지 차수재로서 자가치유재의 투수 및 강도특성)

  • Recently, domestic waste landfills are constructed sometimes on seashore area to provide large landfill area. In order to strengthen the foundation of landfills and to prevent the infiltration of leachate through the bottom, many cases of constructing cement hardened liners on seashore clays are found. In these cases, it is possible to have cracks in the hardened liners due to settlement with waste load since the stiffness of the hardened liner Is greater than that of clay liners. In this study, the capability of Self-Sealing and Self-Healing (SSSH) liner made with a seashore clay in the metropolitan landfill to prevent the percolation of water and leachate is examined using flexible-wall permeameter test and using uniaxial compression test. Applicability of SSSH to weathered granitic soil is also examined for self-sealing capabilities. The result of Flexible permeameter test for SSSH with the seashore clay showed that permeability obtained was lower than permeability criteria of Korean waste management law. The permeability and strength characteristics of SSSH with granitic soil and bentonite showed better results than with the seashore clay.

A Practical Reference Model of Component Frameworks (컴포넌트 프레임웍의 실용적 참조 모델)

  • Component-Based Software Engineering (CBSE) is widely accepted as new paradigms for building applications with reusable assets. Mismatch problems occur while integrating the assets and make a burden in CBSE. Therefore, a larger-grained reuse unit than a component such as a framework is required, and it consists of relevant components, connectors and domain-specific architecture. The benefits of frameworks over components are commonly known, however, the key elements and internal structure of framework has not been clearly defined. We believe most of the framework models proposed in recent works remain at conceptual level. In this paper, we propose a practical-level framework reference model, and define key elements of frameworks. The research goal is to precisely identify concrete elements of a framework, inter-connection of components within a framework, extended notion of connectors, and tailored meaning of architecture In a framework. Hence, the proposed framework can be practically implemented in common object-oriented languages and with middleware such as lava, J2EE, CORBA Component Model (CCM) and NET.

Mechanical Properties of Early Strength Mortar with Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag and Expansive Additive (고로슬래그미분말 및 팽창재를 혼입한 조강형 모르타르의 역학적 특성)

  • In this study, the effects of ground granulated blast furnace slag(GGBFS) and expansive additive(EA) on early strength mortar were examined for the purpose of reducing carbon and improving cement performance. As a result, ealry strength Portland cement(EPC) tended to decrease in flow compared to ordinary Portland cement(OPC), but binder with EPC and GGBFS was possible to obtain higher liquidity than OPC. EPC showed higher compressive strength and shrinkage than OPC. The compressive strength of specimen with EPC and GGBFS was reduced proportionally to the replacement ratio of GGBFS. The replacement ratio of GGBFS above the compressive strength equivalent to OPC was higher under low temperature conditions. The use of GGBFS resulted in high shrinkage compared to OPC, and this characteristic was even greater under low temperature conditions. The shrinkage of specimen with EA was decreased in early ages, but was higher than the OPC in long-term ages.

Properties of Foamed Concrete According to Types and Concentrations of Foam Agent (기포제 종류 및 희석 농도에 따른 기포 콘크리트의 특성)

  • Recently, the government has been working feverously to save energy and reduce greenhouse gas emission by enacting Basic Act on Low Carbon Green Growth at the national level. Improving the insulation performance of building exterior and insulator can reduce the energy in the building sector. This study is about developing light-weight foamed concrete insulation panel that can be applied to buildings to save energy and to find the optimal condition for the development of insulation materials that can save energy by enhancing its physical, kinetic and thermal characteristics. Various experimental factors and conditions were considered in the study such as foam agent types (AES=Alcohol Ethoxy Sulfate, AOS=Alpha-Olefin Sulfonate, VS=Vegetable Soap, FP=Fe-Protein), foam agent dilution concentration (1, 3, 5%), and foam percentage (30, 50, 70%). Experiment results indicated that the surface tension of aqueous solution including foam agent, was lower when AOS was used over other foam agents. FP produced relatively stable foams in 3% or more, which produced unstable foams containing high water content and low surface tension when diluted at low concentration. Depending on foam agent types, compressive strength and thermal conductivity were similar at low density range but showed some differences at high concentration range. In addition, when concentrations of foam agent and foaming ratio increased, pore size increased and open pores are formed. In all types of foam agent, thermal conductivity were excellent, satisfying KS standards. The most outstanding performance for insulation panel was obtained when FP 3% was used.
