In this research i am going to recognize the importance of characters and trace the points of sameness in the characters that appear in the 3D animations by analysing them. For this, 1 divided the characters that made lots of box-office profits all over the world and were made at Pixar which focused on characters and stories into 7 types according to written by Vladimir Propp and grasped the characters with MBTI system. 1 found out the points of sameness between the characters with this system. That will be able to be made use of referring the streams of stories and fixing the characters at the planning and producing stages. If we should make a study of figures, expressions, motions of the characters in connection with this research, it could help us to create the characters which are suitable for animations not only formative elements but also acting.

  • This paper examines how split-screen technique works to meet the goals and strategies of the narrative in the romantic comedy films which deal with love and sex. The plot of romantic comedy films aims to the union and marriage of the couple, but is structured to delay the union as much as possible through comical situations and episodes. Usually split-screen scenes are placed before plot point 2 and serve to make a laugh and humor. Besides, it helps focusing on two main characters. Comedy related to love and sex comes from information gap between two main characters which can cause a tension, double meaning of spoken words and combination of split-screen images. Michael Gordon's Pillow Talk(1959) and Peyton Reed's Down with Love(2003) are reviewed in this study.

  • Applying VR technology to animation areas is emerging as a trend of recent years. So if you use this VR technology in traditional ink animation, 2D art piece is expected to be equipped with a new narrative style and visual and auditory language, making it a new animation genre. There's a lot of technical difficulties in putting the existing 2D ink image on a 360 degree display. VR ink animation has been created that gives depth to VR space by using layer extraction method based on depth of distance and placing layers extracted on curved surface that is aligned with depth in 360-degree space in the image of ink painting, which is the background of traditional ink animation. In the text, we took an overview on problems generated in extracting layers of distant view, close-range view and middle distant view from the existing image of ink painting and made suggestions of an effective way to approach them.

  • This study compares in depth the song performed by two groups, one by 'Seo Taiji And His Boys'(X Generation) and the other by 'BTS'(C Generation) based on the discourse about the 'X Generation' in the 1990s and the 'C Generation' in the 2010s. It will specifically focus on the nature of 'home' that has great significance in the music video and will find the sociocultural meaning of it. Based on the analysis, the original performance by 'Seo Taiji and The Boys' demonstrated the vertical structure of enlightenment and discipline and narrated the story with the plot of 'maturity'. The meaning of 'home' in the original version shifts from a target of resistance to a subject of internalization. The remake music video of BTS demonstrated a horizontal structure of empathy and solidarity and narrated the story with the plot of 'pursuit/discovery'. The 'home' here can be considered the life itself of a person who maintains one's self identity.
