  • The aim of this study was to investigate the factors influencing nurses' pain management in patients with dementia. A total of 197 nurses were recruited from 30 long-term care hospitals in B city. Data were collected from June 25 to July 15, 2016. Data analysis was performed using the SPSS 22.0 program, which included a t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression analyses. The levels of knowledge were low with a score of 10.73 out of 18. The level of attitudes, self-efficacy, barriers and performance were 2.98, 3.34, 2.90, and 4.09, respectively. In addition, there were significant differences in the level of performance depending on the age (p=.046), long-term care (p=.009), and pain education (p=.004). The level of attitudes (r=.21, p=.006), self-efficacy (r=.51, p<.001) and performance were positively correlated with each other. A significant negative correlation was observed between the barriers and performance (r=-.16, p=.035). The meaningful variables that influence the performance were self-efficacy, long-term care, and pain education. These factors were responsible for 30.1%. Therefore, effective programs will be necessary to enhance pain management by improving the self-efficacy and knowledge of pain in dementia patients.

  • This purpose of this study is to examine how emotional intelligence has a moderating effect on the relationship between emotional labor and job burnout. To test the hypotheses, moderation analysis, mediation analysis and moderated mediation analysis were performed. Of the 1,500 self-report questionnaires distributed to franchise employees, 1,412 usable responses and utilized in the final analyses. The resoults show that emotional labor significantly affected job burnout, and job burnout completely mediated the effect of emotional labor on turnover intention. And emotional intelligence moderated the relationship between emotional labor and job burnout, suggesting that the emotional dissonance-job burnout relationship was stronger in the low emotional intelligence group than in the high emotional intelligence group. The results of this study provide some implications for Korean companies entering the Chinese franchise field. First, the mediating effects of "emotional labor → job burnout → turnover intention" and the effect of emotional labor on job burnout were mitigated by self-efficacy in Chinese franchise workers. And the self-efficacy of the employees was an important factor. The implication of this study is that self-efficacy, which is a controlling variable affecting emotional labor, job burnout, and turnover intention, is important, so Korean companies that enter the Chinese franchise employ employees with high self-efficacy and to develop and implement an employee education program that can enhance self-efficacy.

  • We study convergent influence on Job Satisfaction(JS) and its association with Self Efficacy(SE), Job Characteristics(JC) and Occupational Stress(OS) among Hospital Administrative Staff(HAS). The survey was administered to 221 staff from 11 general hospitals located in Jeonbuk area from Nov. 1st, 2016 to Jan. 31st, 2017. The structured self-administered questionaries were used. JS was positively correlated with SE and three sub-domains of JC, and it was negatively correlated with seven sub-domains of OS. With the analysis of covariance structure, OS was more influential on JS than SE and JC. The study found the higher SE and JC, and the lower OC tend to increase JS. The results indicate that the efforts, to increase SE and JC, and to decrease OS, are required to increase the JS of HAS. The results are expected to be useful for organization personnel management to increase the JS of HAS. In the following study, the analysis about convergent additional factors of influence on JS will be needed.

  • To improve management performance, medical institutions have great attentions to selecting the good employee. Through job placement, recruited employee performing a given task, previous studies have lack of research, how job environment affects the individual perception of job ability and individual performance. Therefore, targeting at the health care professional employees who work in the hospital, 134 questionnaire data collected, this study performed an empirical study on the relationship between person-job fit, self-efficacy and individual performance. Specifically, mediating effect of self-efficacy between person-job fit and individual performance was verified. The results indicate that first, person-job fit appeared to affect significantly to the sub-factor of self-efficacy (self-adjustment, confidence, goal-difficulty). Second, among the self-efficacy sub-factor, self-adjustment, confidence appeared to influence to the individual performance. Third, self-adjustment was fully mediated between person-job fit and individual performance and confidence was partially mediated between person-job fit and individual performance. These findings have the theoretical implications that self-efficacy studies are expanded to environmental factors and practical implications and study's limitations are discussed in terms of hospital organization's human resource management.

  • This research, which was conducted for dental hygienists, intended to check out what factors have an influence on their behaviors by measuring the level of self-efficacy and consciousness on the use of radiation, knowledge and attitude on radiation safety management(RSM). The subjects were 235 of the dental hygienists and this study performed a survey 8 May to 17 June, 2011. The survey results were as follows. 1. As a result of comparing the average of the self-efficacy according to the general characteristics, a statistically meaningful difference(p<0.05) was found according to health condition, protection facilities condition. 2. As a result of comparing the average of consciousness about radiation use according to the general characteristics, a statistically meaningful difference(p<0.05) was found according to medical institute type, protection facilities conditions. 3. As a result of comparing the average of the behaviors for RSM according to the general characteristics, a statistically meaningful difference(p<0.05) was found according to monthly income, medical institute type, whether or not education on radiation was conducted, the number of education, education type, and protection facilities condition. 4. As a result of analyzing what factors have an influence on the behaviors for RSM by employing the points of those behaviors as a dependent variable and self-efficacy, consciousness, knowledge and attitude as an independent variable in order to investigate those factors, it turned out that the factors which had a relatively larger influence on the point of behaviors were attitude and self-efficacy by that order(p<0.05). In conclusion, we believe that a variety of programs should be offered to provide knowledge on RSM as a prerequisite for improving the level of RSM behaviors by dental hygienists.

  • With the advent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution modern society demands global convergence talent with expertise. The purpose of this study is to suggest the Person-organizational Fit can be enhanced only when university institutions enhance the learning flow and learning interest of Chinese students. Only when the suitability of Chinese students and Univ. is good will it be of great help to the educational performance and administrative management of international students, and the learning atmosphere and university image can be promoted. However, international students with excessive self-efficacy may have a negative effect on Person-organizational Fit to making it difficult to educate and manage students. On the other hand, for international students with low self-efficacy, the higher the immersion in learning, the higher the individual-organization (Univ) suitability.
