A Grading System of Word Processor Practical Skill Using HWPML (HWPML을 이용한 워드프로세서 실기 채점 시스템)

  • A grading system of practical word processor skills is designed and implemented by using HWPML(Hangul Word Processor Markup Language) which is a product of Hangul and Computer Co Ltd. By using HWPML, which is a markup tag structure of Hangul file, Hangul files can be edited in other application programs. Authorized users can make questions. However, only the manager is allowed to register answers to the questions in order to maintain the correctness of grading. The result of test is stored in the database and the statistics on pass or failure can be shown interactively. The number of taking test and scores for each user are stored in the database and they can be accessed to whenever the user wants them. Comments on the test results are provided by the manager so that learners can intensity their weak points.

  • In order to evaluate and improve the ability of Korean testing laboratories to measure Polybrominated diphenyl ethers in acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS), a proficiency test was organised by Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS) based on ISO/IEC 17043. The proficiency test material used was 10 g of a granular ABS fortified with a mixture of congeners of PBDE (BDE-154, 183, 206, 209). Homogeneity and stability were investigated to assess the adequacy of the test material. The certified value established by KRISS based on the national reference was used for assigned value of each PBDE. The test materials were distributed to the 16 participating laboratories. The participating laboratories were requested to analyse the samples employing the methods used in their routine analysis. Each laboratory was given it’s own code to secure the anonymity. Participants results were evaluated with z-scores according to ISO/IEC 17043. The standard deviation for proficiency assessment was set by standard deviation of the participants results except for outlier. The results, the laboratory's performance and improvement of accuracy were discussed.

A Study on an Analysis of Core Information Literacy Competencies for Information Literacy Instruction of Undergraduate Students in Design Discipline (디자인분야 대학생의 정보문해 교육을 위한 핵심 정보문해능력 분석에 관한 연구)

  • Design discipline requires more specialized and sophisticated information literacy competencies necessary to effectively find and apply the information that students need for their teaming and the future independent designer than are outlined in general information literacy competencies. Therefore, The goals of this study is to identify specific information literacy competencies within the Design Discipline. This research analyzed design-specific core information literacy competencies through the literature analysis on the design goals & curriculum of four domestic universities and the NASAD standards & guidelines and verified those by Delphi Survey. The result showed that design discipline requires commonly 26 specific core competencies in seven broad categories and the these competencies are related to the time for information literacy Instruction. Also, The result analyzed that such majors in design as product design, visual design, need additionally more specialized and detailed competencies with specific focus and that design discipline requires commonly the information literacy competencies about general studies & fundamental ability.

Engineering Educations for Creativity and Design in Mind at HIU (공학교육에서의 디자인 및 창의적 설계교육)

  • HIU(Hong-Ik University) has inculcated students with values necessary to serve society as independent, creative, and cooperative professionals. In HIU, students are encouraged to foster independent thinking, free from the influence of others, but are forged to cultivate their creativity in harmony with the knowledge and experience of others. In the department of MSDE(Mechanical and System Design Engineering), students are educated via three major courses for targeting engineering design, Creative Engineering Design (freshman), Design Process (Senior), and Creative Product Development (Junior). All these courses are based on personal tool exercises for design software and hardware and team-project group activities of the students with other team members. This paper will briefly discuss the main focuses of these courses and case studies of the teaching results.

  • The development in IT technology has brought about various services that are on offer based on a new service model. But such new services have increased security risks. The government is operating a program to foster experts in information security to protect assets from the threat of such risks, too. Society's awareness on the importance of information security has also grown, leading to various courses to train such personnel, including membership clubs for the fostering of such specialists. This study seeks to suggest a method that efficiently manages the convergence of running a curriculum on ISMS(information security management systems) and a club that focuses on information protection. Such converged information security courses are expected to contribute to a safer IT-based society.

