The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between concepts on chemical reaction rates and concepts on chemical equilibrium in high school students. The subjects of the investigation consisted of 120 third grade students attending high school in K city of Kyunggi province. For this study, questionnaire relevant to the subject of chemical reaction rates and chemical equilibrium was developed and the answers were analyzed. As a result of the study, a large percentage of high school students answered questions on reaction rates correctly, but only a small percentage of the students could give explanations. Many high school students answered questions on the rates of forward reactions correctly, but not the questions on the rates of reverse reactions. For the concepts on chemical equilibrium, many high school students gave correct answers when faced with equilibrium questions that only required the understanding of one side of the reaction. But the students could not answer the questions requiring understanding of both forward and reverse reactions as well. Overall, there was a little high correlation between concepts on chemical reaction rates and concepts on chemical equilibrium in high school students. Especially, high school students with little understanding of reverse reaction rates did not understand that chemical equilibrium is a dynamic equilibrium. Also, high school students with little understanding of the collision mechanism regarding chemical reaction rates did not understand the effect of concentration and catalyst factors on chemical equilibrium. And the correlation between concepts on chemical reaction rates and concepts on chemical equilibrium related to concentration and catalyst factors was low. In conclusion, the formation of scientific concepts on chemical reactions rates can decrease misconceptions on chemical equilibrium. Also the teaching-learning method limited to one side of a reaction can cause difficulty in forming the concepts on chemical dynamic equilibrium. Therefore, the development of a teaching-learning method which covers both the forward and reverse reactions can be effective in helping students form the concepts on chemical equilibrium.

The purposes of this study were to examine effective variables influencing on adolescents' mobile phone addiction. The subjects were the 666 middle or high school students who had their own mobile phone in Gwangju. Data were analyzed with frequency, percentage, cronbach's ${\alpha}$, mean, SD, pearson's correlation and multiple regression using SPSS/PC WIN 14.0 program. The major findings were as follows: 1. The most frequently used function of student mobile phones was text message and they used text message more than 41 times a day. Mostly they were talking to the same sex friends on the phone and the monthly charges ranged from 20,000 to 30,000 won. In general, they called to their friends after school. Their parents' attitudes toward their mobile phone using showed that the most of their parents did not care about their children's mobile phone use. The restriction of using their mobile phone at school was normal. 2. The average scores of mobile phone addiction were lower than median(3.0) and self esteem, self control, family strengths, peer conformity and school life adaptation were higher than median. 3. The adolescence's mobile phone additions were influenced by peer conformity, school life adaptation, school levels, sex and self control. And these variables explained to the adolescence's mobile phone additions about 28%.
The purpose of this study was to offer information in order to induce and practice forming right oral health habit by grasping oral health practice according to subjective oral health interest and recognition in Academic Boys' High School students. Targeting students of Academic Boys' High School where is located in Jeollabuk-do from May 20, 2010 to June 20, the self-administered questionnaire survey was carried out by convenience sampling. The following are the results that the collected data was carried out statistical analysis by using SPSS 12.0 program. 1. Among factors of oral health practice according to oral health interest level, toothbrushing was the highest with 3.89 points. It was in order of education and interest with 3.18 points, diet control with 2.93 points, a regular visit with 2.69 points, and the practice of oral hygiene device with 2.12 points. 2. Among factors of oral health practice according to subjective oral health recognition level, toothbrushing was the highest with 3.89 points. It was in order of education and interest with 3.17 points, diet control with 2.93 points, a regular visit with 2.69 points, and the practice of oral hygiene device with 2.12 points. 3. In correlation between subjective oral health recognition level and oral health practice factor, the more recognition of being healthy in the subjective oral health recognition level led to the higher oral health practice level(p<0.01). 4. As for influence of oral health practice factor upon subjective oral health recognition level, the subjective oral health recognition was high in a group of practicing toothbrushing(p<0.01) and of visiting dental clinic regularly(p<0.05).

This study identified the relationship between academic stress and hopelessness among female high school students. The self-administered questionnaires were given to 334 female high school students located in D-city during the period from August 20, 2018 to September 20, 2018. As a result, the distribution of the level of hopelessness among those surveyed was 61.6% for the normal range group, 23.1% for the mild range group, 12.9% for the moderate range group, and 2.4% for the severe range group. The level of hopelessness, according to the academic stress of the study subjects, was significantly higher in the higher academic stress group than that in the lower academic stress group (p=0.000). Hopelessness also showed significant positive correlation with academic stress (r=0.371, p<0.01). The results of the logistic regression analysis showed that the risk ratio of hopelessness was significantly increased 9.27 times in the higher academic stress group when compared to that in the lower academic stress group. According to the multiple regression analysis, the significant variables affecting hopelessness were satisfaction with school life, conversation with parents, eating regularly, stress due to tests, stress due to studies and stress about career paths. Given the above results, the hopelessness of female high school students is significantly related to academic stress. Therefore, it is necessary to develop and implement programs that can properly control academic stress factors.

