This paper conceptualizes the two-faced platform based on interface studies and two-sided market theory to critically analyze today's information technology culture such as the Internet. With this conceptual framework, the Internet can be investigated to have two faces, in which the square of user's openness, sharing, and participation is unfold on the front face, whereas the market of tracking, surveillance, and control of user's activities is formed on the other face. The two faces contradictorily coexist, resulting in technological and cultural dynamics on the Internet. Therefore, the Internet today as a two-faced platform can be described as a square-market interface. By analyzing on transformation of the web architecture, shift of informational commodity from content to data, and web bugs' user tracking across two faces, it examines how the world wide web itself can function as a two-faced platform. Lastly, implications and further works are suggested to improve the two-faced platform as a conceptual framework and to deeply analyze broader information technology culture based on it.

The purpose of this study is to examine the concept of civic journalism and the contents of Korean Internet newspapers that might reflect the possibilities of this new medium for civic journalism practices. This study examined how far and deep civic journalism practices have extended into Korean Internet newspapers as journalism's new tradition. More specifically, this study analyzed news articles of Korean Internet newspapers to uncover any differences among civic journalism Internet newspapers with different citizen reporter systems. The composite measure based upon ten elements of civic journalism practices was used as indicator of civic journalism practices. To obtain systematic data on news offered by Korean Internet newspapers on the World Wide Web, four major Internet newspapers, including Ohmynews, Ngotimes, Netpinion and Pressian were examined by a content analysis in April and May of 2003. Findings of this study reveal that many Korean newspapers do not fully exploit the opportunities and advantages offered by the new medium for civic journalism practices in online environments. Both aggregate and individual level of analysis for the civic journalism index reveal that there are some differences between non-civic journalism and civic journalism Internet newspapers using citizen reporter systems. However, overall performances of civic journalism Internet newspapers are not good enough to support the argument that civic journalism is well practiced in Korean Internet newspapers. Nonetheless, it would not be fair to conclude that Korean Internet newspapers have totally ignored the Internet's potential to increase the civic journalism performance in online environments.

The objective of this study is to review diverse determinants of windowing in Korean drama such as rating, theme, type of drama, quantity of newsbreak and independent production. The after-market will be overseas market, domestic cable TV and emerging two revenue sources such as VOD and DVD. Korean dramas aired on free TV between 2000 and 2004 will be analysed by chi-square.

남한과 북한의 천문 R&D 이슈와 협력 방안에 대해 연구하였다. 지난 2015년 과기부 남북과학기술 및 학술협력사업 '남북한 천문분야 활성화 및 협력방안 연구'를 계기로 북한의 천문연구 현황, 천문관측장비, 인력, 발행물, 책자 등의 자료를 수집하고 정리하였다. 이 자료들은 통일부 북한자료센터와 한국과학기술정보연구원 NK Tech에서 소장한 데이터들, 북한출판사 발행 간행물, 중국국가천문대, 네덜란드 레이덴 대학에서 보유한 북한 천문 관련 자료, 조선중앙통신과 노동신문과 같은 북한 언론매체 기사, 미국, 캐나다, 독일의 언론에 소개된 기사, 그리고 인터넷을 통해 수집한 자료들이다. 이 자료들을 통해 북한의 천문연구 현황을 이해하고 R&D 이슈는 무엇인지 살펴보려 한다. 또한, 정부와 과학계에서 진행되고 있는 남북한 연구 협력 노력에 대해서도 논의하려 한다. 이를 통해 북한의 천문연구 현황을 이해하고 남북천문협력 방안에 대해서도 제안하려 한다.

With the drastic development of technology for almost eternally saving digital information, cases for giving sufferings to a person who deserves to enjoy privacy have increased. So I study the right to be forgotten focusing on the collision between that right and freedom of expression. I also study the concept of the right to be forgotten and its legal basis for the protection of that right. That right can be protected mainly by the self-decision making right under the Article 10, and secondly the privacy right under the Article 17 of the Constitutional Law. The Press Arbitration Law can be applied to protect the right to be forgotten, but that Law needs the revision of time-limit clause for complain, protection clause for the right to ask to delete factual past article, and the clause of staleness doctrine for the consent of giving personal information.

