  • A novel sensing system for standing and moving human body using PIR(pyroelectric infrared) sensor was development. The system consists of power supply, interface circuit of PIR sensor, small stepping motor, and digital control. The detecting principle for stop human body is detecting the human body when the stepping motor sticking the PIR sensor and the fresnel lens has rotated by 180 degree at six second and has stopped the motor for no detecting signal of human body. We developed control algorism for proposed the detection system. The experimentation shows that the detector system had detected length and angle were 6m and 30 degree against as standing and moving human body with $37^{\circ}C$.

  • In this paper, we propose a passive microwave sensor for detecting human body using microwave radiometer technologies. The proposed sensor detects human body by measuring the change of the received radiation power from fixed background object due to human body. A C-band microwave radiometer is designed and implemented. The received radiation power changes due to human body is measured by the C-band microwave radiometer, and the effectiveness of the proposed sensor is evaluated by the measurement result analysis.

  • Sensing module of standing and moving human body using shutter method was developed. The module consists of Fresnel lens, pyroelectric infrared (PIR) sensor, interface circuit of the PIR, micro control unit(MCU), and alarm light emitting diode(LED). The principle for standing human body is chopping the thermal of human body using camera shutter. The human sensing signal in MCU by algorithm of interrupt function is detected. By unifying an apparatus and print circuit board(PCB), the developed module can be replaced as commercial moving human body detector. Experiment results show that sensing distance is about 7.0m and sensing angles is about $110^{\circ}$ at room temperature. In these condition, sending ratio was 100% and the power dissipation of the module was 100mW.

  • This paper presents the design and implementation of the small size receiver to put a passive microwave sensor for human body detection to practical use. The requirements and specifications of the sensor receiver are drawn using the experimental data of human body detection by the existing sensor operated at 5.1 GHz. The small size sensor receiver to satisfy the drawn specifications is designed and implemented. The effectiveness of the fabricated sensor with small size receiver on human body detection is demonstrated experimentally in laboratory. The results show the sensor can detect human body to within 4 m distance from the antenna. The size and power consumption of the small size receiver are decreased to 60 % and 40 % compared to those of the existing receiver, respectively.

  • This study is about the development of a smart bed control system to be able to detect the human position and body signal on bed. The main control board in the bed control system consists of the human sensing part, motor driving part and MCU. Here, to increase the credibility to check the human presence on bed, the human sensing part is combined with the human position part by membrane sensor and the body-signal detecting part of EMFI sensor. Also, remotely connecting the two detected signal to the application program of the app mode makes it possible to monitor human information on bed. In this paper, the remote function monitoring of the on-bed human information by bluetooth communication will be abe to make it applicable to the technical prevention method of the bed fall and absence accident in hospital and care facilities.

  • This paper proposes a human movement detection system by a thermopile array sensor. In the system, the sensor is attached to the ceiling and it acquires spatial temperatures, which is called thermal distribution. The system obtains $4{\times}4$ pixels thermal distributions from the sensor. The distributions are analyzed to extract human movement. As the experimental result, the proposed system successfully detected human movements.

  • In this study, we propose a low-noise transceiver for 10GHz motion sensor. The transceiver presented here has a circuit(Hittite HMC908LC5) that is composed of a two way-$0^{\circ}$ power splitter(the 1:2 block) and a $90^{\circ}$ Hybrid. The noise reduction circuit utilizes an LNA followed by an image reject mixer which is driven by an LO buffer amplifier. A modeling and analysis have been pursued using CST MWS. A prototype sensor was manufactured to measure the performance and experimental results show that the proposed sensor is good enough to use for a accurate motion sensor.

  • In this paper, we proposed the context-aware system which can estimate the information on the objects and transmit video information by utilizing multi-sensors. The proposed system is to reduce the excessive video information from a system capturing videos outdoor. This system uses the human-detect sensor attached on the multi-sensor board and four ultrasonic sensor to measure the object's size and movement speed, to recognize the human body's information, and finally to send videos. In order to assess the performance of the context-aware system based on the multi sensor, a comparison has been made between video system and human-detect sensor. As a result, The body human-detect sensor had more reliable images and transmitted information more effectively than when the images were sent by server without sensors attached.
