GMPLS based Functional Models and Connection Admission Control Algorithms for Optical Burst Switched Networks (광 버스트 교환 망을 위한 GMPLS 기반 기능 모델과 연결 수락 제어 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, we propose the functional models of optical burst switching (OBS) routers to apply GMPLS (Generalized Multiprotocol Label Switching) to optical networks based on OBS. In addition, we introduce a connection admission control (CAC) algorithms which are operated in this models and can accommodate the required QoS. Firstly, the characteristics of current GMPLS and OBS for the optical Internet are basically considered. With this consideration, the models are proposed to accept OBS features which include the recognition of data boundary with control information and the statistical multiplexing in terms of bursts. Secondly, we use an offset time decision (OTD) algorithm on behalf of controlling the connection admission with taking QoS parameters such as burst loss rate(BLR) and service-differentiation ratio(SDR) into consideration. The proposed CAC algorithms use the offered load of LSP (Label Switched Path), wavelength information, and QoS parameters as inputs of OTD algorithm. A call setup request will be accepted when the offset time decided by OTD algorithm is reasonable for guaranteeing its requested QoS. Simulation is used for performance evaluation. Results show the proposed schemes can guarantee the required QoS and those are better than the previous one in terms of channel utilization.

  • In order to provide the real time and proper information to the pedestrian who is using the transport connection and transfer center through data collecting and processing process, the design of the test-bed (Gimpo airport)'s communication construction and the technology of the pedestrian location tracking has been researched. The design of the communication construction should make sure that it can provide believable data to the user of the transfer center. At the same time, the location tracking should also be considered, so that the require of the communication efficiency and the location tracking efficiency can be met together. In order to make the efficient location tracking technology, the problems related to the commercial technology based real time location identification will be resolved and the new approach method was proposed and be applied and analysed to the test-bed. The wireless access points can be located in the most real-world situation which has added the characteristics of the real building to the electronic map, and through the analysis of theirs location, they can be set as the mainly necessary points for the communication construction design and the location tracking and the method to locate that points has been proposed. How to set, how to apply it to the test-bed and the examination result will be introduced in this paper.

Design and fabrication of GaAs MMIC high power amplfier and microstrip combiner for IMT-2000 handset (IMT-2000 고출력 전력전폭기의 GaAs MMIC화 및 전송결합기 설계 구현에 관한 연구)