In this study, we investigated the characteristics of inquiry problems set by high school students who observed an 'unexpected phenomenon' and identified the effects of providing scientific information on setting inquiry problems. The subjects of this study were 126 eleventh grade students in Seoul that were randomly assigned to group A (N=66) and group B (N=60). In the study, watching a video of about 45 seconds of the unexpected phenomenon repeatedly for 20 minutes, all the students freely wrote inquiry problems that they wanted to carry out in their handouts. At this time, it is characterized that only the handout of group B additionally included scientific information on the unexpected phenomenon. As a result of the study, students, regardless of group, set more 'curiosity-oriented inquiry problems (i.e., focusing on inquiries they want to do rather than revealing what might be the cause of the phenomenon)' rather than going into a 'cause-oriented inquiry problem solving (i.e., revealing the cause of the phenomenon).' Among the curiosity-oriented inquiry problems, most of them were 'new-result inquiry problems (i.e., investigating what new results will occur by simply manipulating experimental situations).' It was also found that students who were provided with the scientific information tended to set significantly more inquiry problems using the provided information than those who were not (χ2(1)=8.996, p<.01), nevertheless the students with the scientific information did not set significantly more cause-oriented inquiry problems (χ2(1)=1.376, p>.05). The findings have been discussed from the four perspectives (i.e., lack of provided information, lack of opportunities to internalize the provided information, personal curiosity-seeking, and intuitive thinking), and implications for inquiry problem setting were suggested.

The purpose of this study was to investigate high school students' ideas related with dinosaur extinction, to classify students' responses types with alternative hypotheses of inconsistent with their ideas, and then to examine their cognitive conflict levels and the degree of ideas change. To investigate students' ideas, we analyzed responses 98 eleventh graders of a high school in Anyang area. The results of this study were as follows: First, most of the students responded a large scale asteroid impact with the cause of dinosaur extinction, and rest of them responded changed Earth's climate accompanying tectonic activity, extreme volcanic activity, shortage of food, disease(virus) and decrease of their habitat. Also, they thought that dinosaur was exterminated not by just one reason but by several complex reasons. Second, the students' responses of alternative hypotheses were classified into six types: rejection, reinterpretation, uncertainty, belief decrease, partial theory change, and theory change. Third, except rejection and reinterpretation types, other four types were arousing of cognitive conflict and the percentage of the students who felt cognitive conflict was 62.3% and that of the students who took the theory change was just 6.1 %.
This study is to investigate the perceptions of high school teachers on the evaluation criteria of the college admission officer interview system and to suggest approaches to improve the interview system. The survey results of teachers' perceptions are the following. First, for 'potential' criteria, teachers consider challenging spirit and students' initiatives are important evaluation criteria. For 'personality' criteria, they contemplate that responsibility, community spirit and flexibility to resolve conflicts are important values. Further, views of life and creativity also need to be seriously considered in the screening process. Second, their satisfaction with the college admission officer system was relatively high (9.34 points). Last, in order to improve the interview screening system, teachers assert that the process to secure fairness is required. Based on the results, suggestions were made for ensuring expertise of college admission officer and improving the alternative policy of the admission officer interview system.
In this study, we designed and constructed a very low-cost electronic board in order to test its efficiency in the classroom as well as provide an easy-to-follow model for front-line teachers to re-create and utilize for their own academic use. For our sample size, we tested 143 high school first grade students. In mathematical achievement, we found meaningful improvement in both genders but we did not find any meaningful gender differences. In the mathematical disposition test, we also found some meaningful changes in curiosity and flexibility in both genders but did not find any meaningful gender differences either. Based on this study, we propose using our low-cost electronic board system, which is easy to make and effective in mathematical achievement, instead of recently promoted high-cost electronic board systems.
To study between the anthropometric conditions and personality factors of high school girl students, a simple questionaires and personality test were administrated to 385 high school girl students on the First and Second graders in Taegu city. Students surveyed were divided into 3 groups by using BMI : they are 131 thin group, 157 normal group, and 97 obese group. The results were summarized as following. They recognized exactly about obese status of themselves(p<0.001). The rate in obese group was more than in thin group for question' don't like snacks' but there was not significant relationship statistically. The number in obese group was lesser than thin group for sancks before sleeping, and there was significant relationship statistcally(p<0.05). About sports, obese group had more favorite than thin group, and there was also significant relationship statistically(p<0.05). The rate of Mothers' occupation in the obese group was higher than in the thin group, but there was no significant relationship statistically. In personality test, obese group had stronger dominance, which showed significant relationship(p<0.01) and concerning reflectiveness thin group, which was of great use(p<0.05). In other 7 categories, there was no signficant relationship statistically among those 3 groups.
