Study on the Effect of the Cognitive Performance, Self-Efficacy and Self-Esteem on the Players' Flow Experience during Playing Online Games (온라인 게임 플레이 과정에서 인지적 성과, 자아효능감, 자아존중감이 플레이어의 몰입 경험에 미치는 영향)

  • This study has focused to identify what kinds of psychological state are most closely related in players experiencing flow while playing game. This study constructs a conceptual model of flow for game players by conducting a survey to 303 online game players. The results indicate that the state of flow was reached when players may gain opportunities for having high self-efficacy as they accomplished tasks. At the same time, it indicate that the higher cognitive performance and self-esteem was able to enhance the higher flow experience while playing a game. This study provides both practical and theoretical implications on how to increase players' flow by providing critical psychological states in the game.

The Effects of Lifelong Education for the Elderly People on Self-esteem and Self-integration -Mediating Effect of Empowerment- (노년기 평생교육이 자아존중감과 자아통합감에 미치는 영향 -임파워먼트의 매개효과-)

  • Today's elderly people is no longer dependent, but is being transformed into learning, serving, producing and contributing. Therefore, the importance of lifelong education for the elderly people to overcome the social and psychological anxiety of the elderly people and improve the quality of life is increasingly emphasized. In addition, the starting point of lifelong education for the elderly people is getting faster and faster to prepare for the post-aged society. The purpose of this study is to examine how lifelong education for the elderly people affects self-esteem and self-integration, and how empowerment mediates between lifelong education for the elderly people and self-esteem, lifelong education for the elderly people and self-integration. To this end, 220 members over 50 years of age who participated in lifelong education responded to the survey, and statistical analysis was conducted by SPSS and AMOS. The results of this study proved that lifelong education for the elderly people improves self-esteem, self-integration and empowerment, and empowerment plays a mediating role in the between lifelong education for the elderly people and self-esteem, and in the between lifelong education for the elderly people and self-integration. As a result of this study, the importance of lifelong education for the elderly people was confirmed and the practical plans were found. Finally, the direction of lifelong education for the elderly people and the limitations of this study were discussed.

The Effect of Satir's Communication and Self-esteem on Impulse buying of Clothing (역기능적 의사소통 및 자아 존중감이 청소년의 의복 충동구매행동에 미치는 영향)

  • The purposes of this study were to segment adolescents into groups by Satir's communication and self-esteem and to investigate the differences among the groups regarding impulse buying of clothing and clothing behavior. The study distributed the questionnaires to the adolescents who were high school students in seoul. The total respondents were 596. The data were analyzed by factor analysis, k-means cluster analysis, ANOVA, Duncan test, regression and ${\chi}2-test$. Factor analysis showed that impulse buying of clothing had three dimensions: sensitive aspects of products stimulation, marketing situation stimulation and non-Plan stimulation. K-means cluster analysis showed that adolescents were segmented into four groups(blame-high self esteem, placate-high self esteem, blame-low self esteem, placate-low self esteem). The four groups were significantly different in regard to three dimensions of sensitive aspects of products stimulation, marketing situation stimulation and non-plan stimulation. For example, placate-high and low self esteem groups were influenced by sensitive aspects of products stimulation and marketing situation stimulation(-). And blame-high and low self esteem groups were influenced by marketing situation stimulation.

The Effect of Self-Esteem, Self-Efficacy, and Attributional Disposition on Speech Apprehension in College Students (대학생의 자아존중감, 자기효능감 및 귀인성향이 스피치 불안감에 미치는 영향)

  • The goal of this study is to examine the impact of self-esteem, self-efficacy, and attributional disposition on communication apprehension in college students. The research problems were verified by correlation analysis and multivariate regression analysis. A questionnaire survey was conducted on 239 college students. The findings are as follows: First, the higher level group in the self-esteem and self-efficacy have lower communication apprehension scores than the lower level group. Particularly, it is found that self-confidence in self-efficacy variables has the greatest effect on communication apprehension. Second, college students with high internal attributional disposition tend to feel less communication apprehension, while college students with high other's attributional disposition and accidental attributional disposition tend to have higher communication apprehension. Third, as a result of examining the relative effects of self-esteem, self-efficacy, and attributional disposition on communication apprehension, self-efficacy is found to have the greatest effect.

Relationships among Self-Leadership, Self-Esteem, Interpersonal Competence, And College Life Adjustment of Premedical Students (의예과 학생의 셀프리더십, 자아존중감, 대인관계유능감, 대학생활적응 간의 관계)

  • The purpose of this study was to provide basic data to help premedical students better adapt to college life by analyzing the relationship between their self-leadership, self-esteem, interpersonal competence, and college life adjustment. The subjects of this study were 131 premedical students in a C city. The results of this study were as follows: The mean score for self-leadership were 3.86(±0.61). For self-esteem and interpersonal competence, college life adjustment mean score were 3.86(±.61), and 3.44(±.48), 3.78(±.52), and with no gender difference(p>0.05). Significant positive correlation between college life adjustment, self-leadership, self-esteem, and interpersonal competence(p<0.05). Self-leadership indirectly effects it through the mediation of self-esteem and interpersonal competence, while self-esteem and interpersonal competence directly effects college life adjustment, self-esteem indirectly effects it through the mediation of interpersonal competence. This study provided information on the factors effect college life adjustment, and confirmed that self-esteem is an essential educational content. It is hoped that this study will contribute to the development and activation of educational programs to help college life adaptation.

  • The purpose of this study is to ascertain the effect of Art program for runaway Youths Self-esteem and Depression. Sstaying at the youth shelter located in Gwang ju. The subjects were assinged to two groups, an experimental group and a control group evenly. Coopersmith Self- Esteem Inventory was used measure the level of self-esteem, Beck Depression Inventory for depression. The collected data were analyzed by T-test according to the purpose of the study. The results of the study were as follows; The art program showed a positive effect on increasing the level of self-esteem and decreasing the level of depression of experimental group In comparison with those of control group.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of reading education program for high school on students' self-esteem and reading attitude and satisfaction of students through the whole reading education process. The program that consists of 10 classes was developed and reading education was conducted. Through analysis of pre-post variance in self-esteem and reading attitude, effects of reading education has been proved. Also, satisfaction as evaluation about the whole reading education process was surveyed. As a result, it was found that reading education that uses program based on board game affects high school students' self-esteem and reading attitude, enhances reading attitude and promotes reading motivation.

In this study, this BLOG system is designed for improving self-esteem in the class by using these characteristic of BLOG. the internet activity of students and their normal activity in the classroom connects with The Star-Gift-Shop module. This module induces students to an active BLOG, activity with interest. as a result of this activity in the class BLOG system, students improves their computer application ability and confidence of them. Which is effected teacher's efficient classroom management.

  • The objective of this study was to investigate factors influencing subjective happiness index of health behavior, self esteem and major satisfaction by nursing students. Findings revealed that; 1) Pearson's correlation revealed a significant association among health behavior, self esteem, major satisfaction and happiness index ; 2) hierarchical multiple regression analysis showed self esteem and major satisfaction significantly influenced happiness index in nursing students. These findings can be utilized to development of strategies for increasing happiness index of nursing students.

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the mediating effect of self-esteem in the relationship between social participation and human rights awareness of the elderly. The subjects of the study were 1418 seniors aged 65 and above residing in 14 cities and counties in Jeollabuk-do. The results are as followed. First, the higher the social participation of the elderly, the higher the human rights awareness. Second, self-esteem of the elderly indirectly mediated the relationship between social participation.