  • 본 고에서는 한국통신(Korea Telecom) IMT-2000 시험시스템(이하: Trial system 라고 함) 단말기용 전력증폭단으로 적용하기 위한 다단구동증폭기 및 전력증폭기를 GaAs MMIC로 설계 구현하는 기술을 제시하였다. 설계된 구동증폭기는 3단으로구성하여 RF(Radia Frequency) 송신신호(1955$\pm$70MHz)대역에서 2단 (중간단)의 이득 조정범위가 40 dB이상이 될 수 있도록 능동부품인 MESFET를 Cascade 형으로 구성하고 MESFET의 게이트(gate)에 조정전압을 인가하는 증폭기를 설계하여 GaAs MMIC화 1 침(크기4$\times$5 mm)으로 제작하였다. 아울러, 본 논문에서는 제시한 구동증폭기는 동작주파수 대역폭 범위기 3.5배이고 출력전력은 15dBmm 이며, 출력전력이득이 25~27dB이고 반사계수는 -15~20dB이며 이득평탄도 3dB(동작주파수 대역폭내)로써 Trial system용 단말기의 최종단인 전력증폭단의 출력단 특성을 효과적으로 나타내었다. 그리고, 전력 증폭기는 2개의 입력단에서 출력되는 신호를 분배하는 전력분배기와 병렬구조인 4개의 증폭단에서 출력되는 출력신호를 외부에서 접속하는 전력결합기를 접소하여 구성하였으며 RF(Radio Frequency) 주파수(1955 $\pm$70NHz)에서 대역폭을 4배로 설계하여 광대역인 대역폭을 구현하였고 출력전력은 570mW이며, 출력부가효율(PAE; Power Added Efficency)가 -15$\pm$20dB이고, 이득 평탄도(Gain flatness)는 동작주파수 대역내에서 0.5dB이며 입출력 전압정재파비(Input & Output VSWR)가 13이하인 고출력 전력증포기를 GaAs MMIC화 1칩 (크기; 3$\times$4mm)으로 제작하였다.의 다양성이나 편리성으로 변화하는 것이 국적을 바꾸는 것보다 어려운 시 대가 멀지 않은 미래에 도래할 것이다. 신세기 통신 과 SK 텔레콤에는 현재 1,300만명이 넘 는 고객이 있으며. 이들 고객은 어 이상 음성통화 중심의 이동전화 고객이 아니라 신세기 통신과 SK텔레콤이 함께 구축해 나갈 거대란 무선 네트워크 사회에서 정보화 시대를 살아 갈 회원들이다. '컨텐츠의 시대'가 개막되는 것이며, 신세기통신과 SK텔레콤은 선의의 경쟁 과 협력을 통해 이동인터넷 서비스의 컨텐츠를 개발해 나가게 될 것이다. 3배가 높았다. 효소 활성에 필수적인 물의 양에 따른 DIAION WA30의 라세미화 효율에 관하여 실험한 결과, 물의 양이 증가할수록 그 효율은 감소하였다. DIAION WA30을 라세미화 촉매로 사용하여 아이소옥탄 내에서 라세믹 나프록센 2,2,2-트리플로로에틸 씨오에스터의 효소적 DKR 반응을 수행해 보았다. 그 결과 DIAION WA30을 사용하지 않은 경우에 비해 반응 전환율과 생성물의 광학 순도는 급격히 향상되었다. 전통적 광학분할 반응의 최대 50%라는 전환율의 제한이 본 연구에서 찾은 DIAION WA30을 첨가함으로써 성공적으로 극복되었다. 또한 고체 염기촉매인 DIAION WA30의 사용은 라세미화 촉매의 회수 및 재사용이 가능하게 해준다.해준다.다.   • Broadband powerline communication (BPLC) uses distribution lines as a medium for achieving effective bidirectional data communication along with electric current flow. As the material characteristics of power lines are not good at the communication channel, the development of power line communication (PLC) systems for internet, voice, and data services requires measurement-based models of the transfer characteristics of the network suitable for performance analysis by simulation. In this paper, an analytic model describing a complex transfer function is presented to obtain the attenuation and path parameters for a multipath power line model. The calculated results demonstrated frequency-selective fading in multipath channels and signal attenuation with frequency, and were in good agreement with the experimental results. Inductive coupling units are used as couplers for coupling the signal to the power line to avoid physical connections to the distribution line. The inductance of the ferrite core, which depends on the frequency, determines the cut-off frequency of the inductive coupler. Coupling loss can be minimized by increasing the number of windings around the coupler. Coupling efficiency was improved by more than 6 dB with three windings compared to the results obtained with one winding.

  • Put Safety-critical systems related to the railway communications are currently undergoing changes. Mechanical and electro-mechanical devices are being replaced by programmable electronics that are often controlled remotely via communication networks. Therefore designers and operators now not only have to contend with component failures and user errors, but also with the possibility that malicious entities are seeking to disrupt the services provided by theirs systems. Recognizing the safety-critical nature of the types of communications required in rail control operations, the communications infrastructure will be required to meet a number of safety requirements such as system faults, user errors and the robustness in the presence of malicious attackers who are willing to take determined action to interfere in the correct operation of a system. This paper discusses the safety strategies employed in the railway communications and proposes a security mechanism for Korean railway communication system. We present the developed communication safety evaluation tool based on the proposed security mechanism and also evaluate its protecting capability against the threats of masquerading, eavesdropping, and unauthorized message manipulation.

  • Along with the recent increase in national income, social phenomena such as aging due to a decrease in population and an increase in single households are observed. There are also an increasing number of households raising pets in proportion to aging households and the increase in the number of single households, most of which use animal companions to overcome loneliness and boost domestic vitality. As more and more people consider pets as family members, the size of the domestic pet market is also growing. The growing number of pets in older households and single households is not properly managed by care such as food meals and exercise management for pets. It is necessary to research and develop robots that can monitor animal companions remotely, feed a certain amount of food at regular intervals, and manage their health through exercise. Among pet companions, dog selection is the highest. Therefore, this study identified robot research on driving methods, examples of existing pet care systems, and researched pet care robots using obstacle avoidance algorithms. In order to use the snack pay behavior and obstacle avoidance algorithm of the pet animals by applying IoT and we .oPI technology, it is able to use ultrasonic sensors on the front and has four infrared sensors on the back. However, this study does not reflect the characteristics of other pet animals as a study on pet care robots, and it requires continuous observation and testing.

