The aim of the research is providing the rheological performance range for manufacturing "mid-workability concrete". The mid-workability concrete means the normal strength range concrete mixture with high workability. Since there is not enough study or quantitative definitions on performance of the mid-workability concrete, in this research, the performance range for high workability of mid-workability concrete mixture using rheology. Because of the mixture characteristics of generally used normal strength concrete such as relatively high water-to-cement ratio and no SCMs, segregation of coarse aggregate should be prevent to achieve a successful high workability. From the experimental study in this research scope, 5 to 35 Pa.s of plastic viscosity was desirable to prevent segregation for nid-workability concrete, and general performance range with rheological parameters was provided.
If conventional reinforcements are used for high-strength concrete (HSC) structures, a large amount of the reinforcement must be required to compensate for the brittleness of HSC and make the best use of HSC. This raises some structural problems such as steel congestion and an increase in self-weight. Therefore, alternative reinforcing materials and methods for HSC structures are needed. In this study, four full-scale beam specimens constructed with HSC (100 MPa) were tested to investigate the effect of the different shear reinforcements on the shear behavior. These four specimens were reinforced for shear stirrups with normal and high strength steels, headed bars, and carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) bars, respectively. In addition, steel fibers were added to the HSC in the two of the specimens to observe their beneficial effects. The use of high strength steels resulted in the improvement of the shear capacity since the shear resistance provided by the shear reinforcements and the bond strength were increased. The specimen reinforced with headed bars also showed a superior performance to the conventional steel reinforced specimen due to the considerably high anchorage strength of headed bar. CFRP bars used in this research, however, seemed to be inadequate for shear reinforcement because of the inferior bond capacity. The presence of the steel fibers in concrete led to remarkable improvement in the ductility of the specimens as well as in the overall cracks control capability.

Nowadays, with high-stoned and large-sized of structures, high-strength concrete is applicable to various methods. When high-strength concrete is used jointly with system form, seizing on the development of compressive strength at early age is very important in aspect of construction process. Because system form is stripped more faster than ordinary form. But, we have little data of compressive strength before system-form is stripped, and it isn't yet established that decision criterion of the time when system-form is stripped. So this paper deals with the development of compressive strength at early age before system-form is stripped. In this study, the experimental results indicate the boundary of curing temperature and mixing factor that is able to get needful early-strength in the application of slip-form method, and curing temperature must be kept over 15 degrees in winter season.

Lightweight concrete is known for its advantage of reducing the self-weight of the structures, reducing the areas of sectional members as well as making the construction convenient. Thus the construction cost can be saved when applied to structures such as long-span bridge and high rise building. However, the lightweight concrete requires specific mix design method that is quite different from the typical concrete, since using the typical mix method would give rise the material segregation as well as lower the strength by the reduced weight of the aggregate. In order to avoid such problems, it is recommended to apply the mix design method of self-consolidating concrete for the lightweight concrete. Therefore experimental tests were performed as such mechanical properties(compressive strength, dry density and structural efficiency) of concrete and dry shrinkage according to ACI committee 209.

If the flexural member of concrete is designed using the FRP rebar, suddenly brittleness destruction resulted from the fracture of FRP rebar is generated in the extreme situation because of brittleness characteristics of FRP rebar and concrete when designed to be less than balanced reinforcement ratio, so it is recommended to design the flexural member of concrete to be more than balanced reinforcement ratio. In ACI 440.1R-06 proposes the different bending strength decrease coefficient according to destructive form of concrete flexural member using the FRP rebar. However, ACI 440.1R-06 applies the same strength decrease coeffient to all FRP rebars made of diverse materials. If the same strength decrease coefficient is applied to all FRP rebars, effect of increasing the reinforcement ratio and selection of FRP rebar will be considerably limited. In this regard, we are to propose the formula to calculate the bending strength decrease coefficient in consideration of change in characteristics of FRP rebar and L/D through the reliability analysis in this paper.

When assessing crack initiation of fiber reinforced concrete, usually tensile strength or flexural strength is becomes indicator, but also depend on the curing effect take place during the production of specimen. In general, after conducting concrete specimen is cured by water at temperature $20{\pm}3^{\circ}C$ in laboratory, and accomplished the assessment of strength, but most of concrete structure is kept in drying condition after moist curing through the prescribed period. However, unlike these trends that technological advances have been made, influence of the difference of curing method on crack strength is not yet clear. Therefore, in this study, it is examined on the effect of curing methods affecting the mechanical property of fiber reinforced concrete, especially crack strength.

The aim of the research is to provide the boundary conditions for segregation of normal strength grade and high fluidity concrete mixture (so called mid-fluidity concrete) with rheology parameters. Since the normal strength grade concrete mixture has a relatively high water-to-cement ratio and no SCMs, it is easy to be segregated when superplasticizer is added. Hence, to achieve the mid-fluidity concrete of normal strength grade and high fluidity, preventing segregation of the mixture is inevitable. In this research, using two superplasticizers with different solid concentrations, the flow behaviors and rheological behaviors were assessed by increasing fluidity until the segregation happened. According to the experiment in this research, an unusual behavior in rheology parameters was observed when the concrete mixture started to be segregated. From this results and report, it is expected to contribute on the definition of segregation with rheological test methods.
