  • DEVS(Discrete Event System Specification) 형식론은 계층적이고 모듈화된 형태로 이산사건 시스템을 기술한다.

  • This paper presents an approach for determining the discrete reduced-order models for largescale system by using matrix sign function. We define projection operators based on the matrix sign function and develop the algorithm for model-reduction by using them. Simulation studies show that the proposed altgorithm is very useful.

  • In this paper, we propose methods for improving the performance of word recognition system. The ray stratey of the first method is to apply the inertia to the feature vector sequences of speech signal to stabilize the transitions between VQ cdoes. The second method is generating the new observation probabilities using the transition matrix of VQ codes as weights at the observation probability of the output symbol, so as to take into account the time relation between neighboring frames in DHMM. By applying the inertia to the feature vector sequences, we can reduce the overlapping of probability distribution of the response paths for each word and stabilize state transitions in the HMM. By using the transition matrix of VQ codes as weights in conventional DHMM. we can divide the probability distribution of feature vectors more and more, and restrict the feature distribution to a suitable region so that the performance of recognition system can improve. To evaluate the performance of the proposed methods, we carried out experiments for 50 DDD area names. As a result, the proposed methods improved the recognition rate by $4.2\%$ in the speaker-dependent test and $12.45\%$ in the speaker-independent test, respectively, compared with the conventional DHMM.

  • The distribution of a response usually depends on the distribution of the variables. When a variable shows a distribution with two different modes, the response also shows a distribution with two different modes. In this case, recently developed methods for reliability analysis assume that the distribution functions are continuous with a mode. In actual problems, however, because information is often provided in a discrete form with two or more modes, it is important to estimate the distributions for such information. In this study, we employ the finite mixture model to estimate the response distribution with two different modes, and we select the best candidate distribution through AIC. Mathematical examples are illustrated to verify the proposed method.

  • Dynamic response analysis in time dimain is conducted for floating bridges with discrete pontoons subject to spatial variation of ground motions. The Spatial variation of ground motions is considered with the coherency function model which represents wave passage, incoherence and local site effects. The superstructure of the bridge is represented by space frame and elastic catenary cable elements, the abutment us modelde with the spring element of FHWA guideline for considering soil structure interaction and the concept of retardation function is utilized to consider the frequency dependency of the hydrodynamic coefficients which are obtainde by boundary element method. multiple support excitations considering the spatial variation. The noticeable amplification of the response can be shown when the spatial variation of ground motions is incorporated in the anallysis of floating bridges.

  • Discrete event system specification (DEVS) has been used in many simulations including hybrid systems featuring both discrete and continuous behavior that require a lot of time to get results. Therefore, in this study, we proposed the acceleration of a DEVS-based hybrid system simulation using multi-cores and GPUs tightly coupled computing. We analyzed the proposed heterogeneous computing of the simulation in terms of the configuration of the target device, changing simulation parameters, and power consumption for efficient simulation. The result revealed that the proposed architecture offers an advantage for high-performance simulation in terms of execution time, although more power consumption is required. With these results, we discovered that our approach is applicable in hybrid system simulation, and we demonstrated the possibility of optimized hardware distribution in terms of power consumption versus execution time via experiments in the proposed architecture.
