The subjects include total 185 nurses that consisted of 93 nurses at the comprehensive nursing care service ward and 92 at the General Ward. Results of this study are as follows; The study analyzed correlations among the job stress, job satisfaction, emotional labor, and turnover intention of nurses at the comprehensive nursing care service and general wards and found that both the groups showed significant positive correlations between job stress and emotional labor, between job stress and turnover intention, and between emotional labor and turnover intention, which indicates that higher job stress led to higher emotional labor and that higher job stress and emotional labor led to higher turnover intention. These findings raise a need to increase the manpower standard, offer proper rewards, and improve the work environment and treatment for nurses, who play the pivotal roles at the hospital organization, to solve their increased job stress and emotional labor issues and ultimately ensure the successful expansion of the comprehensive nursing care service system. There should be multifaceted efforts to reduce the turnover of skilled nurses that are capable of providing quality nursing service.

Social capital induces the members' adaptation and immersion through the interactions with multidimensional factors within an organization, and contributes to increasing an organization's performance by causing cooperative behaviors as a passage of communications and participation. This study analyzed the influence of social capital and organizational support recognition formed in an organization on the turnover intention, and examined the moderating effect of organizational support recognition in the relationship between social capital and turnover intention. To achieve the purpose, this research conducted a survey on small and medium sized manufacturing companies in Busan and Gyeongnam and performed an empirical analysis using hierarchical regression analysis. According to the empirical analysis, the structural and relational dimensions of social capital had a negative (-) influence on the turnover intention. Especially, the relational dimension had a huge influence on the turnover intention, showing that it is important to form trust among an organization's members through their interactions. Second, organizational support recognition also had a negative (-) influence on the turnover intention, demonstrating that attention and complete support at an organizational dimension were needed for individual members. Third, organizational support recognition appeared to mediate the relationship between social capital and the turnover intention. The higher the organizational support recognition was, the lower the negative (-) influence of the relational dimension of social capital on the turnover intention was. Based on these results, this paper discussed the theoretical and practical implications of this research as well as future assignments.

  • This study was conducted to investigate the mediated effects of self-efficacy in relation to communication competency within the medical team and turnover intention of hospital nurses. Data were collected from 208 nurses working at two university hospitals. In analyzing data using SPSS/WIN 23.0 program, descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient and after analyzed with Multiple regression analysis using Baron & Kenny's 3 stage procedure, confirmed indirect effect with Sobel test. Evaluation of relationships among communication competency, turnover intention and self-efficacy of subjects revealed a negative relationship(r=-0.22, p=0.001) between communication competency and turnover intention, a positive relationship(r=0.61, p<0.001) between communication competency and self-efficacy and a negative relationship(r=-0.25, <0.001) between self-efficacy and turnover intention. Concerning the mediated effect of self-efficacy in the relationship between communication competency and turnover intention, the influence of communication competency at stage 1 on turnover intention was significant(${\beta}=-0.22$, p<0.001), but communication competency at stage 3 had no significant influence on turnover intention(${\beta}=-0.11$, p=0.194). Accordingly, the mediated effect of self-efficacy in the relationship between communication competency and turnover intention fully mediated and the mediated effect of self-efficacy was significant(z=-2.15, p=0.032). Heightening self-efficacy by improving communication competency could effectively reduce the turnover intention of nurses.
