Performance Indicator and Threshold Value of National Highway Jointed Concrete Pavements (일반국도 줄눈 콘크리트 포장의 성능인자와 임계한도)

  • Recently, researches on the performance warranty contracting has been going on to improve construction quality in road pavement area. The performance warranty contracting gives construction companies opportunity to select materials and methods freely while asks them to maintain a certain level of performance during a given period. To introduce the performance warranty contracting in Korea, lots of research results on performance indicator and threshold value of asphalt pavement have been made to be included in the warranty specification. However, research effort on the performance indicator and threshold value of concrete pavement which is commonly constructed in expressway and national highway has not been enough. In this study, the warranty duration, performance indicator, and threshold value of the concrete pavement were investigated by reviewing literatures on cases of the performance warranty contracting in European countries and states of the US. Major distresses influencing the performance of jointed concrete pavement were investigated and analyzed to be compared to the warranty duration, performance indicator, and threshold value of foreign countries.

  • Recently, researches to introduce the performance warranty contract are in progress for quality improvement of road pavements. The performance warranty contract is a type of contract in which contractors guarantee to maintain certain level of performance during a period from completion of construction. The contract use in Europe and the U.S is being increased because it has been known to contribute to improvement of structure quality, reduction of life cycle cost, development of construction techniques, and etc. The research on performance indicators, threshold values, and warranty durations is essential to effectively introduce the contract in Korea. In this study, literatures on the performance warranty contract for concrete pavements of the Minnesota, Indiana, and Florida of the U.S. were reviewed. Major distresses influencing the pavement performance were investigated and analyzed in the jointed concrete pavement sections of 21 Korean expressway routes to be compared to the performance indicators, threshold values, and warranty durations of the states. More accurate comparison is expected by investigation in planned sections for a long time.

  • Existing specifications of road pavement require contractors to meet only materials and construction conditions regardless of pavement life. There are limitation of developing road pavement technology and possibility causing dispute between ordering organization and contractor with this type of specification. Research efforts to introduce performance warranty contracting are in progress in the field of road pavement to improve the problems. The performance warranty contracting gives the contractors opportunity to select materials and construction methods as they like. But they should satisfy a certain level of performance during a given period. The performance indicator and threshold value of pavement which are main elements of the warranty specification should be defined first to introduce the performance warranty contracting successfully. In this study, the performance indicator, threshold value, and warranty duration of asphalt pavement were investigated by reviewing literatures on performance warranty contracting of some states of the US. Major distresses influencing the performance of the asphalt pavement were investigated at 24 national expressway lines and national highway lines in 16 regions, and the data were analyzed to be compared to the cases of the US. Development of rational performance warranty specification for domestic asphalt pavement is expected based on the research results.

  • This paper analyzes the subsurface stress at the spherical contact using Hamilton equation, and with that data, calculates the fatigue limit under the variations of friction coefficient using fatigue theory. After rough surface being made, this paper figures out the random load generated by contacting to the rough surface, analyzes the stress of its subsurface, and calculates the fatigue limit of the rough surface using fatigue theory. The three parts of the fatigue theory are applied, which are critical plane theory, stress invariant theory and mesoscopic theory.

TFT-LCD Defect Detection Using Multi-level Threshold and Probability Density Function (다단계 임계화와 확률 밀도 함수를 이용한 TFT-LCD 결함 검출)

  • TFT-LCD image consists of ununiform background, random noises and target defect signal components. Defects in TFT-LCD have some intensity variations compared to background region. It is sometimes difficult for human inspectors to figure out. In this paper, we propose multi-level threshold scheme for detection of the real defect using probability density function with Parzen Window. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithms produce promising results and can be applied to automated inspection systems for finding defects in the TFT-LCD image.

Fatigue Crack Initiation and Propagation at Notches (노치 에서의 피로 균열 발생 과 전파 에 관한 연구)

  • The fatigue limits of crack initiation and propagation on the edge elliptical notched semi-infinite plate under completely reversed fatigue stress are determined theoretically. Assuming that the crack initiation and propagation occur when stress intensity factors of notched plate reach the critical values obtained from critical micro-crack length under plain fatigue limit loading and the threshold stress intensity factory, respectively, the fatigue limits of crack initiation and propagation are obtained. The induced theoretical fatigue limit of crack initiation is expressed in terms of plain fatigue limit, critical micro-crack length and notch shape. The one of crack propagation is in terms of threshold stress intensity factor, plain fatigue limit and notch shape. These theoretical results are showed to be in good agreement of Frost's experimental data.

  • 안전벨브설비의 기계적설계와 해석에관련된 가장 중요한 고려사항중의 하나는 설비내의 임계점을 찾아내고 그 점에서의 모우멘트를 계산하는 것이다. 만약 굽힘모우멘트를 적절히 계산하지 않으 연 기술기순에 포함된 하중 및 응력기준에 합격할 수 없을 것이다. 이 모우멘트를 결정하는데 최 소한도 본 부록의 2부에 설명된 다음 하중들을 포함함이 바람직하다. 1. 열팽창 2. 사하중 3. 지진 4. 벨브 송출로부터의 반작용력 5. 기타 기계적하중 안전밸브설비의 핵석에서 교차점, 엘보우, 변이점등을 포함한 모든 중요단면 및 기타 관련된 배 관, 용기및 배관설비와 상호작용하는 그들의 지지점들을 포함함이 바람직하다. 안전밸브설비와 그 에 관련된 배관을 직선 또는 곡선 요소들을 연결된 하나의 통합된 질량계로서 모형화하는 것이 가장 적절하다.

Anti-Spam for VoIP based on Turing Test (튜링 테스트 기반의 VoIP 스팸방지)

  • ITSP(Internet Telephony Service Provider)를 이용한 VoIP 서비스의 사용자가 증가함에 따라 VoIP 스팸은 큰 문제로 대두되고 있다. 기존의 일반 전화 때부터 사용되던 스팸은 실시간적 음성 통신이라는 특성상 콘텐츠 필터링을 하기 어렵기 때문에 롤 행위 패턴 조사를 통해 스패머(Spammer)를 구분하고 있다. 그러나 잘못된 오판으로 인한 문제와 스팸으로 인식하는 임계값을 넘지 않는 한도의 스팸 전송, 그리고 여러 사용자가 하나의 번호를 공유하여 사용하는 경우에는 여전히 스팸의 위협이 남아 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 튜링 테스트를 이용한 VoIP 스팸 방지를 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 송신자에게 튜링 테스트를 거치게 하고, 튜링 테스트를 통과한 사용자만 수신자와 연결이 되는 방식으로 동작한다. 또한 튜링 테스트를 통과한 정상적인 사용자에게는 티켓을 줌으로써 재발신시 거쳐야하는 튜링 테스트의 번거로움을 줄일 수 있다. 제안된 방법은 ASUS WL-500G 무선 공유기 및 Asterisk IP-PBX에서 구현되었고 실험을 통해 제안된 방법의 유효성을 검증하였다.
