  • By combining the role of current GIS technology and design behaviors from the cognitive perspective, spatial conceptualization can be extended efficiently and creatively for ill-structured problems. This study elaborates the model of a conceptualization-oriented SDSS(Spatial Decision Support System) for a landscape design problem. Current information-oriented GIS technology plays a minor role in planning and design. The three attributes in planning and design problems describe how the deficiencies of current GIS technology can be seen as a failure of the technology. These are summarized: (1) Information Explosion/Information Ignorance (2) Dilemma of Rigor and Relevance (3) Ill-structured Nature of planning and Design. In order to implement the conceptualization idea in the current GIS environment, it will be necessary to shift from traditional, information-oriented GISs to conceptualization-oriented SDSSs. The conceptualization-oriented SDSS model reflects the key elements of six important theories and techniques. The six useful theories and techniques are as follows; (1) Human Information Processing (2) Tool/Theory Interaction (3) The Sciences of the Artificial and Epistemology of Practice (4) Decision Support Systems (DSSs) (5) Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) (6) Creative Thinking. The future conceptualization-oriented SDSS can provide capabilities for planners and designers to figure out some "hidden organizations" in spatial planning and design, and develop new ideas through its conceptualization capability. The facilitation of conceptualization has been demonstrated by presenting three key ideas for the framework of the SDSS model: (1) bubble-oriented design support system (2) prototypes as an extension of semantic memory, and (3) scripts as an extension of episodic memory in a cognitive pschology perspective. The three ideas can provide a direction for the future GIS technology in planning and design.

  • Among many design processes such as learning, storing, retrieving and applying, the process that learns design knowledge is very important for producing creative results that solve design purposes in design computations. The computer should have the ability similar to human in learning design knowledge. It should recognize not only physical properties but also high level design knowledge constructed from the first level physical properties. The high level design knowledge are recognised in terms of isometric translation relationships. This paper explains properties of isometric translation and methods how the computer can recognize high level shape design knowledge using shape pattern representation.

  • The traditional methodology of Korean regional studies had been shifted by geographic thoughts and philosophy as follows; Environmentalism or Environmental determinism stemming from geomancy were dominant methodology in the Korea era. An idiographic approach was introduced based on the encyclopedic description of geographic factors of villages for the centeralization of power in the Chosun era. A systematic geography that pursues scientific laws of regional differences which results from the interactions of human and nature had emerged through field works of some practical school in the later Chosun era.

  • Light is a critical element for people to live and do creative activities in residential buildings. Especially, light in the dim)ing room is the most important factor for psychological and emotional effects but people are living under the poor light environment. Most people even are not well aware of good lighting environment. Also, the domestic lighting designers just follow the Korean Standards illuminance but it isn't appropriated for our cultural and social sides. This study investigated illuminance and color temperature of dining tables, and also analyzed the results of those in actual residential buildings.

  • This study examines the changes of the online music market and revenue models by the theory of network society and communications of Manuel Castells for the content platform. As a result of this study, we found that active communications among the members in the network, played a crucial role in the creation of contents and the promotions of profit for platform providers. It is especially important to create an environment in which members can voluntarily communicate rather than an artificial control. The content platform business consists of people, thus it has been proven that providing play elements of culture and society are important, as well as necessary conditions to the generation related to content based platform businesses.

  • This study interpreted film-creators' information behavior by reconstructing information behavior in the process of film-planning using human information behavior. Film creators exchange, collect, and analyze information through channels in the information environment so called "the small world." After these processes, they strategically express this information by creating a film. This study concludes that the purpose of film-creating activity and that of everyday life information seeking are intertwined and that co-communication is the most important information channel and information source.

  • This essay interpreted and analyzed 3 Bonpuri (shamanic rituals) of Jeju Island from Jungian perspectives. These rituals (Chokong, Euigong, and Samgong Bonpuri) includes myths about gods who have both anthropomorphic and supreme aspects. 3 myths showed significant psychological motifs such as hieros gamos, parental complex, ethics, numinose, creativity, and return to the origin. Compared to other religious worshipping ceremony such as shamanism in North America, sufism, and tantraism, similar psychological motifs are discussed. Understanding and amplifying the psychological symbols and process related these motifs may help analysis to be more meaningful and revivifying the human psyche especially in distress and sadness.

  • Humans are created as spiritual beings that can relate to God. However, when a human spirit refuses to transform through confronting God, it experiences a crisis. A spiritual crisis results from disconnecting with God, who is the ultimate foundation, but we humans try to overcome such absence through accomplishments and efforts. In this technological age, the ethics issues of AI (Artificial Intelligence), robots, and cloning are related to anthropology. The development of the mind, heart, and logic cannot suggest a basis for destruction and confusion as much as the development of the world. In fact, education focused on the human mind cannot be considered holistic. Mind, together with thought, will, and belief, plays a crucial role in making choices and leading a human life. So it is actively studied in other domains other than Christian education. However, although the human spirit takes care of some territory of humanity, unlike the mind, it can neither be partial nor fragmentary. Instead, it manages the transformation that influences the core of human life. Therefore, Christian education must clearly concentrate on the spirit rather than on other human elements, intentionally concerning spiritual transformation through encounters with God. In other words, Christian education is the passage connecting a human spirit to God's presence at work, which enables us to understand the human being as a whole. For this, we must put our efforts to increase the chances of encountering God through Christian education. While "Encounter" requires both parties' interaction, "Transformation" stresses God as the main agent and His proactive nature. I also want to emphasize "worship" as the opportunity to communicate and experience God in our daily lives. By examining the preparation and the process of the spiritual transformation of humans, this paper would offer a theological foundation for continued transformation of the human spirit in the faith community, rather than personal experience or conviction.

  • It is well known that Nietzsche insists on the affirmation of life, and the subject of 'affirmation of life' is a familiar one in Nietzsche literature. We want to throw an unfamiliar light on this familiar subject, connecting the theme of affirmation with that of redemption, and insisting on the centrality of the theme of redemption in Zarathustra's teaching of ${\ddot{U}}bermensch$. For Nietzsche, the redemption of human life means that its life is endowed with some meaning and its existence is positively justified. With this redemption, an active affirmation of life is possible, which means that we not only endure this life once but also request it for indefinite times. According to Nietzsche, for this kind of redemption and active affirmation we need an ultimate ground of meaning and only the excellence of life, that is, of 'will to power' can serve as this ultimate ground. Accepting the Greek way of identifying virtue with excellence, Nietzsche thought that life can justify itself at the ultimate form of life in ${\ddot{U}}bermensch$. Then, through ${\ddot{U}}bermensch$ the way is opened for man to endow meanings on and justify its life. That is, ${\ddot{U}}bermensch$ is not only the one who affirms its life, but also the very condition in which humanity can justify its life in general. With the goal and ideal of ${\ddot{U}}bermensch$ accepted, the affirmation and redemption of an individual life depends on how it manages to create its own life in relation to this goal and ideal. According to Nietzsche, though we cannot go back to the past, we still can recreate it and change its meanings through working on the future. Only those who try to create a meaningful future and thus recreate the past could redeem and affirm their own lives. That is, for Nietzsche, to affirm and redeem one's life means not just to change one's attitude to life but to create and recreate it with the eye for ${\ddot{U}}bermensch$.
