Explicating Personal Health Informatics Experience (퍼스널 헬스케어 디바이스 사용자 경험 연구)

  • Recent advances in wearable devices and quantified-self movement increase the number of personal informatics application that may cause an concern to health industry and user. In this light, the goal of this study is to identify more effective ways of design and evaluation of personal informatics application for self-tracking and delivering health information to users. For this goal, this study conducted areal-world study that processes such that user can assess, be aware of, and self-reflect on their data and behavior activity. In doing so, this study aims to determine the psychological effects of forms of health feedback (comparative vs. non-comparative) and presentation modes (text vs. image) on users' tendencies toward health conservation. Results from a between-subjects experiment revealed that health information in a comparative and textual format was more effective in encouraging health conservation in participants than identical information presented in a non-comparative and image format. In addition, participants' level of health consciousness emerged as a significant predictor. Through this analysis of quantitative data and inferences, this study make a number of contributions to the user affordance research and its methodology of health informatics study and designing personal informatics application that support user's behavior change in various contexts.

A Study on the Analysis of Reflective Journal of the Character Development Program of Christian University (기독교 대학의 인성 함양 프로그램 성찰저널 분석 연구 : K대학교의 밀알훈련 사례를 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the journal of reflection of students who participated in the character improvement education program. And it is a study that suggests ways to develop the program according to the results of analysis. Then, by collecting 208 reflective journals of students who participated in Milal training at K University, After the analysis was performed in the process of transcription, coding, and subject discovery, reliability was secured by calculating the Kappa coefficient for the analysis frame and analysis suitability. According to the results of the analysis of reflection journal. Through Milal training, the Milal spirit was understood as sacrificial service (sacrifice, devotion, lowering, serving, death, decay) and Milal (reproduction). We confirmed that It will have a life attitude related to the themes of labor (hardwork, work, patience, patience, perseverance). It can be said that through Milal training, self-reflection activities can be promoted, community character and collaboration skills can be cultivated, and the spirit of sacrificial service can be acquired. Through the results of this reflection journal analysis, it is necessary to further enhance the Milal training program, and it will be possible to provide implications to the character cultivation programs of other universities.

New Roles and Identity of Literary Writers from the Perspective of Cultural Intermediary (문화매개자 개념으로 바라본 문학 작가의 새로운 역할과 정체성)

  • Contemporary literary writers engage in multiple jobs and activities in the changing industrial and institutional environments to manage careers and produce literary value. The notion of art entrepreneurship envisages writers as the actors pursuing optimal rewards at both literary and economic levels by applying creative knowledge and skills to the management of career. In contrast, the notion of creative labor argues that writers go through career insecurity as they pursue self-fulfillment through work. This paper critically reviews two notions and suggests the notion of cultural intermediaries to better understand their production of literary value within the variety of relational contexts where they are situated. This paper analyzes the structures and characteristics of a wide range of intermediary practices by literary writers. Based on the analysis, I argue that the autonomy of literary value the writers construct and their status of entrepreneur-labourer are contingent upon the relational contexts within which they practice the intermediary work. I also suggest that literary writers by utilizing a variety of tactics cope with the changes that shape the autonomy of literature and invent new roles and identities as cultural intermediaries. Furthermore, literary writers develop not only self-management skills to adapt to the changing environments but also the collective capacity to cope with the constraints derived from the structural change of literary production and circulation. Finally, I argue that the art management discipline can reflect upon and support the creative endeavors of literary writers by embracing the critical understanding of structural changes suggested by the disciplines of humanities and social sciences.

Synthesis of La0.7Sr0.3Mn1-xIrxO3 thin-films in search of superconductivity

  • High-TC superconductivity (HTSC) has been the central issue in the field of condensed matter physics for decades. An essential part of the research on superconductivity is finding new exotic superconductors. It was recently suggested that Ir-substituted La0.7Sr0.3MnO3 (LSMIO) is a new high-TC superconductor. However, systematic studies to experimentally verify the superconductivity have not been done. Here, we report the growth processes of LSMIO thin films and their electrical transport properties. We observed a clear negative correlation between the intensity of the laser utilized for film deposition and the Curie temperature of the deposited film. We attributed this effect to the suppression of Sr concentration in the LSMIO films as the laser intensity increased. However, our LSMIO films show conventional ferromagnetism instead of HTSC. To realize the HTSC in LSMIO systems, further exploration of diverse compositions of LSMIO compounds is essential.

Psychological Interpretation of Imagery Experiences in the Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music (BMGIM) Focused on the Cases of Two Women from a Jungian Perspective (BMGIM 심상경험의 심리학적 해석 : 융 학파의 관점에서 본 두 여성의 사례를 중심으로)

  • BMGIM is a method of individual psychotherapy which seeks to achieve self-knowledge via imagery experiences evoked by music. When dealing with imagery in BMGIM, emphasis is placed on the insight of the client, but there are occasions when clients sometimes are confused because they cannot understand their imagery experiences. Also therapists and clients tend to consider experiences of BMGIM from a causalistic-reductive perspective. In order to understand the meaning of BMGIM imagery experiences, in this thesis imagery experiences are interpreted from a Jungian perspective that understands imagery as a symbol and stresses the purposive meaning. At first the definition and procedures of BMGIM are dealt with, secondly music and imagery as components of BMGIM are examined, and lastly the symbolic meaning of two female clients' BMGIM imageries are discussed. Looking into deeply imagery experiences, both therapist and clients newly came to realize not only the symbolic meaning of imageries but also the purposive meaning of wounds and sufferings of clients, especially I was able to confirm the following three points. First, just like dreams or active imagination, BMGIM also deals with spontaneous contents of the psyche. Second, the autonomy of the objective psyche which orients the development of personality, healing and wholeness is also revealed in BMGIM. Lastly, Jungian perspective aids in understanding the meaning of the imagery experiences in a more deep and abundant way. From this point, BMGIM can also be seen as a useful therapeutic tool which deals with the unconscious such as dream analysis or active imagination.

