  • According to Torrance, it is said that about 30% of feeble-headed children are bearing potential brilliant quality. Such potential gifted children exist really much more than children who appear to show their own brilliant quality. Nevertheless, research activity to reveal children's potential giftedness has not been relatively actively progressed. Renzulli, Smith and so on progresses research activity to reveal children's potential giftedness and strategies developed by them are being used widely all over the world, but these strategies show the defect that children can not overcome by themselves the interfered factors influenced negatively on their gift revelation. Russian scholar Babaeva made the effective education program to develop children's potential giftedness. Her program includes various activity methods or mental correct activity and psychological training activity and such training activity is realized through some steps and each step has it's own purpose and realization method. With the result that children discriminated as common children by the experimental study which is progressed by the present program participate, their standard of intelligence and originality showed the improved effect of the similar standard to children factors not a little influencing on children's giftedness development process but she also developed the leading concrete study method for the children to overcome this by themselves. In this paper, the present writer will examine potential giftedness development program researched in Russia and discuss their theoretic background and concrete activity course, activity result. Through this, children's have the excellent abilities in various spheres, this writer will obtain significant suggestions to educate the potential gifted children who do not display their own potentialities and do not receive a favor from gifted children program.

  • The intent of this study is to fully investigate the major issues and challenges related to characteristics of gifted children from multicultural families in Korea. The gifted students of multicultural families are currently categorized as disadvantaged gifted students, but they need to be defined more deeply and separately due to the continuous increase of multicultural families. Most culturally different gifted children have common problem such as integrating into Korean culture, often suffering from emotional problems and their parents' economic disadvantage. Due to these problems a variety of issues arise. First, culturally diverse talented students have problems due to the alienation and the lack of equal opportunity given to gifted children of multicultural families in need. Secondly, another issue is whether or not the selection of these students for a gifted and talented program is administered equally and fairly. Thirdly students and teachers may have difficulty forming relationships. Fourth, there is a dire need to address the issue of a lack of formal education policy. for these students. Fifth, the formulation of a gifted and talented program solely for multicultural students is necessary. Sixth, educating the parents of such students remains a critical challenge. Seventh, the last issue arises from a lack of research regarding the identity of multicultural gifted children in Korea. In this study, we discuss each of these issues in-depth. Additionally the future of Korean Multicultural Gifted selection, training in the field, school direction and it's implications are discussed.

So the validity and reliability of the OSPG has an influence on securing validity of the whole identification process. The purpose of this study is to examine the validity and reliability of the OSPG-2 that input screening processing, and to suggest systematization of identification processing for the Gifted in Korean traditional and Western Music. For the achievement of this purpose, this study administered the OSPG-2 to 261 gifted students aged between 13 and 16 in the middle or high school for the arts. To validate the OSPG-2, I analyzed items of the OSPG-2, and conducted the exploratory and confirmative factor analysis. I also examined the internal consistency. As a result of the exploratory factor analysis, I collected 40 items of the OSPG-2 finally. Furthermore, I could identify psychological construct of the Gifted in Korean traditional and Western Music. The consequence of confirmative factor analysis, the model provided good fit to observed data. As a result of reliability analysis, the internal consistency of the internal characteristic verified Cronbach's ${\alpha}$=.939, and the internal consistency of the external environmental characteristic verified Cronbach's ${\alpha}$=.887. This result of validity study reflects the fact that the OSPG-2 is a valid scale and is able to input to gifted educational field instantly.

  • Learning styles affect how students access and handle their task, so it is very important to understand how they study, when planning teaching-learning process, to enhance their potential to the maximum. In addition, in order to improve the quality of gifted education, there is a need to examine the curriculum and teaching-learning process which reflect learner characteristics. In this study, gifted student's preferred learning styles are investigated using questionnaires and learning style inventory. Also by analyzing the characteristics of the learners, it is hoped to get parents and teachers to understand the gifted who have various talents, and to support teaching programs for the gifted in order to develop their potential. This study shows that there are differences in the studying style between the gifted child and the average child. Namely, learner's physical and psychological environment can affect learning styles. Also there is a difference between the studying style which the gifted students prefer and the teaching style which teachers use most frequently. Programs for the gifted should be planned through better understanding of the characteristics of the learners.

  • Education related issues are social problems in which various groups and situations are intricately linked to each other. It is difficult to find issues by analyzing social phenomena related to education. Korean based text analysis can be analyzed in a quantitative. With the development of text analysis techniques, research results have been recently achieved, and it can be fully utilized to derive educational issues from text data in Korean. In this study, petition articles in the field of childcare/education were collected on the online-board of the Blue House National Petition website, and text analysis was used to derive issues in the education world. The analysis derived 6 topics through Latent Dirichlet Allocation(LDA) among topic modeling techniques. The association rules of major keywords were analyzed and visualized as graphs. In addition to deriving educational issues through the existing questionnaire, it can provide implications for future research directions and policies in that issues can be sufficiently discovered through text-based analysis methods.

  • There was a great need to consider a core competency-based approach as a new direction of the science education for gifted students according to the value and vision of the 21st century knowledge-based societies. Therefore we developed a core competency model of scientist and examined its validity as a prerequisite for a core competency-based education of science gifted students. In order to this, the survey was conducted after developing questionnaire through the theoretical review of the various resources such as paper, book, and newspaper articles and the qualitative analysis of the behavioral event interview, and then an exploratory factor analysis was performed to validate the factor structure based on the results of the survey. The results revealed that the core competency model with the 5 cluster units of competency and the 15 core competencies was potentially constituted. And the reliability, convergent validity, and discriminant validity of the core competency model were verified through the confirmatory factor analysis. The cognitive cluster consisted of 5 competencies and they were as follows: creative, comprehensive, exploratory, analytical, and conceptual thinking competency. The achievement-orientation cluster consisted of 3 competencies and they were as follows: initiative, preparation & problem solving, and strategic influence competency. The scientific attitude cluster consisted of 3 competencies and they were as follows: flexible thinking & attitude, passion for research, and views about science competency. The personal effectiveness cluster consisted of 2 competencies and they were as follows: diverse experiences and global attitude competency.
