Effect of Social Work Student's Attitude, Knowledge and Experience with Senior Citizens (노인에 대한 태도, 지식, 경험이 사회복지전공 대학생의 노인부양의식에 미치는 영향)

  • This study is to understand how experiences of, knowledge of, and attitude toward the aged affect consciousness of supporting the aged among students of social welfare. 702 students majoring in social welfare at university in the capital and regional area were selected for this study from May to June, 2011. The result revealed that there are factors affecting consciousness of supporting the aged such as their attitude, physical ad physiological knowledge, and volunteer experiences and positive experiences in cohabitation with the aged. On the basis of these results, it is expected that the outcomes of this study will contribute to promote the students' consciousness about supporting the aged.

A Structural Analysis of Adult Learners' Lifelong Education Consciousness, Participation Motivation, Learning Outcome (성인학습자의 평생교육의식, 참여동기, 학습성과에 관한 구조적 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the structural of adult learners' lifelong education consciousness, participation motivation, learning outcome. The subjects were 319 adult learners who participated in the courses of the lifelong learning in 5 districts of Daejeon. The research results are as follows. First, adult learners' consciousness of lifelong education had positive effects on their learning outcome. Second, adult learners' consciousness of lifelong education had positive effects on their participation motivation. Third, participation motivation had positive effects on their learning outcome. Forth, participation motivation had mediating effect between consciousness of lifelong education and learning outcome. Consciousness of lifelong education and participation motivation were verified as factors that affect learning outcome directly. These results can be used to change the consciousness of lifelong education, and to participation motivation potential learners to participate in lifelong learning. Finally this process will improve their learning outcome. The study is meaningful to provide possibility to enlarge participation opportunities for lifelong learning.

Sexual Consciousness, Gender Egalitarianism and Awareness Levels of Sexual Harassment among College Students (대학생의 성의식, 성평등 의식과 성희롱 인식 수준)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the factors influencing sexual consciousness, gender egalitarianism and awareness levels of sexual harassment among college students. Methods: As a descriptive, correlative study, the data was collected from 274 college students. The copies of the questionnaire were collected from April 23 to 30, 2015. The data was analyzed using a t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficients and multiple linear regression. Results: Sexual consciousness, gender egalitarianism and sexual harassment awareness levels averaged 3.00 (range of score 1-5), 1.97(1-4) and 4.09 (1-5), respectively. Awareness levels of sexual harassment had a positive correlation with sexual consciousness, and a negative correlation with gender, major field of study, living patterns, and gender egalitarianism. Conclusion: This study has identified sexual consciousness and gender egalitarianism, as well as the associated influencing factors, among college students. The results of this study are expected to be used as basic data for developing strategies and programs for the prevention of sexual harassment among college students.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of career maturity on school adjustment in the middle school students on the mediating effect of sense of community. The data of 2,121 middle school students in the research into the state of adolescent activities and improvement plans(2015) by the National Youth Policy Institute were analysed. The results of the study are: (1) career maturity was found a key factor affecting the school adjustment of middle school students, (2) their career maturity had a positive affect on the sense of community, (3) sense of community affects school adjustment of middle school students, (4) sense of community was proved to have a mediating effect between the effects of career maturity and school adjustment. The implications and limitations are reviewed, as are the suggestions for future research.

A Study on the Users' Awareness of Waterfront in Japan - Focusing on Yokohama Minatomirai21 area - (일본 워터프런트 공간에 있어서 수변공간의식에 대한 연구 ~요코하마 미나토미라이21지구를 대상으로~)

  • Using a questionnaire, this study examined the users' consciousness through the human five senses on the waterside space in the district of Minato Mirai 21, Yokohama located in the east of Kanagawa prefecture, which is well known for its waterfront in Japan. Among the users, the results of the questionnaire showed 52.2% of male, and 29.6% accounted for people in their twenties as the dominant groups. Out of the nineteen questions regarding the consciousness on the waterside space, 'feel the sea breeze' accounted for 237(78.7%) while 'the sea is visible' accounted for 217(72.1%). Then, the contents of the nineteen questions were re-classified into such seven items as the human five senses(sight, hearing, touch, taste, and smell), activities, and the existence of facilities, discovering the consciousness of the users. The results demonstrated that touch(22.9%) and sight(20.8%) respectively were the most influential items.