A Consideration on Creativity of the Unconscious: Focusing on a Series of Dreams (무의식의 창조성에 관한 하나의 고찰: 일련의 꿈을 중심으로)

  • Humanity has faced destruction(chaos) due to catastrophes (Covid-19, war, earthquake) and awaits a new restoration. For civilizations and individuals, creation or creativity is essential to psychic development. Creativity is the driving force that renews an individual when a new stance and attitude of consciousness or a new adaptation to reality is desperately needed in the depth of the human mind. This article is the result of an exploration of the nature and characteristics of creativity presented by a series of four dreams. First, the definition and form of creativity were explored in the context of religion, mythology, and history of Eastern and Western. While Western mythology refers to creation or creativity originating from God, ancient China viewed creativity as expressed through the interaction of yin and yang, the movement of Tao. In East and West, the form of creation is divided into creation from nothing, creation from matter, and creation through dissolution from the matrix, which psychologically suggests that creativity or creation originates from the unconscious, the seedbed of infinite potential and creative power. Next, with insights from the second dream, the characteristics of creativity were discussed. Creativity occurs through transcendent function and 'going beyond the frame of reference,' that is, 'transgressivity.' Third, the nature of creativity was explored as the creativity of the unconscious aims for regeneration and drives the renewal of Self archetypal images within the collective and individuals. Ultimately, the creativity of the unconscious is the goal of the whole psyche and aims for individuation to become the whole. Realizing the creativity of the unconscious is the fate of humans as the second creator.

Zwei Perspektiven für die Kunst - Kants Ästhethik des Empfangenden und Nietzsches Physiologie der Kunst - (예술에 대한 두 가지 태도 - 칸트의 수용미학과 니체의 예술생리학 -)

  • Der vorliegende Beitrag zielt darauft ab, zwei Perspektiven $f{\ddot{u}}r$ die Kunst bei Kant und Nietzsche und ihre Schlussfolgerungen zu $er{\ddot{o}}rtern$. Kants Kritik der Urteilskraft hat eine enorme Rolle in der Geschichte der ${\ddot{A}}sthetik$ gespielt. $F{\ddot{u}}r$ Kant sollen ${\ddot{a}}sthetische$ Urteile ebenso wie Erkenntnis- und Moralurteile $allgemeing{\ddot{u}}ltig$ sein, obwohl sie auf einem $pers{\ddot{o}}nlichen$ Geschmack beruhen. Die $Allgemeing{\ddot{u}}ltigkeit$ des $Sch{\ddot{o}}nen$ sei $m{\ddot{o}}glich$, weil sie nicht auf dem Gegenstand, sondern auf dem transzendentalen Subjekt basiere. Die $sch{\ddot{o}}ne$ Kunst als Kunst des Genies soll uns wie die $Natursch{\ddot{o}}nheit$ ohne Interesse wohlgefallen. Nietzsches Stellungnahme zu Kants ${\ddot{A}}sthetik$ ist sehr kritisch. Nietzsches erster Kritikpunkt richtet sich gegen das 'interesselose Wohlgefallen'. Gegen Kant behauptet Nietzsche, dass die $Sch{\ddot{o}}nheit$ sehr wohl mit Interesse verbunden ist. Grund $daf{\ddot{u}}r$ ist, dass das $Sch{\ddot{o}}ne$ wesentlich aus dem Willen zur Macht entspringt. Der zweite Kritikpunk Nietzsches liegt darin, dass in Kants ${\ddot{A}}sthetik$ die Moral im Vordergrund steht. Das $Sch{\ddot{o}}ne$ ist $f{\ddot{u}}r$ Kant durch die Moral gerechtfertigt. Nietzsche dreht diese Stellung der Moral zur Kunst um. Der dritte Kritikpunkt Nietzsches ist, dass Kant statt von der Erfahrung des $K{\ddot{u}}nstlers$ (Schaffenden) aus das ${\ddot{a}}sthetische$ Problem zu betrachten, allein vom Zuschauer (Empfangenden) aus ${\ddot{u}}ber$ die Kunst und das $Sch{\ddot{o}}ne$ nachgedacht habe. $F{\ddot{u}}r$ Nietzsche ist die Kunst $prim{\ddot{a}}r$ vom $K{\ddot{u}}nstler$ aus zu verstehen. Nietzsches Physiologie der Kunst ist mit dem Begriff 'Leib' $verkn{\ddot{u}}pft$, d.h. Nietzsche behauptet, dass physiologische und ${\ddot{a}}sthetische$ Prozesse wesentlich $zusammenh{\ddot{a}}ngen$. Die Schlussfolgerung der Physiologie der Kunst lautet: erstens, jeder Mensch ist $K{\ddot{u}}nstler$, sofern er schaffend ist, und zweitens, die Welt selbst ist nichts als Kunst. Nietzsches Physiologie der Kunst hat einen $gro{\ss}en$ Einfluss auf die $gegenw{\ddot{a}}rtige$ Kunst $ausge{\ddot{u}}bt$ und kein anderer Philosoph hat auf die $gegenw{\ddot{a}}rtige$ Kunst nachaltiger gewirkt.