With the expansion of digital media platform, there has been a new conceptualization about public function of public broadcasting in and around European countries. Although there are differences between countries, Universal Access including smart and Internet media has been emphasized in Britain and France. However, there is lack of public discussion on service strategy of Internet and smart media platform when public function of public broadcasting is discussed. Therefore, this study tried to investigate not only the public function of public broadcasting in the field of Internet and smart media through audience research but also how the national public broadcasting stations ensure public interest and competitiveness in the field of Internet and smart media platform. The results suggested that smart phone users evaluated real-time broadcasting and VOD are the most important services among the public functions which public broadcasting stations have to persue. Futhermore, the users showed high intension to use when the free real-time broadcasting service is offered. Therefore, public broadcasting stations have to improve the social recognition on necessity and public interest of public broadcasting stations through the free real-time broadcasting services on Internet and smart media platform. And policies which can ensure competitiveness in the era of digital media are needed to become important broadcasting institute.

Media convergence is prevalent all over the world, and is expected to change our lives dramatically in near future. Chaos theory is a new emerging theoretical approach to various social phenomena including organization management, economic system, stock market fluctuation, and so on. This thesis is intended to explain media convergence phenomena centered on internet media using basic concepts of chaos theory such as self-organization, co-evolution, and feedback loop. The implications of this tentative study are that we can apply chaos theory to media convergence as other social or natural phenomena, and that maintaining chaos state of media system is useful for accelerating creativities, and that developing media system as an organic system to cooperate with other relevant systems is helpful for promoting life qualities, and that establishing moral order or root value is desirable for implementing communicatopia.

This study explores the factor which effects user's viewing on online in the situation of increasing viewing via OTT. After analyzing how the amount of news coverage and viewing rate affects user's active viewing, higher the number of views, In case of groundwave programs, if number of news coverage is high, hits of view and the number of comments is also high. While viewing rate, the number of views, the number of comments are independent of each other. In case of TV channels of comprehensive programming and cable TV, there is a interaction effect of viewing rate and the amount of news coverage. This study highlights the importance of the amount of news coverage when viewers is watching video on web.

