  • This study focuses on the emergence of "hobby-preneurs" and the ways in which they are transforming the virtuous cycle of arts and cultural ecology. The hobby-preneur pursues and expands his or her favorite hobby into a professional job and/or arts business. Hobby-preneurs are the new driving force in the arts and cultural industry. Their activities enhance the arts as a public good even as they build valuable social capital for arts organizations and have a profound impact on supply and demand in the arts and cultural marketplace. Thus we found that by injecting and potentiating certain values that professional artists cannot directly deliver to arts consumers, hobby-preneurs function as major intermediaries in the virtuous cycle of arts and cultural ecology. To understand more about these emergent actors we examine their personal, social, and economic values and how these values guide their arts-related activities and thereby impact the ecology of the arts and cultural sector. In this study we use a phenomenological approach to investigate five hobby-preneurs and the particular ways their acquisition of professionalism is transforming the arts education node of the virtuous cycle in the creative sector.

  • A matter of primary concern about all design is concentrated on how to create more valuable things to allow people to live an affluent life. However, it is very difficult to achieve the goal because every design work is changed in accordance with given situatio ns. In this sense, it is significant to study on biodesign because it can be both a basic principle and a fudamantal index to show the way of new design direction. Accordingly, the main purpose of the thesis is to catch every meaning of bio-design and to close analyze its factors in order to generate more fresh ideas and put them into practice. The thesis is composed of five Chapters: Introduction, Background of bio-design, Principle of bio-design, Practice of bio-design, and Conclusion. In Introduction, the purpose and background of the study are presented. I n Chapter 2, source of design orgin, vernacular design, and design for life are researched. In Chapter 3, organic order. the survial of the fittest, and subjective & objective are considered. • Off-Site Construction (OSC) is a new construction method based on factory production. OSC (Off-Site Construction) is a new construction method based on factory production. Researches such as OSC-related design and production standardization, transport methods are actively conducted in the U.S., UK and other parts of the world as this new method has an edge over existing methods in terms of productivity, economy and quality. As the emergence of this new area requires reasonable management, an analysis of the scope of construction project management is required accordingly. Therefore, this research analyzed the study trends and relationships at the CM/PM range's "Operation level" to identify areas of study, relationship between studies and deficiencies in current research. This study carried out a comprehensive literature review of the OSC (CM/PM) research by analyzing 94 papers in Operation level as of September 3, 2018, and the analysis results are as follows. (1) Working stage level researches have been increasing rapidly since 2006. (2) Non-volumetric type is contributing most significantly at work stage level. In the building sector, it has been identified that problems such as residential: living, quality issues, non-residential: economic difficulties, factory: productivity problems have been addressed. (4) The Non-volumetric pre-assembly type dealt with the economic feasibility of residential and non-residential buildings, whereas the modular type was studied in regards to assembly quality. (5) From 2006, project management areas (e.g., quality, human resources, risks) have been expanded. It is expected that this research will help find new areas of research for OSC. If the analysis is carried out to the level of the industrial, corporate and project phases in the future, it is deemed that the overall research flow and area of the OSC industry can be identified.

  • Atmospheric environment in Korea is influenced by outside, especially China. The concentrations of air pollutants in China have showed decreasing trends since 2000. However, these concentration levels in China are still higher than other developed countries. The Chinese Government has tried several measures to control the air pollution. In this study, the details of the amendments and smog reduction strategies in China, especially for Beijing are reviewed and the strategies for Korean side to promote cooperation in Northeast Asia are suggested and discussed. The Chinese State Council amended the Environmental Protection Provisions and Clean Air Act and announced The Action Plan for Air Pollution Control (2013-2017), focusing on three key regions, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei area (Jing-Jin-Ji), Yangtze River Delta (YRD) and Pearl River Delta (PRD). These policy actions and plan are mainly for the reducing coal usage and emissions from vehicles. It is suggested that, Korea should actively promote multi-national cooperation in the region to take an initiative role in environmental areas.

  • Concept mapping is a device for representing the conceptual structure of a subject discipline in a two dimensional form which is analogous to a road map. In the teaching and learning of earth science, each concept depends on its relationships to many others for meaning. Using concept mapping in teaching helps teachers and students to be more aware of the key concepts and relationships among them. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of the use of concept mapping on science achievement and the scientific attitude in ocean units of earth science. The results of this study are as follows; first, the science achievement of a group of concept mapping teaching is significantly higher than that of the group of traditional teaching. Also, when the achievement levels are compared among different cognitive ability groups, the effect is more significant in mid or lower level student groups than in high level groups. The use of concept mapping is more effective when the concepts have a distinct concept hierarchy. Second, the scores of the test of ‘attitude toward scientific inquiry’ and ‘application of scientific attitude’ of the group of concept mapping teaching are significantly higher than those of the group of traditional teaching, whereas the scores of the test of ‘interest in science learning’ of concept mapping teaching is not different from those of group of traditional teaching. Third, the survey on the use of concept mapping shows a positive response across the tested groups. The use of concept mapping is more beneficial in fostering the comprehension of the topic. A concept map of student's own construction facilitates the assessment of learning, thus promising the usefulness of concept mapping as a means of evaluation. In regard to retention aspect, concept mapping is considered to be more effective in confirming and remembering the topic, while less effective in the aspects of activity and interest. In conclusion, the use of concept maps makes learning an active meaningful process and improves student's academic achievement and scientific attitude. If the concept mapping is more effectively as an active teaching strategy, more meaningful learning will be attained.

  • To improve the social and economic position of the disabled people and secure their human rights, an integrated society should be buill. To build such a society, an adequate access should be provided to the movement or in using buildings or facilities. The inconveniences from social life on the part of the disabled people might not result from their impairment or disability, but from physical and social barriers in the environment surrounding them. Therefore, it is necessary to reconstruct entire systems of the society as a disabled people-friendly structure in order to remove those barriers, make them stand their own feet in our communities and freely participate in the social activities. This will eventually lead to build a society in which all people including the disabled people can use those facilities in a more convenient way. It is almost impossible for the disabled people to safely and conveniently access to and use facilities and equipments and freely move to their desired places, without any help from others in Korea. Even though, there are currently many disabled people-related convenience facilities, they have been independently built without a connection with other facilities and buildings, thus not greatly useful. Even when convenience facilities have been built, mostly they are superficially set up; therefore, in many cases, the disabled peOple cannot use those facilities. In this. research, I tried a new concept of mobile wheelchair lift design, which the disabled people can operate without restrictions, when using the public facilities. The key to this research was to develop the existing import-oriented simple functional products to a new system with functional safety and high quality orientation. Also, this research aimed at bringing an. import substitution effect, as well as preempting the mobile wheelchair lift market by advancing into overseas markets through application of new image designs in the field of disabled people aid equipments.