Development of a Chem-E-Car curriculum model for Creative Engineering Education (창의적 공학교육을 위한 Chem-E-Car 강의안 개발)

  • The engineer's creativity is becoming more important as high value-added products are required. In this paper, a new curriculum model for creative engineering education has been developed. This study proposes the method of applying Chem-E-Car to the chemical engineering education for students to develop creativity. The Chem-E-Car is used as a given problem to students for developing safety study, teamwork, communication skill and creativity. The PBL(problem based Learning) is used in the class. The problem in this case is to make the Chem-E-Car, a shoebox sized car powered only by chemical reactions. Four types of Chem-E-Car such as turbine, rocket, voltaic cell and fuel cell are developed through out this program. The fuel cell powered Chem-E-Car is emphasized to students as new problems with constraints. This paper shows how the students solved the problems with creativity.

Development of web-based courseware for self-directed learning method at technology-home economics (기술$\cdot$가정과 자기 주도적 학습을 위한 웹 기반 코스웨어 개발)

  • This research demonstrated the efficiency, when compared to the textbook-based learning method, of developing web-based Courseware and utilizing it in the class so that students could study on their own the mobile parts of Technology-home economics. The contents are as follows: It is designed based on Namo Web Editor 5.1, in conjunction with Java script, PHP, Mysql, and so on. Procedures are as follows: First, students learn a small unit and then have a quiz. After logging in, they are tested on what they have learned. Finally, they send the result to the teacher by e-mail. To verify the results of this research, we make two groups. Each group has 34 students. One group are taught by using developed Courseware program, the other group are taught by present teaching program.The result shows the difference in achievement to the extent of significance P<0.05. In conclusion, it proved to be effective.

The Design of Remote Control System using Bluetooth Wireless Technology (블루투스 무선기술을 응용한 원격제어 시스템의 설계)

  • In this thesis, interference phenomena of bluetooth networks requiring Security were minimized; strengthened security of piconet by assigning an identical PIN code to bluetooth devices, which was establishing a specific piconet during authentication stage. To establish a bluetooth piconet system. an unique ID was assigned to each bluetooth device, communication algorithms having different data formats between devices was designed, and an embedded hardware module using ARM processor and uCOS-II RTOS was implemented. About 30% of CPU efficiency in the module was increased by modifying functions including block parameters to work as nonblocking; by the increased efficiency of total piconet, the module could be used as an access point. The module could transmit maximum 10 frames of image and also audio signal by switching the packet effectively according to channel condition. By above-mentioned process, video, audio, and data could be well transmitted by the bluetooth managing program and the possibility of a commercial remote control system using bluetooth technology was suggested.

A Gigabit Serial Transceiver Design Using FPGA for Satellite Communication Transponder (위성통신 중계기에서의 FPGA를 이용한 Gigabit 시리얼 송수신기 설계)

  • In this paper, we have proposed gigabit serial transceiver based on backplane architecture at the satellite communication digital transponder. The transponder supports the full combinational switching function with broadband multi-channel using programmable device - Xilinx space-grade Virtex-5 FPGA. In order to implement the switching function, GTX transceiver solution inside Virtex-5 FPGA is used. Also hardware implementation is simple because of no additional component. In order to use a GTX transceiver, signal integrity(SI) simulation of PCB design is essential. We investigate the characteristics of the S-parameter, eye diagram, channel jitter of GTX transmission line and conform that GTX Transceiver operates without error. Finally the proposed PCB design will be utilized at satellite communication digital transponder EQM-2(Engineering Qualification Model-2).

  • The process of charging an oxidizer in the liquid propellant rocket can divide into the cooling of the oxidizer tank, the high flow charge, the small flow charge, and the replenishment charge for the correction of temperature. The oxidizer of the Naro(KSLV-I) first stage uses the liquid oxygen. And the flow rate and the temperature specification corresponding to each charge mode are presented for the requirement. The flow throttling valve and heat exchanger are installed in the oxidizer filling system in order to satisfy this kind of the flow rate and temperature requirement specification. In this research, by using the Flowmaster which is a commercial one-dimension thermo-fluidic analysis program, one dimensional flow system analyses was performed to predict the exact flow rate at each specific mode. Also, the flow rate correction sensitivity of the flow control valves was analytically determined to satisfy the flow condition refinement at each mode within the limited certification test.
