Performance analysis of the Resource Reservation Schemes using Mobile Cluster based H-MRSVP in Wireless Mobile Networks (무선 이동망에서 이동 클러스터 기반의 H-MRVP를 이용한 자원관리 기법의 성능 분석)

  • This paper develops a scheme of resource management for guaranteeing QoS of realtime traffic in wireless mobile internet environments Mobile terminal has significant impact on the QoS originating mobility provided to a real-time application. The currently proposed MRSVP is not clear the boundary of resource reservation tregion and also can give rise to signal overhead to maintain sessions. To solve above problem, we propose the new reservation protocol, mobile cluster based H-MRSVP to combine MRSVP with moving cluster concept. In this paper, we analytically design our model for guaranteeing the QoS of realtime traffic and compare the three schemes: guard channel allocation schemes, DCA and our model. The performance measures are the probabilities of new call blocking, handoff dropping, resource utilization and service completion versus the system offered Erlang load. Consequently, Simulation indicate our model is more flexible than DCA in a view pint of channel utilization and gains the advantage over guard channel scheme with respects to the mobility.

  • The management and analysis of spatio-temporal and multimedia data is a hot issue in database research because such data types are handled in manny applications. Querying databases of such a content is very important for these applications. This paper addresses algorithms that make index structure by using Douglas-Peucker Algorithm and process range query efficiently on moving objects trajectories. We compare and analyze our algorithms and MBR by experiments. Our algorithms make smaller size of index structure and process more efficiently.

  • Target-tracking systems are important for carrying out effective surveillance missions using mobile surveillance robots. In this paper, we propose a target-tracking algorithm using camera image data for a three-axis mobile surveillance robot and carry out an actual hardware test for verifying the proposed algorithm. The heading direction vector of a camera system is deduced from the position error between the viewfinder center and the object center in a camera image. The position error is obtained using the CAMShift(Continuously Adaptive Mean Shift) algorithm, an image processing technique. The performance test of an actual three-axis mobile surveillance robot was carried out for verifying the proposed target-tracking algorithm in a real environment.

  • This paper addresses the problem of efficient processing of region monitoring queries. The centralized methods used for existing region monitoring query processing assumes that the mobile object periodically sends location-updates to the server and the server continues to update the query results. However, a large amount of location updates seriously degrade the system performance. Recently, some distributed methods have been proposed for region monitoring query processing. In the distributed methods, the server allocates to all objects i) a resident domain that is a subspace of the workspace, and ii) a number of nearby query regions. All moving objects send location updates to the server only when they leave the resident domain or cross the boundary of the query region. In order to allocate the resident domain to the moving object along with the nearby query region, we use a query index structure that is constructed by splitting the workspace recursively into equal halves. However, However, the above index structure causes unnecessary division, resulting in deterioration of system performance. In this paper, we propose an adaptive split method to reduce unnecessary splitting. The workspace splitting is dynamically allocated i) considering the spatial relationship between the query region and the resultant subspace, and ii) the distribution of the query region. We proposed an enhanced QR-tree with a new splitting method. Through a set of simulations, we verify the efficiency of the proposed split methods.

A Design of Parallel Processing System for Management of Moving Objects (이동체 관리를 위한 다중 처리 시스템의 설계)

  • In order to index exactly moving objects(vehicle, mobile phone, PDA, etc.) in the mobile database, continuous updates of their locations are inevitable as well as time-consuming. The studies of pure spatial indices have focused on the efficient retrievals. However, the acquisition and management of the terminal Location of moving objects are more important than the efficiency of the query processing in the moving object databases. Therefore, it will be need to adopt parallel processing system for the moving object databases which should maintain the object's current location as precise as possible. This paper proposes a architecture of spatial indexing mobile objects using multiple processors. More precisely, we newly propose a method of splitting buckets using the properties of moving objects in order to minimize the number of database updates. We also propose a acquisition method for gathering the location information of moving objects and passing the information of the bucket extents in order to reduce the amount of passed messages between processors.

  • 평행한 벽 내부의 흐르는 규제 속에 원형실린더를 놓고 운동장 해석을 수행하였다. 비압축성 Navier- Stokes 방정식을 풀었고 3차 풍상미분의 수치해법을 이용하였다. 채널 내부에서 실린더의 위치를 이동하면서 벽면의 효과 전단력, 와류의 현장을 규명하였다. 수치처리는 Marker & Cell 기법에 의한 유한차분법을 사용하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 실린더와 벽 경계 사이에서의 생성된 와가 박리 전단에 영향을 미치는 것을 알 수 있었다.

  • 본 논문에서는 유전자 발현 데이터를 분석하는데 있어서 자기 조직화 지도와 계층적 군집화 기법을 상호 보완적으로 사용하여 사용자가 보다 직관적으로 군집화 결과를 해석할 수 있는 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법을 사용하면 빠른 처리 속도로 대용량 데이터 처리에 적합한 자기 조직화 지도의 장점을 살릴 수 있으며 계층적 군집화의 장점인 가시화 기능을 이용하여 자기 조직화 지도의 단점인 군집 경계에 대한 불명확성을 해소하여 군집화 결과를 사용자가 쉽게 이해하고 직관적으로 해석할 수 있도록 도와준다. 본 논문에서 제안된 방법의 효용성을 검증하기 위해 세 종류의 데이터를 사용하여 실험을 수행한 결과 제안된 방법이 기존 방법에 비해 더 나은 성능을 보이는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

Uncertain Region Based User-Assisted Segmentation Technique for Object-Based Video Editing System (객체기반 비디오 편집 시스템을 위한 불확실 영역기반 사용자 지원 비디오 객체 분할 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose a semi-automatic segmentation method which can be used to generate video object plane (VOP) for object based coding scheme and multimedia authoring environment. Semi-automatic segmentation can be considered as a user-assisted segmentation technique. A user can initially mark objects of interest around the object boundaries and then the selected objects are continuously separated from the un selected areas through time evolution in the image sequences. The proposed segmentation method consists of two processing steps: partially manual intra-frame segmentation and fully automatic inter-frame segmentation. The intra-frame segmentation incorporates user-assistance to define the meaningful complete visual object of interest to be segmentation and decides precise object boundary. The inter-frame segmentation involves boundary and region tracking to obtain temporal coherence of moving object based on the object boundary information of previous frame. The proposed method shows stable and efficient results that could be suitable for many digital video applications such as multimedia contents authoring, content based coding and indexing. Based on this result, we have developed objects based video editing system with several convenient editing functions.

Underwater Moving Source Tracking Using a Coherent Broad-band Matched Field Processing Technology (일관성 광대역 정합장처리에 의한 수중 이동음원의 위치추적)

  • The shallow-water environment presents additional challenges arising from the complex interaction patterns of the sound with the sea bed. In order to overcome the difficulties generated by shallow-water propagation, broad-band matched field processing has been employed in an effort to increase robustness by utilizing multiple frequency information. In this paper, a coherent broad-band matched field processor is introduced that incorporates the spatial coherence of the acoustic field not only over one frequency but across frequencies. The incoherent and coherent processors are applied to the experimental data where it is shown that both processors give a high probability of correct localization. Also it is found that a coherent processor has better performance in the sidelobe pattern of ambiguity surfaces.

  • If the location information of a great number of cars kept for business with telematics terminals is acquired and managed efficiently, this information forms the foundation for controlling cars and traffic flows.
