  • We consider cooperative opportunistic beamforming that can mitigate the other cell interference (OCI) in correlated multi-user multiple-input single-output (MISO) cellular environments. By only exploiting the spatial channel information of adjacent cells, the proposed scheme generates the cooperative random beam that statistically avoids the OCI from adjacent cells. Each cell selects a user in an opportunistic manner. Thus, the proposed scheme can simultaneously achieve the multi-user diversity (MUD) gain and the OCI avoidance gain.

  • As a muscular contraction is sustained, the power spectrum of the myoelectric signal is compressed into lower frequencies. The median frequency appears to be the prefered parameters to monitor this compression. This paper describes a technique and a device which provide an estimate of the median frequency using a TMS32020 DSP chip and IBM PC for tracking of this parameter. Results obtained from myoelectric signal are presented and discussed.

  • Ultrasonic inspection system is consisted of the operator, equipment and procedure. The reliability of results in ultrasonic inspection is affected by its ability. Furthermore, the reliability of nondestructive testing is influenced by the inspection environment, other materials and types of defect. Therefore, it is very difficult to estimate the reliability of NDT due to various factors. In this study, the probability of detection, used logistic probability model and Monte Carlo simulation, estimated the reliability of ultrasonic inspection. The utility of the NDT reliability assesment is verified by the analysis of the data from round robin test applied these models.

  • The performance demonstration round robin test was conducted to quantify the capability of ultrasonic inspection for in-service and to address some aspects of reliability for nondestructive evaluation. The fifteen inspection teams who employed procedures that met or exceeded ASME Sec. XI code requirements detected the pinping of nuclear power plant with various cracks to evaluate the capability of detection. With data from PD-RR test, the performance of ultrasonic nondestructive inspection could be assessed using probability of detection and length and depth sizing of cracks.

  • A 10-year-old boy with a history of epileptic seizure for 3 years, showed ataxia and left side weakness. In Brain MRI, hemiatrophy of the right hemisphere was noted. So we considered that he had a cerebral hemiatrophy caused by continued epileptic seizure and treated him with herbal medicine, acupuncture and physical therapy. We report a case of a 10-year-old boy who showed symptoms of a cerebral hemiatrophy caused by maintained epileptic seizure.

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report a pediatric patient with Ramsay Hunt syndrome and sinusitis Methods : The patient was treated by acupuncture, electroacupuncture, moxa, herb medicine, vesiculation therapy, massage, cupping boil, and taping. We recorded his degree of progression by House-Brackmann scale and Yanagihara's scale. Results and Conclusions : His facial palsy had been improved from 4(Lt.)score to 20(Lt.)score based on Yanagihara's scale, but House-Brackmann scale had not been changed.

  • In this paper, we have studied the role of sources gases, SiH$_4$, NH$_3$ and $N_2$, to produce Si-N and Si-H bond in PECVD. The correlations of a deposition rate, a refractive index and a permitivity were investigated with the NH$_3$ flow rate of 6, 9 and 12 sccm, and SiH$_4$ flow rate of 20, 30 and 40 sccm, and substrate temperature of 150, 250 and 35$0^{\circ}C$. But the $N_2$ flow rate and chamber pressure were fixed at 55 sccm and 700mTorr. And then MIM capacitors were fabricated and tested for MMIC applications.

  • We have developed fabrication processes that form a wide-head T-gate with a 0.2 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ gate length using the combination of thickness of each PMMA layer, line doses and development times for applications in millimeter- and micro-waves monolithic integrated circuits. The three-layer resist structure (PMMA/P(MMA-MAA)/PMMA = 1800 $\AA$/5800 A/1900$\AA$), 4nC/cm and over development were used for fabrication of a wide-head T-gate by the conventional double E-beam exposure technology. The experimented results show that the cross sectional area of T-gate fabricated by the proposed method is easily enlarged without additional processes.

  • 폰탄술식 후 수술사망률이 감소하고 생존자가 증가함에 따라 대정맥-폐동맥 순환의 부자연스러운 생리와 관련된 합병증이 발생하게 되었다. 이러한 혈역학적인 문제로 인하여 발생한 합병증 중의 하나가 단백소모성 장질환이다. 단백소모성 장질환은 폰탄술식 후에 발생하는 드물지만 매우 위험한 합병증이다. 많은 다른 치료경향이 제안되었지만 성공적인 치료보고는 제한되어 있다. 폰탄술식후 단백소모성 장질환이 발생한 3명의 환아에서 완전 대정맥-폐동맥 연결로 전환을 시행하였다. 완전 대정맥 폐동맥 연결로 전환함이 만족할 만한 치료방법임을 보고하는 바이다.

Robust Control of Trajectory Tracking for Hydraulic Excavator (유압 굴삭기의 궤적 추종을 위한 강인 제어)

  • This paper studies the coordinated trajectory control of an excavator as a kind of robotic manipulators driven by hydraulic actuators. Hydraulic robot system has many non-linearity in dynamics and kinematics, and strong coupling among joints(or hydraulic cylinders). This paper proposes a combined controller frame of the adaptive robust control(ARC) and the sliding mode control(SMC) for the trajectory tracking control of the excavator to preserve the advantages of the both methods while overcoming their drawbacks, namely, asymptotic stability of adaptive system for parametric uncertainties and guaranteed transient performance of sliding mode control for both parametric uncertainties and external disturbance. The suggested control technique is applied for the tracking of a straight-line motion of end-effector of manipulators, and through computer simulations, its trajectory tracking performances and the robustness to payload variation and uncertainties are illustrated.
