  • Short video applications (e.g., TikTok, YouTube shorts) are growing quickly in terms of active users and usage time. Of course, advertising industry is utilizing the app as AD channel. The current study, however, argues that the effectiveness of ADs in short video apps are not articulated well and that precise research for measuring the effect is required. In this context, this study measured the effects of storytelling ad types(reality, parody, creative) and message sensation value(high vs. low level) on story transportation. The notable finding is that when creative storytelling ad type which requires more cognitive resources than other two types meets high level of message sensation value, ad viewers could reach cognitive overload state which induced low effectiveness of ad. As its result, the effectiveness of AD reduced. More specific theoretical discussion and suggestions for advertising producers are described.

Among the motivations for use, it was confirmed that the motivation for social interaction had the greatest influence on flow. Second, when using the luxury fashion brand Instagram account, the state of consumer flow induces positive emotions such as pleasure, which has a positive effect on purchase intention. Third, age, which is a characteristic of luxury fashion brand Instagram account users, had a significant positive moderating effect on the relationship between informational motives and flow, and had a significant negative effect with playful motives. Through the results of this study, we contributed to the flow of previous related studies by empirically showing the dynamics of consumer psychology related to the use of luxury Instagram accounts.

Often times, the success of online games is determined by the characteristics of the game. This includes anything from the action to the plot and story development of the game. This is a crucial element in determining how interested a gamer will be in the game, which in turn can also lead to more effective technology development and cost investment in the overall game market. Research is being conducted by 'Mu', 'Ragnarok' and 'Laghaim', on the game characteristics of successful MMORPG online games. 'Mu's' target research are females, while 'Ragnarok' and 'Laghaim' are targeting the male gamer.
