  • The purpose of this study was to identify experiences of core basic nursing skills(CBNS), self-confidence during clinical practice and clinical competence in 208 nursing students attending nursing department and understand which factor, either experiences of CBNS or self-confidence during clinical practice has an impact on clinical competence. Our research findings are as follows. There was a positive correlation between experiences of CBNS, self-confidence during clinical practice and clinical competence. The factor that had the biggest impact on clinical competence was self-confidence during clinical practice and the explanation power of both factors was 31.2%, based on multiple regression analysis. Based on these findings, nursing educate need to develop a curriculum to increase self-confidence during clinical practice in students.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect on the clinical competence by the face-to-face, non-face-to-face clinical practice stress and the stress coping. A survey was conducted among nursing students of university in Seoul and Chungcheong City from June 10 to July 10, 2021. 201 copies were included in the final data analysis, Pearson's correlation coefficient and hierarchical regressions was used. As a result, in the first stage, nursing students grades, major satisfaction, and face-to-face practice satisfaction explained 19.4% of their clinical performance ability, in the second step, stress coping was added to increase explanatory power by 19.6% allowing a total of 39.0% of randomness to be explained. Therefore, this study could be used as a basic data for the counseling, development, and education programs for stress coping to increase clinical competence.

The data was collected from 169 3rd and 4th grade students in the Department of Nursing, College of Nursing, G province. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, multiple regression. Core experience is negatively correlated with performance confidence (r=.446, p<.001) was negatively correlated with clinical performance (r=-.206, p=.001). It was found to have a negative correlation with (r=-.346, p<.001). In this study, the factors affecting clinical performance were self-confidence (${\beta}=-.317$, p<.001), and clinical performance was 11.3%. Therefore, effective practical education program for improving clinical performance is needed for smooth practical education of nursing students.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the convergence that resilience has on clinical performance ability and stress in clinical practice in order to prepare effective educational materials for clinical practice. The results showed that satisfaction of university life, satisfaction of nursing major and satisfaction of clinical practice had significant effects on resilience, clinical performance ability and stress in clinical practice. Also the correlation between the resilience and clinical performance ability of nursing students was positive(r=.510). And the correlation between the resilience and stress in clinical practice was negative(r=-.153). These findings indicate that there is a need to improve resilience of nursing students to promote the clinical performance ability and to lessen stress in clinical practice. The results should be reflected in the development of effective programs.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the menstrual pain, clinical practice stress, and clinical competence and identify influencing factors of clinical competence of 3rd nursing students who start clinical practice for the first tim. The survey was conducted on 155 nursing students from June 1 to October 30, 2020. Data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test, Pearson correlation coefficients and multiple regression analysis. The degree of influence menstrual pain was 5.01points, clinical practice stress was 2.82points, clinical competence was 3.42points. Menstrual pain was positive correlated with clinical practice stress(r=.319, p=.000), and menstrual pain was negative correlated with clinical competence(r=-.279, p=.000). Clinical practice stress was negative correlated with clinical competence(r=-.333, p=.005). Menstrual pain was main factor that affects clinical competence. The model explained 25.0% of the variables. Therefore, intervention education is needed to reduce menstrual pain in order to improve the clinical competence of nursing students.
