Web-based information resources should be managed and used methodically in the same manner as the paper-based resources are managed and used. It is necessitated by the prevalence of web-based delivery of a variety of information. To develop a web-based digital collection, it is critical to establish a set of standardized evaluation criteria for web-resources. The evaluation criteria needs to include authority, trustworthy, reliability, functionality, relatedness, accessibility, structure, design, user support, and security related matters. However, it is also necessary to have certain flexibility to either emphasize or include particular evaluation criteria to reflect varying characteristics of the web resources especially for the purpose of developing an effective digital collection. In addition, it is essential to review the evaluation criteria with respect to value, demand, duplication prevention, and intellectual property, which are relevant to the web-based digital collection development. Finally, various strategies were suggested as means to develop more effective web-based digital resource collection. These strategies include organizing a selection committee to ensure the objectivity and consistency in web-resource evaluation; developing a model for web-based digital resource collection; sharing new standards, protocols, markups, and metadata with other digital libraries; and developing user-centered digital resource collection.

This study aims to look at overall adolescents' perceptions of library and reveal the relevance of search engine sources and library sources compared each elements of them and find out any related issues of perceptions of library and information use of them. The data for this study were collected through survey and analyzed descriptive statistics and correlation analysis using the data. The result shows the population users preferred search engine over library as their information search tool, and they used library as primarily a source of information for printed materials such as books and most of them don't use the library often. Also the result shows the population users tend to select information when it is easy to get and fast to access. Correlation analysis such as ${\chi}^2$ and Spearman were implemented and the result of the correlation shows that many factors of this study covered-such as comparison of information sources- have significant differences each other.

To assess the risk level of a public restroom implemented in virtual reality, we sought to evaluate the spatial elements present in the restroom. To provide the theoretical foundation for the evaluation subjects and criteria, we introduced prior research that proposed a checklist to entance the safety of public restroom. To set up evaluation criteria, we analyzed and established based on the theories of Paul J. Brantingham and Patricia L. Brantingham, focusing on the interaction between space and criminals. Ronald V. Clarke's "Routine Activity Theory" was also introduced and incorporated into the evaluation approach. We analyzed based on the correlation between the criminal, user, and spatial elements of the public restroom in terms of the criminal's actions, the spatial relevance to crime, and user exposure during use. Using these criteria, we developed an algorithm to evaluate th spatial elements of public restroom. Based on this, we created an application, demonstrating the feasibility of developing on evaluation tool.

This study analyses the relationship between learning style and library skills. The components of learning style and library skills were extracted through literature review. The relationship between learning style and library skills was verified by using T-test. The results indicate that there was Sub-variables of library skills such as 'decimal classification', 'using reference sources', and 'recognizing the parts of a book' had a significant relationship with global variables of learning style. Thus, when the user education for each type of learning style will be considered.

인터넷 이용자의 폭발적인 증가와 2대 이상의 PC 보유가정의 증가 및 정보가전의 디지털화에 따라 전 세계적으로 댁내통신설비 시장이 활성화되고 있다. 국내에서도 건물에 등급을 부여하는 초고속 정보통신 건물 인증제도의 등급을 정하여 관련 인증을 발부하고 있으며 최근에는 2004년도에 시행할 예정인 특등급(FTTH 등급) 안을 작성하여 공청회를 거쳤다. 이러한 추세에 따라 본 논문에서는 공동주택에 대한 댁내통신설비 운영을 위한 환경요소에 대하여 국내외 관련 표준을 분석하여 주요 항목을 도출하였으며 이를 바탕으로 집중구내통신실에 적용하였다. 향후 환경요소에 대한 주요 내용은 관련 법령 및 표준에 반영하고자 한다.

스마트폰의 이용자가 최근 급증하고 있다. 그에 반응하듯 많은 기업들은 기존의 서비스 외에도 스마트폰을 이용해 사용할 수 있는 서비스들을 시작하고 있고, 기존의 모바일로 불가능했던 작업들을 장소와 시간에 구애받지 않고 가능케 되었다. 이처럼 스마트폰의 이용인구가 급격히 증가하고 관련 컨텐츠들이 봇물 쏟아지듯 넘쳐나면서 개인정보 유출이나 악성코드로 인한 보안 사고도 급격히 늘고 있다. 본 논문에서는 스마트폰에 악영향을 미치는 악성코드에 대해 간단히 살펴보고, 악성코드가 쉽게 보안체계를 무너뜨릴 수 있게 만드는 스마트폰의 보안 위협요소 대하여 알아본다. 또 현재 사용되고 있는 대응 방안은 무엇이 있는지, 그리고 향후에 이러한 악성코드들과 위협요소를 줄이는 방법, 또는 대응 전략에 대하여 연구하였다. 이러한 연구는 스마트폰 보안 사고를 줄이거나 사전에 예방하고, 더 나은 스마트폰 사용 환경을 제공할 것이다.

New manufactural innovation was generated with combination with Do It Yourself(DIY) culture and Information and Communication Technology(ICT). It led people to make their creative idea in real things and share them. This social movement has been called as 'Maker' culture. As maker culture was developed, the places named 'Makerspace' with high-tech equipment and sharing environment have been widely spread and gotten spotlight. Futhermore, makerspaces have been diffused rapidly in Korea; because of its importance for the fourth industrial revolution. However, the operation of makerspaces is not matured as much as its popularity, so problems occurred in operating aspects. The number of related studies is not enough to foster domestic maker culture in Korea. Of that, studies on operation of makerspaces were limited and the quantity of survey sample was insufficient. Therefore, firstly, in this study, operation elements of makerspaces were extracted by literature review. And, survey for examining the extracted elements was conducted to four policy makers and researchers, four makerspace operators and four makers. Final survey was carried out by Importance-Performance Analysis(IPA) method to fifty recipients composed of policy makers and researchers, operators, and makers. In result, importance located above performance in every elements and in-depth interview was followed to understand domestic surroundings and suggest way to invigorate makerspaces in Korea. The suggestion shows as follows. First, online and offline platform for makers should be expanded; second, makerspace should connect private sponsorship with makers or their projects; third, policy direction has to be improved from venturing business to diffusion of maker culture; fourth, basic maker education should be enlarged.

Fare is critical variable when deciding project feasibility for a monorail system in tour regions. This study aims to estimate optimal fare balancing operators and users. An object of this study is Wolmi-eunha circulation monorail at Jung-Gu, Wolmido in Incheon metropolitan city. This study introduces a stepwise optimization technique to decide relevant fare ranges between operator's cost and user's cost. We found that the optimized station interval is 0.532km, the optimized headway is 0.206hour, optimal number of stations is 12, optimal number of vehicles is 3. Using these optimized variables, minimum user cost and minimum operator cost can be calculated. Optimal fare range is calculated from 1,261 Won to 5,063 Won. It is also found that sightseeing transport system has less sensitivity on access cost because distance differences among sightseeing transport stations located in the tour regions are negligible.

Recently, as diffusing knowledge-based information society, creation and information literacy of knowledge information is being important factor. Specifically, with increasing of science-technology information and information needs of science-technology information users are becoming segment and specialization. Also, study results of science-technology being used instantly in industry field and because of impact on industry development, science-technology information is growing rapidly. Therefore, customer-oriented system building is important. So, The purpose of this paper is to analyze and describe the characteristics of information needs and using behavior of science-technology information users of the KISTI.
