Flash memory has many good features such as small size, shock-resistance, and low power consumption, but the cost of flash memory is still high to substitute for hard disk entirely. Recently, some mobile devices, such as laptops, attempt to use both flash memory and hard disk together for taking advantages of merits of them. However, existing OSs (Operating Systems) are not optimized to use the heterogeneous storage media. This paper presents a new buffer cache management scheme. First, we allocate buffer cache space according to access patterns of block references and the characteristics of storage media. Second, we prefetch data blocks selectively according to the location of them and access patterns of them. Third, we moves destaged data from buffer cache to hard disk or flash memory considering the access patterns of block references. Trace-driven simulation shows that the proposed schemes enhance the buffer cache hit ratio by up to 29.9% and reduce the total I/O elapsed time by up to 49.5%.

IoT devices are widely used in network construction and are increasing. If necessary, heterogeneous IoT devices are used for data transmission. This paper proposes to prevent the method of data loss due to differences in throughput when the local network is constructed by Bluetooth 5 and long range network does by LoRa(Long Range). Data loss occur when the data transmits through LoRa, due to the throughputs of Bluetooth 5 faster than that of LoRa. The prevent method proposed by this paper can apply not only Bluetooth 5 and LoRa but heterogeneous IoT devices and expect to prevent data loss due to differences in throughput between heterogeneous IoT devices. Also, this paper shows the simulation result by applying the proposed avoid method. In this paper, two way to the preventive method shows the data transmission ratio and amount of memory that of necessity.

In the near future, people will wish to access many kinds of heterogeneous networks to use their services anytime and anywhere. Owing to the heterogeneity of networks, there must be many kinds of protocols to guarantee secure services. The mobile device can depend in a middleware for accessing services in the heterogeneous networks and the middleware helps the mobile device to communicate with services without blowing concrete protocols. If a secure channel is necessary, the middleware may access a private key in the mobile device to perform a security protocol. In this paper, we focus on the security of a private key in the mobile device against malicious middlewares. To do so, we introduce two models for a user to protect his/her private key against malicious middlewares by generating authentication data(e.g., digital signatures) without keeping the private key in the mobile device.
Information from various heterogeneous devices is steadily increasing in distributed cloud environments. This is because high-speed network speeds and high-capacity multimedia data are being used. However, research is still underway on how to minimize information errors in big data sent and received by heterogeneous devices. In this paper, we propose a deep learning-based asymmetric storage management technique for minimizing bandwidth and data errors in networks generated by information sent and received in cloud environments. The proposed technique applies deep learning techniques to optimize the load balance after asymmetric hash of the big data information generated by each device. The proposed technique is characterized by allowing errors in big data collected from each device, while also ensuring the connectivity of big data by grouping big data into groups of clusters of dogs. In particular, the proposed technique minimizes information errors when storing and managing big data asymmetrically because it used a loss function that extracted similar values between big data as seeds.

Recently, the types and amount of data generated, collected, and measured in IoT such as smart home, security, and factory are increasing. The technologies for IoT service include sensor devices to measure desired data, embedded software to control the devices such as signal processing, wireless network protocol to transmit and receive the measured data, and big data and AI-based analysis. In this paper, we focused on developing a gateway for interfacing heterogeneous sensor network protocols that are used in various IoT devices and propose a heterogeneous network interface IoT gateway. We utilized a OpenWrt-based wireless routers and used 6LoWAN stack for IP-based communication via BLE and IEEE 802.15.4 adapters. We developed a software to convert Z-Wave and LoRa packets into IP packet using our Python-based middleware. We expect the IoT gateway to be used as an effective device for collecting IoT big data.

The objective of cache is to reduce I/O access of physical storage device so that user accesses their data faster. Traditionally, the most important metric to measure the performance of cache is hitratio. Thus, when the cache maintains hitratio high, it is regarded as a good cache replacement policy. However, the cache miss latency is different when the storages are heterogeneous. Though the cache hitratio is high, if the cache often misses with low performance disk, then the user experiences low performance. To address this problem we proposed eviction cost estimation based cache management. In our result, the eviction cost estimation based cache management has 10~30% throughput improvement compared with LRU cache management.