  • As a means of helping ships navigate safely, navigational aids in operation in the maritime envirionment require periodic management, and due to the nature of the environment, it is difficult to visually check the exact state. As a result, the smart navigation aid system, which improves route safety and operational efficiency, utillizes expertise including sensors, communications, and information technology, unlike general route markings. The communication environment of the smart navigation aid system, which aims to ensure the safety of the navigators operating the ship and the safety of the ship, uses a wireless communication network in accordance with the marine environment. The ship collects the information necessary for the maritime environment on the land and operates. In this process, there is a need to consider the wireless communication security guideline. Basically, based on IHO S-100 a standard for facilitating data exchange and SECOM, which provides an interface for safe communication. This paper research a security system for safe communication in a maritime environment. The security system for the basic interface based on the document was presented, and there were some vulnerabillties to data exchange due to the wireless communication characteristics of the maritime environment, and the user authetication part was added considering the vulnerability that unauthorized users can access the service.

Analysis of the Characteristics of Container Ports in Busan Port Using Industrial Organization Approach (산업조직론을 활용한 부산항 컨테이너 하역산업의 특성 분석)

  • In order for the users (shipping firms and shippers) and suppliers (stevedoring firms) in the container terminal industry to win-win, it is necessary to have some appropriate diverse market conditions for the industry. This study analyses the basic conditions and demand and supply characteristics of the industry and investigates the market performance of Busan container ports. First, this article analyses the basic characteristics of demand and supply. As the demand characteristics, there are five ones such as 1) exogeneity of demand, 2) function as export/import transportation and hub for transshipment, 3) increase of users' bargaining power, 4) high substituting elasticity, 5) reduction of volume growth. As the supply characteristics, there are seven ones such as 1) inelasticity of supply, 2) homogeneity of stevedoring services, 3) over-supply, 4) adoption of cutting-edge stevedoring technology, 5) scale economy and impossibility of storage, 6) labor market rigidity, 7) enhancing port's role in SCM. In addition, this study conducts the so-called structure-conduct-performance analysis. For the structure analysis, 1) lacks of scale economy in stevedoring companies, 2) high entry barrier, 3) strengthening of shipping firms' bargaining power, 4) transitory permission scheme for tariff are analyzed. For the conduct analysis, 1) price discrimination between export/import and transshipment, 2) mid-term length of terminal use contract, 3) continuous investment in equipment, 4) low level of cooperation among terminal operating firms are derived. For the performance analysis, 1) inequality in profitability, 2) reduction of export/import cost, 3) delay in adopting cutting-edge technology, 4) idle equipment are analyzed. Following this logical flow, the hypothesis that the market structure influences the market conduct is tested based on the actual dataset. As a future agenda in the conclusion, this article recommends the so-called port industrial policy.

International Legal Regulation on Commercial Space Activity (상업적 우주활동의 국제법적 규제)

  • While in the early stages of space activities only a few states engaged in the use of outer space, as is well known, commercial space activities have grown dramatically in recent years. Both states, state institutions, and international governmental organizations as well as many private enterprises are engaged in such commercial use of outer space by now. This development is not reflected in the present state of space law. The existing international instruments of space law were developed and finalized before this development and thus only provide very few and sometimes unfitting provisions for the commercial use of outer space and particularly the use by private enterprises. Law formulated in an era when the word "privatization" had not even been coined cannot contain potential problems caused by the increasing commercialization of outer space. For the promotion and further development of such commercial use of outer space it is necessary to clarify and establish the legal framework for such use, because participants will need this information for their future investments in this field. The purpose of this paper is to research and make an analysis of the contents and international regulation of international space commerce, which is rapidly proliferating and to review the process of improvement on national legislations relating to the commercialization of outer space in a few main space advanced countries to make the sustainable progress of commercial space activities project in international society. The legal implications of matters such as international commercial launch services, the liability aspects of such services, intellectual property rights, insurance, product liability insurance and materials processing could one day will be subject to regulated by international space law as well as domestic law. In fact, the question of commercialization is linked to the question of sharing benefits of space activities, and this currently is an agenda item in the Legal Subcommittee of UN COPUOS. Most of developed countries have enacted the national legislation for commercial space activities relating to the development of our space as follows : The National Aeronautic and Space Act of 1958 and the Commercial Space Act of 1998 in the United States, Outer Space Act of 1986 in England, Establishment Act of National Space Center of 1961 in France, Canadian Space Agency Act of 1990 in Canada, Space Basic Act of 2008 in Japan, and Law on Space Activity of 1993 in Russia. Becides there are currently three national legislations relating to space development and commercial space activities in Korea as follows : Aerospace Industry Development Promotion Act of 1987, Outer Space Development Promotion Act of 2005, Outer Space Damage Compensation Act of 2008. Commercial space great promise for the utilization and expansion of human outer space activities but aspring commercial actors must recognize that foreign policy, as well as obligations to the international community as a whole, ensure that commercial space activities will not operate in a legal and regulatory vacuum. As commercial space matures the law and accompanying regulation will most certainly evolve and choose to become participants in the inevitable evolution of law and regulation.