Verification of the Structural Relationship Model of Calling to Optimism, Work Hope and Supportive Parenting (소명의식에 영향을 미치는 요인 -낙관성, 일희망, 부모양육태도의 구조적 관계모형 검증)

  • This study examined the effect on calling and the role of optimism, work hope, religion and supportive parenting. Furthermore, this study tested if personal characteristic variables (optimism and work hope) and personal environmental variables (religion and supportive parenting) would affect how the path would reach. 277 male and female undergraduate students were surveyed. The data was analyzed by AMOS and SPSS. The results were as follows. First, structural equation modeling analyses indicated that supportive parenting and optimism had a direct influence on work hope, and work hope had a significant effect on calling. Religion was not influenced by calling. Second, predictors including work hope, optimism, and supportive parenting accounted for calling well. The implication for practice and future research on calling in counseling and education area are discussed.

Nursing Students' Awareness of Human Rights and Influencing Factors (간호대학생의 인권의식에 영향을 미치는 요인)

  • This study was done to identify awareness of human rights in nursing students, and to evaluate the factors affecting human rights for nursing students. A cross-sectional design was used, with a convenience sample of 440 nursing students from two university in Incheon and Kangwon province. The score for right consciousness was much higher than duty consciousness inherent in human rights. The predicting factor for human rights was mother's rearing attitude in terms of autonomy and this factor explained 7.6% of human rights for nursing students. There was a significant difference on human rights for nursing students according to age and awareness of human rights were related to perceived parents' rearing attitude, self-esteem, psychological home environment.

The Relationship of the Empathy and Biomedical Ethics Awareness with University Student (대학생의 공감과 생명의료윤리의식의 연관성)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the level of biomedical ethics awareness, empathy among college students. The participants were 469 university students in South Korea. The average score for biomedical ethics awareness was $2.89{\pm}.21$ ; The average the scores of empathy was $2.41{\pm}.35$. Biomedical ethics awareness showed a positive correlation with empathy(r=.203, p<.001). Emotional empathy showed a significant effect on biomedical ethics awareness. And the empathic concern of emotional empathy showed a significant effect on right to life fetus, artificial abortion, artificial insemination, prenatal diagnosis of fetus, right to life of newborn, euthanasia, brain death of biomedical ethics awareness. The results of this study suggest that biomedical ethics education to the emotional empathy should need for general university students.

Effects of Married Female Immigrants' Consciousness of Later Life and Social-Leisure Activities on Their Preparation Perception for Their Later Life in Choongchungnam-Do (결혼이주여성 노후생활인식과 사회활동 및 여가활동이 노후준비의식에 미치는 영향 -충청남도를 중심으로-)

  • This study aimed to explore the effects of married female immigrants' consciousness of later life and social and leisure activities on their preparation perception for their later life. We used data from 355 married female immigrants, residing in or nearby, Choongchungnam-do, Korea in 2013. Regressional analysis and SPSS 18.0 were conducted to prove the hypotheses. Consistent with previous studies, the findings of this study indicate that having more activities on leisure and social life and more planning on later life constitute critical factors for higher emotional, physical, and economical preparation perception for later life. Here we discussed strategies in planning social welfare policy for married female immigrants by providing basic information.

A comparative study on the consciousness of bio-medical ethics of nursing and non-nursing students (간호과와 비 간호과 학생의 생명의료윤리 의식 비교)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify consciousness of bio-medical ethics of nursing and non-nursing students. The total mean scores of consciousness of bio-medical ethics between nursing(3.04/4) and non-nursing(2.88/4) were significantly different(t=6.79, p<.001). There were statistically significant differences between two groups in sub-categories of consciousness of bio-medical ethics: right to life of fetus, prenatal diagnosis of fetus, right to life of newborn, euthanasia, organ transplantation, brain death. The major predicting factors for consciousness of bio-medical ethics were experience of studying for biomedical ethics over 1 semester, experience of conflict for biomedical ethic problem, and ethical attitude in nursing department. Study results indicate that appropriate and various teaching-learning method for education of each department is deeded according to move up into a higher class with consciousness of bio-medical ethics, ability of decision making, critical thinking.
