Usefulness of Non-Invasive Measurement Tool on Performance Evaluation of Inverter Type X-ray Unit (인버터식 X선장치의 성능평가 시 비접속형 측정기의 유용성)

  • Purpose: As the demand of a simple and precise method increases to evaluate the performance of the inverter type x-ray unit, we evaluated the usefulness of the recently-introduced X-ray Multi-Function Test Device (moldel : Xi (unfors)-prestige). Method: We compared the performance of X-ray Multi-Function Test Device (XMFTD) which is non-inveasive type device with the performance of Dynalyzer III that has been most widely used inveasive type measure device. Result: X-ray output dose was increased a little in the XMFTD, but both devices were below the performance evaluation standard, 0.002 in the output reproducibility. Linearity of XMFTD were below 0.1 which means that Dynalyzer III showed more excellency in linearity. As the the accuracy of exposure factor, 1.8 and 2 tube voltage, 2.01 and 2.3 tube current were measured. The exposure time was also measured by 0.01 sec ${\pm}10%$. Both devices were within the acceptance of performance evaluatioin standard. Conclusion: We proved the usefulness of X-ray Multi-Function Test Device (model: Xi (unfors)-prestige) to evaluated the performance on reproductibility and linearity of X-ray output and accuracy of exposure factor of inverter type unit.

Evaluation and Experimental Production of Single-Phase Full-wave Rectification Type for X-ray Equipment of High Precision (고정밀도의 단상전파정류형 X선 장치의 제작 및 평가)

  • Diagnosis X-ray equipment localized at 1950's but it is developed suddenly at 1960's with demand together. Manufacture of Diagnostic X-ray equipment is controled by the KS regulation and the Ministry of Health and Welfare because of hazardous element etc. exposure by radiation. Most of diagnostic X-ray equipment ware single phase and three phase full-wave rectification but from 1980's it transforms it was exchanged in inverter type X-ray equipment. Inverter type X-ray equipment produces approximately 50~80% more average photon intensity then single phase full-wave rectification and the accuracy is high. But from a clinic it dose not use because expensive therefor the efficiency improvement of single phase full-wave rectification is necessary. We produced single phase full-wave rectification X-ray equipment control unit, high tension transformer, filament heating transformer, rectification circuit, high tension cable and others and evaluated efficiency, in result which is excellent compare with Rule of Safety Management and KS regulation.

Usefulness of inverter type REX-650 R/F X-ray equipments (REX-650 RF 인버터장치의 성능평가)

  • The conclusions after appraisal usefulness of korean 30 kHz inverter type X-ray equipments which are currently used in the clinics are like those followings. 1. The specific characters of mA, kVp, msec in the radiography keep very good accuracy and showed good waveform also under KS regulations. 2. The output of the X-ray equipment is showed 1.7 times higher than single-phase. 3. mA, kVp of the fluoroscopy and Sopt film exposure mA, kVp showed appropriated results under the regulations. 4. As we consider the conversion factor of image intensifier tube used for two years, it showed pretty high results, 310 at 75 kV, and knew that the conversion factor which followed by increasing kVp increased its computations like Kim's experimentation. Those X-ray equipment showed excellent results in the appraisal while those were operating so we think that those X-ray equipments will be substitute for expensive foreign equipment in korean domestic medical equipment in the future.

  • The medical treatment X-ray machineries used in diagnosis of the human body is possible to diagnosis inside of the human body with the method of noninvasive so that it has shared a very important role in diagnosis from the medical institution. High voltage occurrence system which is most important in occurrence of X-ray has mainly been used the existing type of high voltage transformer, however it has a low efficiency of X-ray occurrence since it is a big and heavy, and a high ripple ratio of the direct current high voltage come to the X-ray tube. In order to solve this problem, the research has been advanced about the high voltage power supply system, and the inverter type of the high voltage occurrence system which occurs a high voltage by increasing the power frequency from about ten times to about hundred times with the inverter has currently used mainly. Also, the operation of tube voltage and tube current was controlled by using PWM method and the operation results were identified using an oscilloscope.

  • In order to radiate X-ray, the low ripple stabilized high voltage DC over the range of 40KV to 150KV is directly inflicted to X-ray tube. The energy characteristics of the radiated X-ray depend on the pulsating waveforms of the DC voltage supplied X-ray tube. In general, the low ripple voltage waveforms with fast rising times are required to increase with the dosage per unit time lest the exposure time should be longer in orde that the motion artifacts of an object may be eliminated in actual. The conventional types of X-ray generators were bulky in physical size and heavy in weight, and the control accuracies of the output voltages were not always satisfactory. The high frequency switching inverter and converter technology on power conversion and control systems have been greatly closed up introducing new power semiconductor devices. To decreasing the volume and the weight of high voltage transformer, and to stabilize ripple, a high frequency PWM inverter is connected between DC source and high voltage transformer. This paper describes the output characteristics according to stabilize ripple of X-ray tube voltage and compared the reproducibility, direcibility and doesage.

  • This paper presents a 37.5kVA (125kVp, 300mA) high frequency inverter type power supply for diagonostic X-ray generator with two HFHV (high-frequency high-voltage) isolating transformers. The output regulations, X-ray tuve voltage and tube current, are obtained by two high frequency inverters with the each other feedback PI controller and operating time switch for selecting shooting time and synchronizing two inverters. The operating modes and design consideration of the proposed power supply are given. Issues in the design of two HFHV isolating transformersfors high volage genrating and filament heating are discussed. Experimental results are presented to verify the performance of the designed power supply for varying load conditions. The proposed apparatus has several advnatages, e.g., the fast rising time of tube voltae, accuracy and reduced component size etc.

  • Most X-ray generator had been used do rectifier type transformer high tension generator which is supplied in a clinical diagnosis. But it is difficult to miniaturize and become light weight. Also, because the ripple rate of tube voltage is high, X-ray generating efficiency is very low. Therefore, it is supplied gradually from abroad being developed high tension generator for inverter type X-ray generator which use semi-conductor switching element for electric power that have high speed switching ability to solved these problem. But, semi-conductor element of big capacity are used by X-ray tube's big consumption power and diffusion is difficult in the small size hospital because production cost is ascending by doing digital control through DSP and product price becomes expensive. Therefore, in this paper, design and manufactured CR type voltage divider for feedback control of tube voltage of high frequency resonance type inverter and high tension transformer for high frequency to apply economical diffusion type X-ray generator which have wide output voltage and load extent. It is Proved do X-ray generator and stability of X-ray tube's output characteristics through an experiment.