미국에서 이루어진 인터넷 중독 현상에 대한 초기 연구는 인터넷 중독을 알코올중독과 같은 개인의 정신적 질병으로 간주하는 의사들에 의해 주도되었다. 그러나 사회현상으로서 인터넷 중독에 대한 사회과학자들의 관심이 증대되면서 인터넷 중독의 원인을 밝히는 본격적인 연구가 이루어진다. 인터넷 이용과 초고속 인터넷 망 보급속도에서 세계최고 수준을 자랑하는 우리의 경우에도 인터넷 이용에 따른 많은 부정적인 현상들이 나타남으로써 사회적인 문제로 대두되고 있다. 이에 따라 인터넷 중독에 대한 일부 연구가 수행되었는데 이들 연구들은 인터넷 이용패턴과 이용동기를 개별적으로 분석하고 인터넷 중독정도를 측정하는 차원에 머물고 있다. 즉, 인터넷 중독의 원인을 분석하는 차원에 이르지 못하고 있다. 또한 대부분의 연구들이 10대 청소년을 연구대상으로 하고 있기 때문에 다른 연령층의 인터넷 이용특성을 파악하는 데 한계를 가지고 있다. 이 같은 현실 인식을 바탕으로 본 연구는 2000년에 발표된 한국전산원 통계수치에서 인터넷을 가장 많이 이용하는 집단으로 조사된 대학생들을 연구대상으로, (1) 이들의 인터넷 이용패턴과 이용동기를 밝히고 (2) 이들 변인들과 인터넷 중독과의 상호관련성을 분석하며 (3) 인터넷 중독의 정도와 중독요인을 조사하고 (4) 마지막으로 인터넷 이용이 다른 미디어 이용과 면대면 커뮤니케이션에 미치는 영향을 분석하고 있다. 본 연구의 자료는 2000년 5월 8일부터 19일까지 2주간에 걸쳐 서울시내 대학생들을 대상으로 강의시간에 설문지를 배포하고 응답자가 설문지에 답하는 방법을 통해 수집되었다. 수집된 556명의 설문지 가운데 유효한 512명의 설문지가 통계적인 방법을 통해 분석되었다. 설문지는 (1) 인터넷 이용패턴 (2) 인터넷 이용 동기 (3) 인터넷 의존도 (4) 인터넷 이용 이후 다른 미디어 이용정도 (5) 인터넷 이용 이후 면대면 커뮤니케이션 정도 (6) 인구통계학적 변인을 측정하는 질문 내용으로 구성되었다. 통계 분석 후 나타난 몇 가지 주요결과를 요약하면 아래와 같다. (1) 이용동기와 인터넷 이용과의 상호관련성 이용동기를 요인 분석한 결과, 6개의 이용동기가 나타났는데 오락이 가장 주요한 동기였으며 다음으로 교육/정보, 현실도피, 외로움, 쇼핑, 그리고 성적 만족 순으로 나타났다. 이용 동기들을 인터넷 이용시간과의 상호관련성을 통계 분석한 결과 기존 연구결과와 달리 성적 만족이 6가지 요인 가운데 가장 낮은 상호관련성을 보였다. 또한 이용동기 분석에서 두 번째 높게 나타난 교육/정보 역시 성적 만족 다음으로 낮은 상호관련성을 보여주었다. 이는 대학생들의 인터넷 이용이 10대들의 인터넷 이용형태와 상당히 다르다는 것을 보여주는 것으로 본 연구에서는 수행하지 못한 이 같은 결과가 나오게 된 이유를 밝히는 후속연구가 필요할 것으로 보인다. (2) 인터넷 이용동기와 인터넷 서비스와의 상호관련성 '오락은 게임, 토론그룹, 전자메일, 채팅과 상호관련을 가진 것으로 나타났으며, 교육/정보는 검색과 쇼핑, 현실도피는 게임과 토론그룹, 외로움은 토론그룹, 전자메일과 채팅, 쇼핑은 온라인 쇼핑과 상호관련성이 있는 것으로 분석되었다. 흥미로운 사실은 성적 만족과 관련해서 게임과 채팅은 긍정적인 상호관련을 가진 것으로 나타난 반면 전자메일 서비스 이용은 성적 만족과 부정적인 상호관련을 가진 것으로 분석되었다. 이는 대학생들이 지루하게 느끼거나 외로움을 느낄 때 전자메일을 주로 이용하지만 성적 만족을 위해 전자메일을 이용하지 않고 있다는 사실을 보여주는 것이다. (3) 인터넷 이용 이후 다른 미디어와 면대면 커뮤니케이션과의 관계 인터넷을 이용한 후 응답자들의 전통적인 미디어(텔레비전, 라디오, 신문, 잡지, 편지, 전화) 이용이 감소되었으며 친구, 가족, 이성친구와의 면대면 커뮤니케이션 역시 감소된 것으로 나타났는데 이 같은 감소가 인터넷 이용과 관련이 있는 것으로 나타났다. (4) 인터넷 중독 정도와 중독 요인 10대들을 대상으로 한 기존 연구에서 나타난 인터넷 중독 현상이 대학생 집단에서는 나타나지 않았다. 그러나 응답자의 28.5%가 중독집단으로 발전될 가능성을 가진 잠재적인 인터넷 의존자(Moderate Internet Dependent)로 조사되었다. 인터넷 중독을 설명하는 요인으로 이용동기 가운데 오락, 외로움과 현실도피가 주요 변인으로 나타났으며 인터넷 이용시간 역시 주요변인으로 분석되었다. 흥미 있는 결과는 선행연구에서 인터넷 중독과 밀접한 관련 있는 인터넷 서비스로 조사된 게임과 채팅이 주요변인으로 나타나지 않았다는 것이다. 또한 인터넷 이용동기와 이용시간과의 상호관련 조사 결과에서처럼 전자메일서비스는 인터넷 중독과 부정적인 관계가 있는 것으로 조사되었다.

This study tried to empirically explore which issues related to the social service agency for public(as below SSA), that is, social perceptions were formed, by using mess media related to the SSA. This study is meaningful in that it identifies the overall social perception and trend of SSA through public opinion. In order to extract media trend data, the search used the big data analysis system, Textom, to collect data from the representative portals Naver News and Daum News. The collected texts were 1,299 in 2020 and 1,410 in 2021, for a total of 2,709. As a result of the analysis, first, the most derived words in relation to the frequency of text appearance were 'SSA', 'establishment', and 'operation'. Second, as a result of the N-gram analysis, the pairs of words directly related to the SSA 'SSA and public', 'SSA and opening', 'SSA and launch', and 'SSA and Department Director', 'SSA and Staff', 'SSA and Caregiver' etc. Third, in the results of TF-IDF analysis and word network analysis, similar to the word occurrence frequency and N-gram results, 'establishment', 'operation', 'public', 'launch', 'provided', 'opened', ' 'Holding' and 'Care' were derived. Based on the above analysis results, it was suggested to strengthen the emergency care support group, to commercialize it in detail, and to stabilize jobs.
