Image Deblurring Using Vibration Information From 3-axis Accelerometer (3축 가속도 센서의 흔들림 정보를 이용한 영상의 Deblurring)

  • This paper proposes a real-time method using a 3-axis accelerometer to enhance blurred images taken from a camera loaded in mobile devices. Blurring phenomenon is a smoothing effect occurring in photo images. Algorithms to cope with blurring phenomenon is essential since small-size mobile devices tremble severely by even a tiny hand-shaking of a user. In this paper, accurate sensing characteristics of the 3-axis accelerometer is acquired by applying the sensor in pendulum motion and the blurring phenomenon is modeled as a uniform distribution and Gaussian distribution. Also, non-Gaussian distributed model is observed in the experiment of real blurring phenomenon and a particular deblurring function is designed by reversing the model. It has been demonstrated that the application of trembling information to the deblurring function adequately removes the blurring phenomenon.

Estimating Distance of a Target Object from the Background Objects with Electric Image (전기장을 이용한 물체의 거리 측정 연구)

  • Weakly electric fish uses active sensing to detect the distortion of self-generated electric field in the underwater environments. The active electrolocation makes it possible to identify target objects from the surroundings without vision in the dark sea. Weakly electric fish have many electroreceptors over the whole body surface of electric fish, and sensor readings from a collection of electroreceptors are represented as an electric image. Many researchers have worked on finding features in the electric image to know how the weakly electric fish identify the target object. In this paper, we suggest a new mechanism of how the electrolocation can recognize a given target object among object plants. This approach is based on the differential components of the electric image, and has a potential to be applied to the underwater robotic system for object localization.

  • As power consumption is maximized, research on augmented reality-based monitoring systems for on-site facility managers to maintain and repair power facilities is being actively conducted as individual power brokerages and power production facilities increase. However, in the case of existing augmented reality-based monitoring systems, it is difficult to accurately detect patterns due to problems such as external environment, facility complexity, and interference with the lighting environment, and it is not possible to match various sensing information and service information for power facilities to one pattern. there is a problem. For this reason, since sensor information is matched using a single image pattern for each sensor of a power facility, a plurality of image patterns are required to augment and provide all information. In this paper, we propose a single image pattern arrangement method that matches and provides a plurality of information through an array combination of feature patterns in a single image composed of a plurality of feature patterns.

Study on Hand Gestures Recognition Algorithm of Millimeter Wave (밀리미터파의 손동작 인식 알고리즘에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, an algorithm that recognizes numbers from 0 to 9 was developed using the data obtained after tracking hand movements using the echo signal of a millimeter-wave radar sensor at 77 GHz. The echo signals obtained from the radar sensor by detecting the motion of a hand gesture revealed a cluster of irregular dots due to the difference in scattering cross-sectional area. A valid center point was obtained from them by applying a K-Means algorithm using 3D coordinate values. In addition, the obtained center points were connected to produce a numeric image. The recognition rate was compared by inputting the obtained image and an image similar to human handwriting by applying the smoothing technique to a CNN (Convolutional Neural Network) model trained with MNIST (Modified National Institute of Standards and Technology database). The experiment was conducted in two ways. First, in the recognition experiments using images with and without smoothing, average recognition rates of 77.0% and 81.0% were obtained, respectively. In the experiment of the CNN model with augmentation of learning data, a recognition rate of 97.5% and 99.0% on average was obtained in the recognition experiment using the image with and without smoothing technique, respectively. This study can be applied to various non-contact recognition technologies using radar sensors.

  • Star sensor provides highly accurate attitude information by imaging the stars in the dark space. The sensor output is disabled when the sensor avoidance of the Sunlight or the Earth's albedo is not satisfied. This paper studies the Sun and Earth avoidance characteristics of the star sensors according to the mounting direction. Then the paper proposes a systematic way of determining the star sensors mounting direction for typical remote sensing missions

  • In this paper, we propose a mobile image retrieval system which utilizes the mobile device's sensor information and enables running in a variety of the environments, and implement the system on Android platform. The proposed system deals with a new image descriptor using combination of the visual feature with EXIF attributes in the target of JPEG image, and image matching algorithm which is optimized to the mobile environments. Experiments are performed on the Android platform, and the experimental results revealed that the proposed algorithm exhibits a significant improved results with large image database.

Inductive Micro Thin Film Sensor for Metallic Surface Crack Detection (금속 표면결함 검출용 자기유도 마이크로 박막 센서)

  • Alternating magnetic field was used for detection of surface flaws on nonmagnetic and magnetic metallic specimens. The nondestructive sensor probe was composed of the planar coil with inductive magnetic thin film yoke as a sensing component and a single straight typed exciting coil. The planar inductive coil sensor with magnetic yoke was fabricated by sputtering, electroplating, dry etching and photolithography process. The alternative currents with the range of 0.1A to 1.0A (0.7 MHz to 1.8 MHz) were applied to the exciting coil. The specimens were prepared with the slit shaped artificial surface flaws (minimum depth and width; 0.5 mm) on metallic plate (Al; nonmagnetic metal and FeC; magnetic metal). The detected signal for the positions and shapes of surface flaws on specimens were obtained with high sensitivity and high signal to ratio. The measured output signals by the non-contacted scanning on surface of FeC specimen with micron-sized crack were converted to the images of the flaws. And these results were compared with the optical images, respectively.

A Study on the Application Method of Mechanochromic Sensor for Crack Monitoring in Buildings (건축물 균열 모니터링을 위한 역학변색센서 활용 기법에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, an experimental study was conducted on the development of crack monitoring technology in buildings using a mechanochromic sensor. After attaching a mechanochromic sensor to the cracks induced in the concrete specimen, the color variation image of the sensor according to the progress of the cracks was taken. In addition, a method of analyzing a sensor color variation image was proposed, and an equation for deriving a crack's width from the relationship between the analysis result and the crack width was also proposed. In addition, the possibility of using an mechanochromic sensor for monitoring cracks in buildings was confirmed through the verification of crack width monitoring technology.

  • 본 논문에서는 안드로이드 플랫폼 기반의 스마트폰에 내장된 중력 센서와 GPS 센서, NFC 태그를 활용한 조난 방지 애플리케이션을 설계하고 구현한다. 중력 센서를 통해 사용자의 움직임을 감지하고 GPS 센서를 사용해 사용자의 위치 정보를 확인하여 필요에 따라 회원가입 시 등록한 보호자에게 문자 메시지를 전송하거나 신고할 수 있도록 구현한다. 또한 등산 중 길을 잃었을 경우, NFC 태그를 통해 등산로의 정보를 이미지로 확인할 수 있도록 구현한다.

  • The graylevel image scanning system realization and design using CIS(Contact image Scanning)be amenable to recognize a papers, OMR and OCR sheet is proposed. The design technique is used CIS scanning sensor in fixing step motor and is optimized with DSP processor for inage processing, and transfer input image data par line in feeding a step unit to PC on the USB interfacer. This system is portable ad A4 size scanning. and keeps image scan processing speed 300mm/sec. The recognition percentage has 98% on the OCR and bar codes.
